"The two of you are hitting it off," Death mused. "Almost too nicely, if you ask me."
"What do you mean by that?" I knitted my eyebrows together, causing the skin in between my eyebrows to crease.
"It's as if this is the calm before the storm."
I didn't say anything; I merely stared at the endless darkness of the In-Between.
"Did I hit the nail on the head?" He queried, tilting his head to the side.
I nodded, not wanting to expound it any further.
"Judging from the gist I got when I took your case," Death remarked. "The next one is of your last happy memories with Dante."
"Oh, so it's this memory, huh?" My gray eyes widened in surprise, and I bobbed my head. "That was fast; I thought there would be more."
"We can't see all your good memories with Dante, you know." Death reminded. "After all, we only--"
