As Aeon walked home from another monotonous day of high school, his footsteps echoed through the empty streets.
The weight of his boredom bore down on him, with each step serving as a reminder of the unending repetition he yearned to escape.
Suddenly, a sharp crack shattered the silence, jolting Aeon from his thoughts. His heart skipped a beat as the sound registered in his mind, sending a shiver down his spine.
It was a familiar sound, one that stirred dormant memories of the past.
Fear and apprehension gripped Aeon as he scanned his surroundings, searching for the source of the ominous crack. However, there was nothing out of the ordinary—only dimly lit streets stretching out before him.
Continuing his walk, the reverberations of the crack resonated within him, awakening fragments of forgotten memories.
Aeon's mind raced, attempting to make sense of the inexplicable connection he felt to this mysterious sound.
Then, as he rounded a corner, reality shattered around him. The world transformed into an endless grassland, bathed in the gentle glow of the moon.
Aeon found himself standing in a place that felt strangely familiar, reminiscent of the haunting dreams that had sent chills down his spine.
While scanning the area, Aeon suddenly looked up and locked eyes with an enormous, silent observer.
Engaged in a silent stare-off, Aeon mustered the courage to speak. "What do you want from me?" he asked, recalling his previous encounter with the being that had caused him to faint upon hearing its voice.
In that moment, Aeon remembered the agonizing pain he had felt after hearing the voice before he fainted.
Determined to avoid a repetition of that pain, Aeon instinctively covered his ears. But it was of no use. Aeon still heard the voice.
"**** *** ** **," the being spoke, which Aeon heard, making Aeon brace himself for the agonizing pain. However, he only felt a slight headache.
"Ahhhhhhh!" Aeon screamed as the headache suddenly intensified. But it was only for a moment as the pain quickly subsided. Aeon, lacking the strength to remain standing, collapsed.
Aeon felt the power in his body slipping away as he slowly closed his eyes.
As Aeon lost consciousness, the 'Eye' silently stared at him for a moment, then decided to leave Aeon sleeping.
