"Are you sure, a suitcase?", Demetrio asked the young man who lived across the street from Eva.
"Yes, some suitcases, I tell you, sir," the boy replied angrily; he had been telling him that for some time.
"Do you know where they went?" asked Demetrio before the man slammed the door in his face.
"No, sir," the young man replied, leaving him to talk to himself.
"Damn it!" snapped Demetrio in annoyance, where could his secretary be? She couldn't have just walked out and left him swamped with work.
Demetrio felt a lump in his throat, there was more than just work in his emotions. He felt his chest pounding and a tightness in his abdomen.
He went back to his car and called Antonio.
"Brother, find out where Evangelina's parents live, please stop now," Demetrio hung up the phone and went straight to the mansion.
He slammed the door shut. He looked angry, excited. He packed a small suitcase and sat down to eat in his large dining room, waiting for Antonio's message.
Luckily, in the information Eva provided, there was his parents' address in Georgia and within minutes, he had their location, all he needed was for them to be there.
He requested a flight and took a bodyguard with him. He felt safe in Florida, but not so much in another state. He was the most important heir in the country, so he had to take care of himself.
He landed in Georgia at six in the evening, and a car was waiting to take him to his beloved secretary.
...
Eva felt her world falling apart. Not just because she loved her new job, the pay was good, and it covered most of her expenses, but damn! She had to admit that something wasn't right with her, she dreamed about Demetrio every night, her cheeks got hot when he was around and a rage took over her every time she saw him with Tamara's slut, besides, the last few days at the company were chaos, The whispers in the corridors made her tired, not to mention that one day, when she went to the bathroom, she heard two girls talking about her being a dead fly and seeking Laureti's fortune, she was tired and had seized the exact moment to walk away. It was better before she got hurt.
She went to Human Resources and handed in her resignation letter, they informed her that as soon as Demetrio signed, they would give her a check with her severance pay, but she didn't wait for the money and left the company.
A tear ran down her cheek. It had been two months in which she had lived many experiences and emotions, but she was definitely tired of feeling exposed, she felt that at any moment her body would no longer resist the temptation to fall into the arms of her arrogant, sexy and perfect boss.
Early in the morning she caught a plane to visit her parents, it had been a long time since she had seen them and she took the opportunity to do so, maybe if she got a job there she would stay for a while.
As soon as she landed in Georgia, her parents were looking for her at the airport, although they were very different from Evangelina, they loved her too much because she was their only daughter.
Eva got off the plane. Waiting for her in the waiting room was a woman with short hair and delicate features, along with a slightly older man who looked a lot like Eva.
"Little girl, this way!" Eva smiled in the direction of her parents, who waved her over.
She walked a few steps dragging her large suitcase, but then old Guillermo approached her and, after hugging her, took the suitcase.
"My dear beautiful daughter," her mother kissed her cheeks and hugged her great treasure in an act of affection.
"Daddy, how are you, how is crazy mommy treating you?", Eva asked in his ear, not wanting her strange mother to hear.
"I'm trying to bring the devil," they both started laughing and walked in the direction of Eva's mother.
"But how nice you're back," Eva's mother said, taking Evangelina by the hand and dragging her to the outskirts of the airport.
Although they lived relatively close, they often went months and even a year without seeing each other. Eva's studies were always demanding and her parents, though both professionals, did not earn enough to always travel back and forth.
They got into the cab and in a few minutes they were at the house.
"I've prepared your favorite meal for you, honey, go get dressed and come downstairs to eat," her mother lovingly suggested.
Eva sighed as she saw her old room, although she had many fond memories of home, there was one that caused her the worst of feelings, it was the day she turned twelve, her breasts had started to develop and she was going from being a girl to a young lady, but something changed her life completely, her cousin Esteban had come home from the army at that time, he was four years older than her, but he looked older because of the hard training he was doing outside.
She had gone up to her room to get some of the new gifts, she was putting on a beautiful dress that Aunt Marta had given her, when he walked in the door.
"Hi Eva, what are you doing?" he said, looking her up and down shamelessly.
Eva was not yet fully dressed, so she panicked and covered herself with the rest of the fabric.
"Why are you covering yourself? You look beautiful like that," she remembered those words as if it had been yesterday, and it disgusted her because it reminded her of her great trauma.
When Esteban saw that she wouldn't stop covering herself, he ripped off her dress and threw her on the bed. Fortunately, Eva had always been a woman of character, and she hit him hard with an ornament that lit up her room at night.
Her eyes filled with tears at the memory, not only for that, but also for the memory that neither her mother nor her aunt believed her, it was easier for them to call her a liar than to simply believe in her, and her father was not there that day, he had gone on a trip. From there, she covered her body as best she could, it was something that invaded her mind.
...
"My daughter, your mother has already put dinner on the table, we are waiting for you," her father looked through the still open door, Eva turned to him with a smile. She adored this gray-haired man.
"I'll get dressed and come down, Dad," Eva told him.
He walked over to her and she could see sadness in his eyes.
"Is something wrong, Eva? You know you can trust me," he said, coming to her side.
"It's just that I remembered when I lived here, the nostalgia," she lied.
"Someday, when you're ready to tell me, I'll be here, Eva," he said, leaving her alone.
Evangelina hated lying to her father, but he had been suffering from a heart condition for years and news like that, which happened years ago, would surely kill him. He always overprotected her from everyone and if he found out he could kill her cousin with his own hands.
She put on a huge dress and went out to dinner, her eyes lit up when she saw the dinner that had been prepared for her.
Her mother was an excellent cook, the desserts were most exquisite.
