"You think... they won't notice that you brought me there because... I'm hiding under your cloak?" My forehead creased in a deep frown as I gazed skeptically at Fake Death.

"Exactly," He nodded in affirmation, his face so serious that I realized he wasn't joking.

I tried to imagine Fake Death's plan in motion, only to come up with the stupid sight of me squeezed awkwardly behind Fake Death, his black cloak serving as a makeshift cover shielding me from the other Deaths' prying eyes.

The absurdity of the mental picture must have been evident on my face because Fake Death arched a single eyebrow, his crimson irises narrowing.

"I don't mean it literally, Evangeline." His voice sounded amused, though he spoke patiently as if explaining a complicated concept to a child. "Well, I mean it literally, but not in the way you're imagining it right now."

"So how?" I questioned; curiosity and skepticism filled my tone.
