Chapter 762 - CHAPTER 765: Killing Spree

The divine guards who had left Godswamp Pharmacy turned around. When they saw the figures of Han Shuo and Rose flying away from the tallest structure of Godswamp Pharmacy, they immediately chased after them.

At the same time, an angry roar sounded from behind them, "Damn it, it's a fake image!"

It was the voice of Salouhucci, the head of the Sixth Corps. He and a group of divine guards had been chasing the demon general for a long time. But when he finally caught up with the demon general who had taken Rose's form, he sensed that something wasn't quite right with the demon general's aura. Shortly after the discovery, the demon general vanished into the void. It became clear to Salouhucci that they had been chasing a false image all along.

Salouhucci could sense where the now invisible demon general was flying. At the same time, he heard shouts coming from behind him. He knew that he must have fallen for a diversionary tactic. So he decided to ignore the fleeing demon general and hurried back to the Godswamp Pharmacy, following Han Shuo and Rose with a group of divine guards.

"Hassling is dead! Hassling is dead!"

"Master is dead! Master has been murdered!"

Loud, panicked shouts came from the divine guards and workers of the Godswamp Pharmacy. The news of Hassling's death spread like wildfire. All the nearby divine guards quickly received the information.

The divine guards were all shocked by the news. Amidst the heavy fortifications and defences, the murderers not only attempted to return to Godswamp Pharmacy, but they also attempted to commit murder. Their brazen actions were nothing short of an insult to every divine guard in Hushveil City. It was as if the murderers were trying to say that the divine guards were all useless.

And worst of all, the murderers had succeeded!

For the Divine Guardians, this was the greatest humiliation and provocation!

"What?!" Salouhucci seemed to have been hit hard and erupted like a volcano. He panted like a berserk wild beast as he roared, "Get those motherfuckers! If they do not die, you all will!"

All the divine guards in Hushveil City seemed to have gone mad. They swarmed towards Han Shuo and Rose from every corner of the streets. Divine Guards from other corps also rushed in their direction after hearing the news. The street was flooded with divine guards. There was at least one Divine Guard every ten metres.

In every direction, there were divine guards from Hushveil City staring at the two of them. Unless they could turn invisible like Han Shuo's demon generals, there was no way they could cut off all visual contact with their pursuers.

Travelling close together, Han Shuo and Rose showed no intention of fighting. They charged towards the gaps between the divine guards. Even when they encountered a blockade formed by large groups of divine guards, they simply bypassed them and kept moving.

Several hundred divine guards were converging on the duo. If Han Shuo and Rose stopped moving for even a moment, the divine guards would be able to quickly surround them and an endless stream of reinforcements would be able to keep them trapped until all the experts of Hushveil City could reach them. Until then, no matter how extraordinary Han Shuo and Rose's strength was, they would have no chance of survival.

Han Shuo's figure streaked through countless buildings in the darkness. Even though he had tried his best to avoid the divine guards, he and Rose would still be discovered. They couldn't escape their pursuit.

The demon generals scattered around him were constantly moving around, telling Han Shuo the locations and movements of the divine guards all over the streets. Han Shuo's face was calm. His heart, mind, and consciousness were in absolute tranquillity. He quickly processed the information and scenes relayed by the demon generals and calculated the most optimal path.

The Divine Guard Chiefs of Hushveil City had unique means of communication through the energy towers and boundary towers that were found throughout the city. The Chiefs who were searching for Han Shuo and Rose in other regions soon received news of Hassling's death and that the murderers were on the run.

All the Divine Guard Chiefs were enraged by Han Shuo's outrageous act. Feeling insulted, the Chiefs gathered their elite Divine Guards and rushed in the direction of Godswamp Pharmacy. Hushveil City was filled with deafening whistles as they filled the air.

The stillness of midnight was shattered by the whooshing sounds of the Divine Guards streaking through the air. They shouted and screamed to pass on orders and information. They seemed to be filled with rage.

It didn't take long for the small family clans and commoners to realise that something major was happening in Hushveil City that night. Frightened, they activated the boundaries and seals to secure their homes. The energy towers that powered all of Hushveil City, as well as the boundary towers, began to burst with radiance.