They began to chat when there was a knock at the door.
"I'm coming!" said his father, rising to his feet immediately.
"It's your sister's witch with your nephews," said the father, making Eva feel her body burn.
"Stop talking like that," Luisa said reproachfully.
"Eva, you are here, you remembered the poor," said the cousin to Eva.
Everyone greeted Eva. Eva had begun to feel annoyed by Esteban's presence there.
"Aren't you going to greet your aunt, Evangelina?". Eva looked up.
"How are you, Aunt Marta?", Eva answered listlessly and began to devour the plate of food reluctantly.
"Girl, but you don't change, you're still just as conservative, you should be like your cousin who supports us thanks to her husband," said her hateful aunt, feeling offended.
"Well, Eva has more to offer than those glasses and that braces she doesn't need anymore," Esteban said, and everyone started laughing until Mr. Anderson took the floor.
"Leave my daughter alone, I resent you coming to my house to criticize, she has much more to offer than how she chooses to dress, she is intelligent and the value she demands is unmatched." Eva looked proudly at her father and smiled. Everyone was silent until the door rang again.
"Go away, woman," Mr. Anderson said, still annoyed.
The woman opened the door and stood expectantly when she saw two extremely elegant men of foreign origin.
"Is Miss Anderson in?" asked Demetrio.
Eva felt her legs tremble at the sound of her boss's voice.
"Evangelina, two men are looking for you," her mother said, letting them pass.
"Enjoy your meal, I apologize if I spoiled your dinner," Demetrio smiled half-heartedly. Eva felt a current run through her body. She could be sure her flower had begun to throb when she saw him walk through the door, stunning in a black suit.
"What are you doing here, Mr. Laureti?" Demetrio and Eva's gazes met, Demetrio breathed, trying to control the excitement of seeing her again, even though it had only been a day, he missed her and very much.
"Can we talk, Evangelina?" asked Demetrio, and everyone's mouth dropped open, even Evangelina's horrible aunt, who couldn't believe that a man as handsome and millionaire as Demetrio Laureti was there.
"Are you Demetrio Laureti?" asked Eva's cousin in amazement. There was no one who didn't know him, he was the man who had created the most applications and was also the heir to a fortune.
"Yes, nice to meet you," Demetrio smiled and greeted everyone pleasantly.
"Excuse me, that's my boss, I'm going to talk to him and I'll be right back." Eva stood up, trying not to fall over from the shock of seeing Laureti himself.
She walked past him and led him to a small break room in the back.
"What are you doing here, Mr. Demetrio?" asked Eva, her cheeks flushed.
"Eva, I need you to get back to work," Eva's hope of hearing something she knew she would never hear from his lips vanished! What did she want to hear?
"You came all this way to ask me that? I can't believe it, the arrogant CEO, the most important in the country, found his secretary in another state to come back to work for him." Demetrio clenched his hands, he was having a hard time giving in, but not only did he need Eva, but his inheritance was at stake.
"Please, Miss Anderson, I need you," Demetrio whispered.
"What did you say? I don't think I heard you," she replied mockingly, though she had heard him perfectly.
"For God's sake, woman! Don't make it harder for me," he demanded without looking at her.
For the first time, Eve clung to him a little, she needed to feel his body, his scent.
"I didn't hear you, Mr. Laureti," Eva said and moved closer. Demetrio felt intimidated by his secretary, for the first time he felt that the prey was him and not her.
"That I need her in the company!", Demetrio said loudly so she could hear him and pulled away a little before noticing the large erection that had grown in his pants.
Eva smiled and turned around with her back to him.
"Mmm... let me think about it," Eva said, placing her index finger on her cheek thoughtfully.
"For God's sake, Eva! What more do you want from me?", Demetrius said again with a straight face. Eva took the opportunity to take revenge for all the overwork Laureti had subjected her to the last few days.
"Easy boss, I have to think hard if I want to work sixteen hours a day, if I want to walk your dogs on weekends, if I want to see you having sex with your secretary in the office every moment."
"But don't see, practice on me," Demetrio replied with a sideways grin that made Evangelina's cheeks turn red.
"If I want you to harass me like that, Mr. Laureti," Eva became serious, causing Laureti to let out a few guffaws that everyone at the dining room table surely heard.
"I promise you no more dog walking, and no more overwork."
"And no more sex in the office," Eva finished off.
"Jealous?" said Laureti with a smile.
"Mr. Laureti," Eva folded her arms, though yes, she was dying for her boss to get rough with her. She pursed her lips, trying to control her thoughts.
"I promise there will be no more sex in the office," Laureti replied, not taking her eyes off her secretary's lustfully bitten lips.
"I'll think about it anyway, I'll give you an answer tomorrow," Eva held out her hand, a sign that they had important business to discuss, and escorted him out.
"I apologize again for the interruption, have an excellent evening," Demetrio said looking at everyone in the dining room, who were still talking among themselves.
"Eva, don't forget to think about it, if your answer is yes, I will pick you up early tomorrow morning." Eva smiled as she shook her head in agreement.
"If you'll excuse me, I'll go to my room," Eva said, wanting to escape her family's interrogation.
"Wait Eva, introduce me to your boss," Catia said.
"You know him," Eva looked at her with disdain. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to rest," she kissed her father on the cheek and locked herself in her room.
Once inside, she threw herself on the bed. She could still feel her boss's scent clinging to her body and his blue eyes boring into her mind.
"Demetrius!" sighed Eva, touching the back of her neck, which tingled at the memory of him. She could no longer deny it. She liked Demetrio Laureti.
