Marie and Blake arrived at the house. Marie unlocked the door and led Blake through the foyer into the kitchen. Blake smiled as this was the first time he was seeing Marie's home other than her room. Marie opened the fridge and pulled out two bottles of water and set them down on the breakfast bar before taking a seat. Blake took the seat opposite her.
Silence hung thick in the air as neither one knew where to start.
"Marie, I am sorry about the café. I should have been more clear with my words. I am sorry that i upset you and made you feel that way" Blake looked at Marie with sadness in his eyes.
Marie shook her head, her gaze unwavering. "you were clear Blake I know that. What happened was my own doing. My own fears, my past. I've been rejected before, and the thought of losing someone I care about again... it's overwhelming."
Blake reached out, his hand gently covering Marie's, a reassuring touch. "I know these last 24 hours have been, Crazy! but Marie believe me when I say, That i would not change them for the world. They led me to you. I have been waiting since I turned 18 to find my one and now I have" Blake smiled at Marie "and I will not be leaving you, rejecting you or anything else. You are mine"
Tears rolled down Marie's cheeks, as her emotions began to swirl around once more. Blakes touch felt warm and grounded her but her mind was running away again with the fear that he would soon realize she was not good enough for the Lycan king.
"You are the King of the werewolf land Blake, and what am i?" Marie pulled her hand free from Blakes grasp and stood from her chair as her emotions began to spiral further, " I am nothing. a broken human who is scared of her past and is controlled by her fears. I have nothing to offer the world as your mate or as their queen" Marie was now pacing the kitchen.
Blake could not not stand to watch Marie Spiral again he rushed from his seat and pinned Marie's body against the counter with his own to stop her from moving. "Please Marie, I understand your feelings, but I need you to calm down and breathe" Marie's hand landed on his chest and the mate bond spread through her body and the warmth radiated to every part of her body. Her shoulders relaxed and she let her head fall into his chest. " I am sorry" Marie whispered into his chest.
"Marie look at me" Blake lifted her chin to meet his gaze "I do not stand here and pretend to understand what you have gone through in the past. I only know small details and I hope that one day you will allow me to the know the rest but please know you are not a broken human, you are so much more than that and you are stronger than you believe" Blake continued to hold her gaze "Yes I am the Lycan king, and yes my title comes with certain expectations and responsibilities but you are now apart of my world and I want nothing more than to share my life with you"
Marie's heart swelled with a complex mixture of emotions. Blake's understanding, his willingness to include her in his decisions, was both comforting and reassuring. She took a moment to collect her thoughts. Before Marie could speak Blake placed a kiss upon her forehead.
"Marie, I want you to know that my pack, they're not strangers to the idea of humans being a part of our world," Blake started, his voice gentle. "My mother, she's human."
Marie's eyes widened in surprise, her gaze locked onto Blake's. "Your mother is human?" Marie's thoughts raced, her heart a mix of emotions. The revelation that a human had found acceptance within Blake's pack gave her a glimmer of hope—a sense that maybe, just maybe, she could find her own place within this world too.
"yes my mother is human and my grandmother and my great grandmother. All amazing strong humans who have stood by the side of each Lycan king for hundreds of years. You have no reason to worry about my pack" Blake smiled at Marie hoping his words were doing something to settle the tornado of emotions swirling inside his mates heart.
"But I'm not your mother, Blake," Marie's voice was soft, uncertainty still evident. "My past.." Blake cut her off not wanting to let more negative comments darken her heart. Blake's expression remained reassuring, his gaze unwavering. "No, you're not and yes you have a past. Everybody has a past Marie and I understand yours has been fucking horrendous But my point is that you do not need to worry that my pack will not accept you. I know they will accept you and love you because humans are engrained into the Lycan world and you don't need to worry if you could ever be enough for me because I am stood here now telling you that you are my world"
"blake.." Blake cut of Marie with a kiss " I want you to be a part of my world, Marie. I want you to meet the pack, to understand my life, and to share in our journey. But I don't want to pressure you. The decision is yours, and I'll respect whatever you choose." with that Blake moved away from Marie releasing her from being pinned between his body and the kitchen counter.
Tears welled up in Marie's eyes as she looked at Blake, her heart touched by his sincerity and the depth of his feelings. "I want to try, Blake. I want to be a part of your world, I want you, but i need your help with my fears"
"you have me forever and I will support you through anything" Blake leaned down and pressed his forehead against her "Does that mean you are leaving me with me?"
"yes" with those words Blake picked Marie up and she wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her upstairs to her bedroom.
