Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

As it turns out, journeying through the dimension of an all-powerful, multiversal god is a painfully long endeavor.

I had been walking through endless rolling hills and meadows for what felt like a few hours when I finally began to see signs of life.

Ahead of me, I saw a golden brick road that looked like it came straight out of The Wizard of Oz.

Assuming that I was probably going in the right way, thanks to the massive palace that still loomed in the distance, I started to pick up the pace hoping to get there just a little bit sooner.

Oddly enough, I didn't seem to get tired no matter how long or how quickly I traveled. One of the few perks of being dead I suppose.

'Why did that angel have to drop me off so far away anyway? It doesn't seem like it would have been too hard.'

I shook my head and grumbled in frustration. Soon however, my brooding was interrupted as I noticed two distinct figures in the distance ahead of me.

I once again sped up in hopes of catching up to them.

Strength in numbers and all that, maybe they had some ideas for good wishes?

"I'm pretty sure I'm completely fucked."

The guy speaking was a slightly short ginger that has introduced himself as Oliver. Next to him stood a taller but quiet kid named James. He definitely was a little shy, but seemed to get over it quickly.

The shared experience of getting thrown into a magical dimension and the threat of imminent reincarnation tends to do that to a person.

"Come on man, Attack on Titan isn't the worst place you could end up, look at the positives here…" I replied.

"I don't want to hear anything from the guy that gets to go to hero school with a bunch of baddies, what positives could there possibly be to a world full of giant naked cannibals on top of extremely racist fascist regimes that want to see the entire island burn?"

Fair point I guess.

"Maybe you can ask to be reincarnated outside of Eldia?" James added on.

"Are you mentally disabled? I'd rather like to avoid getting squished like a McChicken from a one star McDonalds by a hundred tons of skin-flayed meat puppets."

Before James could reply I jumped back in.

"I've got an idea, why don't you ask for the backing of the United States Military, I remember some guy on YouTube said they could beat the Rumbling."

"I-. . ." Oliver paused.

"I'm not gonna say that that's a good idea, but you did just give me a bit of inspiration."

He looked straight ahead with a thoughtful expression on his face for a few moments.

"Well, we don't have all day, spit it out!"

"First of all, at the rate we are going I'm pretty sure we do have all day. I can't understand why these angels don't even have the decency to drop us a little bit closer. Anyway, I'm thinking that I can ask for some kind of super intelligence or engineering knowledge. If basic industrial revolution weapons can take out titans, imagine what I could do with a Gundam or a Jäger."

"Not the worst idea we've come up with so far."

The conversation lulled for a few moments before James spoke up.

"Did your angels say anything about what is wrong with your destination worlds? All mine said was some vague thing about an extra "chaos god", whatever that means.

Both Oliver and I widened our eyes in horror. We slowly turned to look at him as I asked:

"James… by any chance did you ask about the name of the world that you're being sent into?"

"Well yeah, I don't recall ever hearing about it before though, something about a hammer… Oh! I remember now. Warhammer 40 thousand!"

"Oh, Oh you poor soul…"

After a long and arduous explanation of how deeply and utterly fucked James is going to be if he doesn't have an extremely overpowered wish in mind, the conversation eventually came back to me.

"I haven't heard anything yet about your grand plans for being a hero over there, you lucky bastard." Oliver said snarkily, though he did seem to be a little happier with his destination after learning about the tragedy that is James.

At this point the guy in question was completely zoned out. From the look on his face you would think he just got shipped back from Vietnam.

Putting that aside, I replied to Oliver.

"I'm really not sure that I want to go the whole pro-hero route to begin with. I'll have to see what the actual situation is like when I get there, but if possible I'd like to stay as low key as I can and only interfere when it's necessary."

"Though, as for my wish, I've got something in mind. It will be a bit of a stretch but if I can pull it off I'll be set."

At long last we had arrived before the almighty Parthenon. Along the way our group had picked up a few more stragglers, oddly enough the vast majority of them were teenage boys. Is that some kind of prerequisite for being reincarnated or do they just put that whole demographic in the same area of the dimension?

Such mysteries plagued me, but it didn't seem like I would be able to get a straight explanation from anyone around here.

By the looks of it, there was an orderly queue leading up to the– way to many –steps of the grandiose temple. We fell in line and soon enough I found myself in the front of the line looking up at the oversized golden doors.

A new angel holding a clipboard similar to the one used by Syxelphia addressed me as I approached.

"Mortal, according to the Omniversal accords established by the Supreme One I am required to ask you if you will consent to mind reading during the process of wish granting. Mind reading is optional but heavily recommended as it will speed up the process and ensure a precise understanding and accurate implementation of said wish."

I only had to think for a moment before I replied.

"Sure, go for it."

If my suspicions were right I was going to need all the understanding I could get if I wanted this wish to work.

Stepping into what I can only describe as the "throne room" was an interesting experience.

The decoration was, as one might expect, extremely opulent and most importantly golden–just like everything else in this place. The room itself wasn't all that large, maybe about the size of a conference room. The puzzling thing about it was the god sitting on the other side of the room.

I wish I could describe just what exactly I saw in that room, but the truth is I simply cannot. From the moment I laid eyes on the Supreme One until some time after my memory is hazy at best, but what I do know is that my wish was granted. It wasn't exactly in the way I had pictured it but it turned out close enough.

So what did I wish for? Simple:

I asked to become Gojo Satoru.

I'm sure it's not the most optimal wish I could have possibly asked for, but it was the best my fanboy brain could come up with in the time that I had and, all in all, I'm pretty damn happy with how it turned out.

The way that my wish was implemented is somewhat arbitrary, but I'll outline the major points in the best way that I can.

First: In my new life, I will gain the powers, abilities, body, and name of the honored one himself. Obviously, cursed energy is an incompatible power system with the world of MHA so his various abilities will be adapted into quirks. Yes, quirks as in multiple.

Second: The powers of Gojo will be divided into four distinct quirks that will manifest one after the other throughout my childhood. In order they are: the Six Eyes, Limitless, Reversed Cursed Technique, and Unlimited Void. My physique will also be enhanced to a superhuman degree, but to a limited enough level that it shouldn't stand out too much.

After all, most characters in MHA seem to already have superhuman strength and agility even without quirks that should directly impact that.

Third and finally: I will be born into the world around the same time as the main protagonists. The world will be slightly adapted to allow for the existence of the Gojo family. The nuances of that will become important later.

By the time that I had come to my senses and muddled through all of the new information in my head about my wish, I found myself back in the office of the angel that had greeted me when I first arrived in the afterlife

(A/N: Some guy added this to his collection a few days ago and reminded me that it existed, then yesterday I felt the itch to write again so here we are. Of course I waited until the last possible day of my school break to do this so no idea when I'm gonna write the next one.)
