As Alexis and I sat down with her friends, everyone grew quiet. The fact that they watch things happen in each other's lives, like sex, and they don't mind it, was very new to me.
"So how have you been, Kasey?" Vicky asked and I looked over. "Good, thanks. Yourself?" I asked. "I'm okay. I'm assuming you guys came straight from the appointment?" She asked, glancing at both Alexis and I.
"Yes. We did." Alexis answered before I could. "The work clothes?" Vicky asked. "She came straight from work to the appointment and then we drove here. She's been here since." Alexis, yet again, answered for me but Vicky didn't seem to be buying it.
"Right. Well that's great." She said and then she started eating again. I felt Alexis gently pat my knee under the table before she went back to eating as well. "You know, I heard the Montgomerys had a charity gala today and the Kings were there." Vicky said. "I might be wrong of course." She finished looking straight at me.
