As Aeon wandered through the grassland, his attention was drawn to something in motion. "What's that?" he wondered. With caution, Aeon walked towards the area where he had seen the movement. Gradually, he began to hear growling sounds.
"Grrrr... Grrrrr... Grrr." The closer Aeon got, the clearer the growls became. "Huh?" Aeon was taken aback when he discovered thirteen wolf-like creatures feasting on human corpses, precisely five of them. "Damn... They look like monsters from the depths of the abyss," Aeon cursed, witnessing the creatures devouring the corpses with an insatiable appetite.
Aeon slowly stepped away, intending to leave the scene, but one of the monsters suddenly looked up, making eye contact with him. "Awoohhhhh!" The monster howled, alerting the others of the intruder.
The remaining monsters turned their attention towards Aeon and started running in his direction. Momentarily surprised, Aeon quickly began to run as well. Glancing back, he saw the thirteen wolf-like monsters chasing after him.
One of the monsters leaped towards him, but Aeon swiftly ducked, narrowly avoiding the attack. As he crouched down, he found himself surrounded by all thirteen monsters. Despite the dangerous situation, Aeon managed to remain calm. "Huh... wait, they kind of look familiar," Aeon thought as he observed the monsters encircling him. "Awoohhhhh," the largest monster at the back howled, signaling the others to attack.
"He looks like the leader of the pack," Aeon pondered, studying the imposing figure. "Oh well... Let's end this. I'm starting to get irritated by the smell and noise." Aeon calmly surveyed his surroundings and uttered, "Stop." The world froze, and everything ceased to move.
Aeon looked at his surroundings and calmly walked to the scene where the monsters were eating the corpses. 'Damn, they got messed up real bad,' Aeon thought as he looked at the unrecognizable corpses.
Aeon was immune to this scene as he had once been a soldier at war. What he had witnessed there was far more gruesome than this. "Oh, there it is," Aeon muttered as he walked to one of the corpses. Aeon picked up a sword and knives, checked the other corpses for anything important, but found nothing except for an ID.
"Aeon Solstice... huh... he has the same name as me, what are the odds?" Aeon was genuinely surprised to see someone with the same name as him. Throughout Aeon's lifetime, he had never once encountered someone with the same name.
After he was done scavenging the remains, Aeon walked back to the monsters and calmly sliced and pierced their heads.
"Ahh, shit, it's been a while since I last held a sword," Aeon said after he killed all of the monsters, and then he walked away to avoid getting blood stains on his clothes if he continued time again.
"Continue," Aeon muttered as he watched the still world return to normal. The monsters that Aeon had killed plopped to the ground. 'It's time to move, maybe other monsters will come here smelling the blood.' With that, Aeon slowly walked away in the opposite direction of the forest.
