Aiden's pov
I was waiting near LaGuardia airport to pick up Cassandra. She was coming back to Brooklyn after 5 years. In these 5 years, she never visited us in Brooklyn, except once when our maternal grandpa passed away. During holidays also she did not want to come back home stating she might lose her interest and aim, as these are just distractions according to her.
Mom and Dad were too upset with her decision, but even they could not help it. Every year on Thanksgiving me, mom, Dad and Hazel would visit her and stay with her for a week but never the less we all could not celebrate all the holidays together as it was important for our family to stay here in Brooklyn for social events and other important events. Even Hazel stopped coming with us to the UK for 2 years, stating she had some college work.
But today I am finally happy knowing that Cassandra is coming back home. She stayed in the UK with 2 of her best friends, although they all did not make it to the same college. I offered her to come in one of our private jets but she declined saying she does not want to use it and she is happy to use the same plane as others and business class is fine with her.
I don't even know what happened to her, she was a fun-loving, carefree, nonchalant, easy-going girl. I can't even imagine what happened to her; she suddenly turned cold and aloof. It became too hard for me to understand her all of a sudden. We were too close to one another but in these 5 years, we got apart a lot.
I want my sister back who was a fun-loving, adventurous girl. For which I am ready to do almost anything. It's too hard to see her this way. She has built a high wall around herself. She does not let her emotions out, she always masks them with a smile, which I definitely know is as fake as the line goes "practically unsinkable" for Titanic ship.
It's now 9 pm and I expect her to be coming out. After nearly 20 minutes I see Cassandra coming out of the airport. She wore a simple outfit. She was wearing black ripped jeans and a plain black top and paired it with a matching jacket. She let her dark brown wavy hair with brown streaks at the tips down and was wearing a pair of sunglasses. She was carrying 2 large suitcases and a handbag.
As soon as she saw me, she came running to me and jumped on me so desperately that I lost balance but somehow I caught hold of her and my balance. I twirled her around and she was giggling like old times. I placed her down and kissed her forehead and said "Welcome back Cassie, oh my god I still can't believe I am seeing you here in New York".
She hugged me too tightly and we stood in the same position for almost a minute before she let go of me. "How noble of you that you came to pick me up, even with your tight schedule but I am delighted to see you Aiden" she said with tears in her eyes that were ready to fall any minute, then she pecked my cheeks.
"Cassie how much ever busy I am; I can never let anything come in between us. You are my first priority. More over my usual Saturday plans were canceled" I told her wiping her eyes.
She chuckled softly and said, "I am sure, I am not your first priority now, there is someone in that place now but how come you bailed out on your friends, I don't think they are ready to give up their special Saturday plans for you, so what's the catch?"
"Cassie I know, time is not that the same as before but I promise you, you are my first priority only, no one take up that place of yours, not even in the next few decades, even when I have grandchildren." she just rolled her eyes and hugged me and nodded her head.
I picked up her bags and carried them to our car and placed them in the back. I started my car and while driving out of the airport I told Cassie "Baby sister today's plans were canceled because as you know I could not make it and also Vincent told us some special plans months ago only. He was being clear that he won't be joining today. And Niklaus had some important clients to visit. Nolan was not busy Chloe had to attend an exhibition so she dragged him along with her as it's 5 hours drive from here. So we had to cancel our plans. By the way, how was your journey and where are your friends?"
"Aiden the flight journey was good tough I am super duper tired. Ryan did not come with us, he left yesterday only for a match. Cole and Avery had to catch an urgent next-minute flight to Manhattan, they will be back on Monday."
"How is everything here? How are you doing? How are Mom and Dad? How is your business?" she was so excited to know all about this, that her black eyes were shining with curiosity.
"Cassie everything is going good here. I am fine and the business is going all well, even on the racing track I am able to do some wonders. Mom, Dad and Hazel are doing great and they truly missed you. Also next week I heard gramps and grams are coming for family dinner and they have something important to tell us all" I finished off.
"Nice to know everything is going on great but I am worried about Gramp's and Grams's visit, last time they visited they put us through hell. They literally put Aunt Nina out of fortune stating she was having an extra-marital relationship outside her marriage to such a point that Aunt Nina committed suicide and her children were taken to foster care and we don't have an idea about them also" she stated terrified.
"Cassandra don't worry nothing like that will happen now. I think it will go smooth this time and I don't think they want to put anyone out of fortune now sending only dad is left." When I said this Cassie was laughing out loud.
Though I was 100% sure are fears might be true yet I told her everything will be nice, to comfort her. But no one knew their visit was not a simple lunch but a ticking time bomb destroying every other life, whom I cared deeply about. They never visit us in Brooklyn until they have shocking news for all of us.
"Princess, are you hungry? Do you want to have something?" I asked staring at her, when red lights come upon the road. She somewhat looks lost in her own world staring out of the widow. I thought since she is such a big chatterbox, she might talk non-stop about the last few years we missed out but I guess she is too tired to talk also, due to jet lag.
"No Aiden I don't want to have anything outside. Can we please go home and have dinner together? I do hope Mom has prepared something if not we can order from outside."
"Of course, Cassie mom did prepare a feast for your arrival. I just wanted to make sure you are up for quick bites." She just nodded her head.
I kept driving and questioned her "Cassie tomorrow dad is hosting a dinner party in your regards I hope you are ok with it." She just smiled at me and told she told she loved the idea.

Cassandra's pov
We reached home around 10:20 pm. I was completely exhausted from traveling. I got out of the car and took a look at the house. It looks the same, as it was 5 years ago with a lavish garden, fountain and big swimming pool to the exterior. The house was lit up in magnificent way and the glass windows enhanced its beauty overall.
