The depths of the Dark Forest were towered by ancient trees of great height, complementing the scents of flowers and plants, streams and hills. It was a beautiful scene, overflowing with vitality.
Rare, unusual plants sprouted as far as the eye could see. Any one of them could fetch a high price in the city. From the depths of the forest came the sound of explosions. It was as if the sky had fallen.
As Han Shuo ventured deeper, he discovered that countless complex and mysterious boundaries had been set up. These magical boundaries were not deadly. They were merely meant to prevent outsiders from entering.
Spider web-like magical threads were arranged to form a huge magical formation. This magical formation covered a large portion of the sky, creating waves of energy throughout the area, driving out any intruders.
Needless to say, this huge magical formation was man-made. Whoever had used this huge magical formation had probably not done so with malicious intent. The waves weren't particularly violent or turbulent, but rather mild and slow.
Han Shuo, standing inside the formation himself, could only feel waves of great power rushing towards him. It was as if he was being pushed by a few hundred orcs at once. The magnitude of the power was beyond Han Shuo's imagination. Fortunately, Han Shuo was the strongest of the strong. His physical body, which had been constantly forged by demonic arts over the years, had proven itself to be extremely brave in this situation. Despite the tremendous forces pushing against his body, Han Shuo was still pushing forward, inch by inch.
Surprisingly, in a place like this, the range that Han Shuo's consciousness could encompass was not as extensive as it might be elsewhere. He could only faintly sense that there was movement a few miles away from him. All of this only made Han Shuo more curious about what lay in the depths of the Dark Forest. He was determined to find out about the situation there.
The power generated by the huge cobweb-shaped magic formation couldn't stop Han Shuo. Using his sturdy and strong body, as well as his wonderful demonic arts skills, Han Shuo advanced step by step towards the deepest point.
Suddenly, the powerful forces pressing against him simply dissipated. He realised that he had broken through the formation. He looked into the distance as he marched on.
A greenish lake then appeared in front of Han Shuo. The lake resembled a huge piece of fine jade that had been cut to perfection. It was clear, pure and beautiful.
Han Shuo was in awe. He had not expected to see such a huge lake in the depths of the Dark Forest. But what baffled Han Shuo even more was that there were no fish or shrimp in the lake, not even seaweed. Very strange indeed.
As Han Shuo stepped forward, he was once again astonished. Having just stepped out of the enigmatic magical formation, when he took another step, the gravity around him felt at least ten times heavier. Even normal walking took all the energy he had.
In such places of increased gravity, duels would be tilted in favour of the person with the stronger physique. If a magus tried to fly using a levitation spell, his mental power would be consumed at a rate more than ten times greater than normal. Under these conditions, even a sacred magus wouldn't be able to maintain levitation for long.
However, the tenfold gravity hadn't had much effect on Han Shuo. All he had to do was use the Demonic Ninth Heaven Art and fly through it, albeit at a slower speed than usual. Bit by bit, he made his way towards the emerald green lake.
Han Shuo still pushed through with ease. The increased gravity was more of a nuisance than anything else; Han Shuo just had to use more power than usual.
A gust of wind blew from afar as Han Shuo reached the green lake. Before Han Shuo could react, a silver dragon appeared from the top of the green lake. It seemed unaffected by the increased gravitational pull, perhaps a sign that it was the one who had created the circumstances of the environment. It stood effortlessly in front of Han Shuo with cold arrogance.
"Return! You have no business in this realm," the silver dragon demanded.
He had a certain look in his eyes, full of that unwavering determination, as if nothing could stop him from doing what he had to do. He looked very formidable and powerful.
"What could be in there? Forgive me, just a little curiosity," Han Shuo inquired.
"It is none of your business, human, now leave at once! I will not ask again," he threatened as his body hovered above the green lake, twisting and turning with pristine elegance. His words were filled with the arrogance of a noble.
Dragons had always been overly proud creatures. They considered their own race to be supreme, the noblest and most magnificent of all. Be it humans, elves, orcs, or any other race, all but themselves were treated as inferior. This behaviour has existed since time immemorial. Just as the forest trolls were greedy creatures and the dark elves were lecherous, these traits were deeply ingrained in their subconscious.
Of course, Han Shuo did not shudder. Being in this realm, Han Shuo's strength was far superior to most of the larger dragons. He smiled and squinted at the silver dragon until the black of his eyes was barely visible. In a somewhat unyielding tone, he said, "What if I insist on entering?"
"Just know that I can force you out if I choose to," the dragon growled as his fist-sized nostrils expanded and contracted.
He swung his huge body around and summoned a hurricane. The hurricane swept Han Shuo off the ground and threw him away in an instant.
The added weight of the increased gravity was simply too much for a normal being to walk. The silver dragon had concluded that Han Shuo was a magus using a levitation spell after seeing him hover over the green lake. From his many years of experience guarding this place, no magus could ever resist the pull of his hurricane.
The silver dragon examined Han Shuo closely. In its eyes, Han Shuo was nothing more than a puppet waiting to be manipulated by the power of the Hurricane. As the hurricane took shape, the Silver Greater Dragon could almost see Han Shuo flying helplessly out of the green lake and back into the spider web-shaped magical formation.
