When the pope said there is no way to increase their number of skills, many students who were anxious about their Skills became downhearted so. When Lotario began to say something, everyone Listened on with hope.
"It's good to see you all excited well, Skills aren't my forte therefore, Sir William will explain it all to you."

After Lotario said that he gestured to the knight standing behind him to take the stage.

It will be hard at first but after some time you all will get used to it. So, don't worry about it" The knight captain had a very informal way of speaking. Kelly and the others found his friendly attitude pleasant. They would have found it awkward to have people far older than them showing them respect anyways.

But for the students it was quite normal. It's nothing out of the ordinary for another world to have, 'status' system. Or so, they believed.

"Well, I say identification but basically when you place your hands on these platforms, it'll view your status as is and then that status will be copied to a plate, but that status on your card will not change with increase in your level. But still, with your basic information same even if you level up it makes good identification plates. And don't forget, this your time to flaunt your status in front of us isn't."
"And don't ask me how it works, it's a national secret" The Knight Captain said with a strained smile.

'Well, that's true if they are using these plates as identification card, they can't let someone mass produce it, it'll be disastrous otherwise,'
Every year new plates were produced under the strict supervision and control of the Holy Church in this nation as it doesn't only help them find people with rare skills and magic but also helps them keep a count on their population and not to say how reliable they are to identify someone.
The students all nodded in affirmation as they listened to his explanation. Once it was finished, they all gingerly closed their eyes and started concentrated. They were all surprise how easy it was and then in unison.