Suddenly, the dark night turned into a bright day. It was as if the sun had risen in Hushveil City.

This made Han Shuo and Rose's situation even worse. They could no longer use the darkness of the night, and they became much more visible to the divine guards.

Rose felt quite worried. The energy towers glowing brightly all over Hushveil City meant that the two had alerted every major family clan in the city of their activities. It was an undesirable situation.

Han Shuo, however, just knitted his brows. He seemed to loathe the gaudy light glowing fiercely from the energy towers. He even let out a cold groan and showed a feeling of contempt on his lips.

As the environment became brightly lit and divine guards from other corps approached, Han Shuo and Rose began to have difficulty moving forward. There wasn't much of a gap between the divine guards surrounding them for them to break through.

An unfeeling thought crossed Han Shuo's mind. He had originally planned on not committing a massacre in Hushveil City. However, from the looks of it, Hushveil City seemed determined to cut him and Rose into a million pieces. As things had developed to this point, Han Shuo decided to abandon his original plan. The seventeen flying swords, glistening with splendour, swooped across the sky.

The divine guards blocking Han Shuo's path had just formed into a formation when the seventeen flying swords reached them. All of the divine guards struck by the sharp and terrifying flying swords began to melt away. They were quickly reduced to puddles of bloody liquid.

Han Shuo remained silent. He continued to fly forward, examining the situation around him with the demon generals. The seventeen flying swords in front of him would destroy anything and everything in their path. He was brutal, fierce and determined!

The seventeen flying swords were like a glittering juicing machine, sucking the life out of the divine guards that blocked Han Shuo's path. In a matter of moments, around thirty divine guards with Lowgod and Midgod strength were liquefied. Naturally, the Cauldron Spirit would take the opportunity to increase its strength. It flew out of Han Shuo's body to absorb the divine souls.

Han Shuo's face was calm. Strange lights flashed in his eyes, where the reflection of the seventeen flying swords could be seen.

With the seventeen flying swords paving the way, the divine guards in Han Shuo's way would be dead before they could reach Han Shuo. This made it impossible for the divine guards to encircle them. Han Shuo and Rose easily broke through the blockade formed by the divine guards. The divine guards did not stop them even for a moment.

Han Shuo and Rose left a trail of melting bodies wherever they went. The divine guards around the duo, watching Han Shuo ruthlessly murder anyone and everyone in their path, began to feel hesitation. A group of divine guards who had stood in Han Shuo's way, intimidated and frightened, made way for him.

The seventeen flying swords wasted no time in slaughtering those divine guards who were giving way, streaking past them like seventeen rays of light. Immediately after the seventeen flying swords passed, the figures of Han Shuo and Rose would swoosh past them, breaking free of the group's encirclement.

With the first group of divine guards setting an example, others followed. More and more divine guards, especially those who had witnessed the brutal deaths of their comrades, moved out of Han Shuo's way, allowing him to break through the layers of encirclement.

The Cauldron Spirit transformed into a dark shadow that moved directly behind the seventeen flying swords, concentrating on collecting the divine souls that had perished under the flying swords. He would also release a few demon generals from time to time to help out. Since there wasn't a single Highgod in their way, they were able to move freely. They managed to leave the Godswamp Pharmacy block.

But no sooner had they left the block than the Chief of the Second Corps rushed over. As soon as he saw the murderous Han Shuo, he rushed towards him and shouted in a cold voice, "Let's see where you can run to now!

Seeing that a Mid-stage Highgod was charging at him with a company of divine guards, while more divine guards were converging on him from many directions, Han Shuo abruptly changed his path and moved in another direction to avoid the Chief of the Second Corps.

Even if Han Shuo activated Ceaseless Pain to the maximum, it was still not possible for Han Shuo to kill a Mid-stage Highgod in a fraction of a second. Han Shuo was in a situation where every second counted. If Han Shuo wasted a few seconds on them, the Chief of the Sixth Corps would be able to reach him and the other Chiefs would be moments away from catching up. In that case, Han Shuo would be surrounded by a crowd of powerful experts and escape would be extremely difficult.

