For this reason, when he sees the Desert Pirates' boat approaching, its sails billowing in the wind, Kaito turns his gaze to the Sand Spreader, and in a moment of pure survival instinct, Kaito and the wounded creature start running together, in the same direction, side by side, leaving the previously interrupted battle behind.
However, they are both very slow. Kaito is slow because the long exposure to two suns has weakened him too much, and the Sand Spreader is badly wounded and heavy.
