Chapter 1 - Prologue 1: The Whispering Nightmare

A small kid seemingly 6-7 years of age was weeping while trying to wipe his tears using both his hands, his eyes swollen from crying, his cheeks flushed and he was walking on the streets while others just ran past him or laid on the ground lifelessly.

"M-Mommy–Hik–W-Where are you–Hik–Mom…..eek"

Thwack-!--

Suddenly a man who came out of nowhere bumped into the lost kid, the kid lost its balance and fell on the ground while the man just turned to look at the kids direction once and then continued running frantically just before….

Crash!

Splatter!

"Aagh!-"

"N-No save me!"

"No i-i don't want to die no…."

"Spare–Ugh"

Once tall skyscrapers were now scraping the ground, cars crashed on the sidewalks and people's corpses were lying on top, inside and everywhere.

Dismembered body parts, blood and guts were splattered all around and the once impeccable infrastructure of the city of Manhattan were reduced to dust.

And all this was caused by a single entity, but one such entity which couldn't–or rather is not even considered human anymore, the one single entity that's now hailed as the living catastrophe–"The Whispered Nightmare".

***

A full body Vanta black suit, which covered each and every single crevice of the wearer's body, a pair of black angelic wings and a menacing stance–while floating above the now ruined site of Manhattan City.

The personification of death and chaos, the one whispered as the catastrophe–he was "The Whispered Nightmare".

Surrounding whom stood a number of sillovets whose clothing choices could only be considered–for a lack of wor..better word–Unique.

One was wearing a knock off Superman suit while the other was wearing a full body jumpsuit with a mask on, and one was even wearing a skin tight suit akin to a scuba diving gear…and so on.

Their costumes left much to be desired, but their stance was firm while glaring collectively at the black abyssal figure who floated in the air like he owned the air itself.

"Your days have ended Nightmare, time to wake up to reality"

"You Monster, you shall die a miserable death–no,no,no you don't even deserve to die, you shall suffer for eternity"

"You can't be human and so you shall not be considered one after being captured–just you wait"

The people surrounding the black angel of death all spoke in an enraged tone–trying to calm their anger.

While the black figure only shook his head in disappointment before looking up towards the sky.

"Ah, My love when will you come"

He mumbled softly, but this to the others only seemed like an act of giving up as their laughter echoed.

"Haha–look at this, after killing so many innocents you think even god will bat an eye much less save you–you monster"

"That's right even the–huh"

But before the one speaking could even finish what he was speaking his vision turned black and his consciousness faded.

Swish!

Thud!

"Aak–no–i-its power man, power man is dead"

The screams of people in despair and agony came together to form a beautiful symphony, flowing into one's ears as it soothed one's mind–for the black figure that is–for the others it was a Nightmare…an utter nightmare.

"Y-You killed power man–you batard"

"No-stop Cyan cooler don't go in recklessly–no"

But before anyone could do anything the black figure once again snapped his wrist and just like that the woman named Cyan cooler's decapitated head and headless body fell to the ground, intensifying the screams and despair filled cries of the citizens of manhattan.

"S-Stop it you monster why are you–"

But alas the black figure was not interested in making any small taks, he only moved his hands to his side and turned around, but this simple gesture was enough to decapitate all the others surrounding him, with loud thuds their lifeless bodies fell to the ground.

The screams of women, children, men and some other things reached at all time high, "hehe, this is what they call Record breaking performance"

The figure chuckled innocently as it just danced around in the air and without any hitch matching his moves with the screams of the wailing and helpless–"aah, it's time for dinner, a shame i have to end this here"

Then with an audible sigh the black figure's wings which were previously folded opened wide, their length almost double the black figure's height.

Black feathers danced in the air as they fell down towards the ground.

The black figure raised both his hands as though he was in an orchestra, before bringing them down in a swift motion, along with this harmless gesture–a loud crash reverberated in the surroundings before all one could hear was silence–an absolute eerie silence.

The black figure only nodded its head in satisfaction before disappearing into thin air–no it did not disappear, it just flew away at such a high speed.

On that day 1.4 million lives were lost and the cause–a musical concert by The Whispered Nightmare-and the artist's–the 1.4 innocent civilians.

"Emma, can you call Avery for dinner–he has locked himself in his room again~"

"Hmm~, ok mother"

Tak!

Tak!

The sounds of slow and steady footsteps echoed inside the hallway as someone entered the second floor of the house.

Tak!

Suddenly the footsteps stopped and a knock echoed.

Knock!

"Brother~, Dinner's ready come out~"

A sweet and gentle voice echoed inside the dark room in which a pair of crimson eyes were glistening dimply.

"I am coming in~"

Click!

Squeak!

With a squeaking sound the door to the room opened and light entered the dark room, lighting it up subtly.

"Huff–bro, how many times do I have to say to you–turn on the lights when you are inside"

Puffing up her cheeks, the girl named Emma moved as she turned on the lights.

And what revealed was the figure of a boy seemingly 16 years old with black hair and crimson eyes paired with his pale almost porcelain like skin which accentuated his appearance even more–but even though gifted with such an appearance the boy named Avery was wearing a white jacket with a hood over his head.

As he pulled down the hood to cover his eyes from the light, he squeaked.

"Ah–sister, i am coming"

His sister Emma only shook her head as a playful smile emerged on her face as she approached Avery before jumping on him and giving him a peck on the cheek.

He was momentarily stunned as he touched his cheek.

Emma only giggled softly before leaving his room.

Soon the stunned expression on Avery's face was exchanged with one of indifference as he slowly made his way towards the dining hall of the room