Therefore, Han Shuo decided not to be delayed by the chief. He simply avoided him and attacked a weaker wing of the encirclement.

Several divine guards, unable to react in time, were pierced by the loudly whistling seventeen flying swords. Their bodies, which would soon turn to liquid, were hurled high into the air in all directions.

The divine guards in Han Shuo's path instinctively stepped aside after witnessing the terrifying lethality of the flying swords. The Chief of the Second Corps, noticing their reaction, immediately shouted, "You must not retreat! Stand in their way even if it means your life!"

The divine guards, who had originally intended to retreat, decided to activate all the divine energy in their bodies upon hearing this command. With the divine weapons in their hands, they unleashed a wave of long-range attacks - not at the seventeen flying swords, but at Han Shuo and Rose as they charged towards them.

Since Han Shuo and Rose had begun their escape from the God Swamp Pharmacy, the divine guards had not launched a single ranged attack on the two of them, as they had moved at extreme speed and had not stopped moving for even a moment. Even if they did, it would be ineffective.

After Han Shuo had removed the seventeen flying swords, the divine guards standing in Han Shuo's way would have had a chance to attack Han Shuo, but they were so intimidated by the destructive power of the flying swords that the only thought that crossed their minds was to save themselves. They forgot to attack Han Shuo who was controlling the flying swords.

However, after hearing the Second Corps Chief's cry, the Divine Guards of the Second Corps cast off their fear of death and decided to sacrifice their lives. They unleashed all of their divine energy through their divine weapons. The ranged attacks went around the seventeen flying swords and shot at Han Shuo and Rose.

As expected, the seventeen flying swords landed on the divine guards. They had no chance against the flying swords and were completely shredded. But at the same time, the attacks they made before their deaths were just as inevitable for Han Shuo and Rose. The two of them had no choice but to slow down for a moment to defend against the attacks.

Although the few divine guards only had Midgod strength, their all-out attacks were substantial and powerful. Although Han Shuo and Rose were able to neutralise all of their attacks, they were delayed for a few seconds. During that brief moment, several hundred divine guards surrounded Han Shuo and Rose.

As soon as Han Shuo and Rose stopped moving, the divine guards were able to focus their ranged attacks on the pair. In an instant, several hundred bursts of brilliant light and oddly shaped divine weapons bombarded Han Shuo and Rose. The seventeen flying swords that were meant to kill had to return to Han Shuo's side to defend him from all kinds of attacks.

Rose's hair danced wildly. She was rapidly releasing her dark divine energy to create layer upon layer of boundaries to defend against the attacks of the divine guards.

This was the situation Han Shuo feared the most. No matter how powerful he and Rose were, it would be extremely difficult to withstand the attacks of several hundred divine guards, especially when one of them was the Chief of the Second Corps. Meanwhile, chiefs from other corps and more divine guards were on their way. If the trend continued, it would only be a matter of time before they were both dead.

Han Shuo immediately realised that if they did not break out of the encirclement soon, once the other Divine Guard Chiefs arrived, their fate of meeting death would be sealed.

But even in the worst possible situation, Han Shuo remained calm and composed. He wore an unperturbed face as he manoeuvred the seventeen flying swords, neutralising all the attacks that came his way with Ceaseless Pain. His mind quickly turned to find a way to break free of the encirclement.

Rose, who was beside him, seemed more and more tense. Gradually, a feeling of despair rose in her heart. Being surrounded by so many divine guards and seeing that many more were on their way, Rose thought that she will lose her life in Hushveil City.

<>Bang! The barrier of darkness Rose had erected was destroyed by the Chief of the Second Corps. Several bursts of divine Midgod energy landed on Rose, causing her to sway slightly. The Chief of the Second Corps, seeing that Rose was weaker than Han Shuo, smiled and focused his attacks on Rose.

Han Shuo's expression changed. He calmly instructed the Cauldron Spirit, "Release all the demon generals. I want all of Hushveil City to burn!"