Han Shuo snickered, "Do you really think that just because you have created this gravitational boundary, you have the right to do whatever you want?" Han Shuo fumed. As the hurricane struck, black rays radiated from all around him, as if his body had formed a thick, powerful cocoon.
Han Shuo was swallowed whole by the tornado. Enormous pulling forces tugged at his body. However, Han Shuo was unperturbed, still standing tall. The silver dragon had not expected such power.
"Impressive. An unusual human indeed!" the dragon praised. Then he twisted and swayed, and his huge tail suddenly swept over. When it saw that its hurricane had no effect on Han Shuo, it knew that this was indeed a worthy opponent and began to use its full power to stop Han Shuo.
"About time!" Han Shuo laughed. He stood his ground and prepared himself, then extended his two hands to form a strange hand seal.
A vicious energy that could topple the mountains and overturn the seas suddenly erupted from between Han Shuo's two hands. It took the form of a cylinder and bombarded the tail of the larger dragon as it swooped overhead.
The dragons were known for their strong, hardened physical bodies. Even a thousand-year-old tree would snap like a twig when struck by a dragon's tail. However, before the dragon's tail could get anywhere near Han Shuo, the enormous power that came from Han Shuo's hand seal landed on the dragon's tail. Not only was the dragon unable to withstand the immense weight on its tail, but it also hurt as if its tail had been set on fire.
Whenever Han Shuo launched an attack, he made sure to be relentless, leaving no room or counter-attack for his opponent, and to take advantage of any opportunity that presented itself. As the demonic yuan spread through his body, he felt a jolt in his flying speed. Before the silver dragon could react to the pain coming from his tail, he felt Han Shuo, tiny in comparison to him, climb onto his back.
Dong! A punch was thrown and landed on the dragon's body. That terrifying energy erupted once again, and the dragon could barely stand it.
Such power! Is he really human? The silver dragon was shocked. He dared not stay any longer. He fled the scene before Han Shuo could strike a second blow.
Han Shuo didn't interfere with it, but followed it unhindered deeper into the forest.
Once they were out of the green lake, the increased gravitational pull dissipated and everything returned to normal. Han Shuo expanded his consciousness and was immediately overwhelmed. He looked out at the scene with a solemn gaze.
Directly in front of him was a spectacle. Bolts of lightning remained static in the sky, tearing it apart. Sparks flew as clouds of smoke rose.
The blue sky seemed to be truly torn apart. As faint smoke rolled in with the lightning, remaining still and bizarre as it was, several mysterious doors formed in the sky.
Many brightly coloured lights illuminated the doors, seven in all. Each was assigned to a demigod being, except for the one closest to the edge.
There were two larger dragons of forty or fifty metres, one silver and one golden, both rank five beings. Next were two thirty-metre titans, colossal to say the least, and also of demigod strength. The remaining two were green-skinned orcs dressed in some unusual clothing. They appeared to be an orc warrior and an orc shaman.
Each of these six creatures of different races guarded a separate doorway. They had this intent as if they were resisting some sort of unknown enemy. Han Shuo could clearly sense the incredible strength they possessed as they all seemed to have unleashed their maximum power.
Six demigods from different races. A truly formidable force!
Below the sky was a huge canyon. A dozen or more titans appeared, as tall as the mountains, accompanied by about twenty dragons. Each wore a solemn, tense expression as they watched the changes in the sky with their heads raised.
According to the legends, the Titans had the strength to rival the gods. These tales had been circulating since ancient times, yet ordinary humans had never even seen this race. Beings such as the Ridge Giant and the Cyclops pale in comparison to a Titan.
The Titans were said to be the favoured children of the earth and the most powerful creatures in the world. They possessed such great strength that they could confront the gods single-handedly...
All the legends of the Titans flashed through Han Shuo's mind. Back then, Han Shuo hadn't been convinced that the legends about the Titans were true. But now that he could see their enormous figures with his own eyes, there was no point in doubting their glory. He reckoned that just one of these Titans could lay waste to an entire city.
Roar! A roar echoed from the canyon.
Dazed, Han Shuo hastily glanced towards the canyon. He saw a hundred metre long Primordius Dragon wrapped around the top of a mountain. Han Shuo had never seen a dragon of this size before. Its body radiated an energy that made even Han Shuo's heart race.
The folklore about the Primordial Dragon was one of the most widespread on the Profound Continent. Legend had it that the Primordial Dragon had guarded the Profound Continent since ancient times. It silently maintained order on the continent. Whenever events occurred that threatened the lives of all races, the Primordial Dragon would appear to maintain the order and stability of the Profound Continent.
With a single glance, Han Shuo could be certain that this larger dragon, one hundred metres in length, was indeed the Primordial Dragon of legend. This greater dragon exuded a mighty presence, more overwhelming than that of the Saintess Han Shuo had met on the Sacred mountain of the Church of Light. Han Shuo believed that even the six-horned tribal king of the Soul Race would be no match for the Primordial Dragon.
Without a doubt, this Primordial Dragon possessed the terrifying power of a true god!
