Quantum Quicksilver, that's the name of Emma's superpower, and it's a unique superpower.
Superpowers that are only found in one person with no other counterparts used by another, those superpowers are considered unique superpowers.
Although not much is known about quantum quicksilver–the least we know is that it makes Emma move extremely fast.
Emma and the boy both glared at each other and as soon as the person in charge gave the signal both the participants shot forwards, but before the boy could even take 3 steps Emma was already beside him.
Giving the boy no time to react Emma crouched down before using a leg sweep trying to make her opponent fall.
The boy, although struck by a leg sweep, only tumbled back a few steps before regaining his balance.
"Tch, superhuman strength"
Emma spat in a frustrated tone.
The boy only smiled subtly before stomping on the ground.
Thump!
Crack!
The metal platform beneath their feets cracked as the boy shot toward Emma.
Emma wasn't flustered in the least and she only responded by side stepping, avoiding his attack completely or so she thought–"huh!?"-- the boy spun his torso in mid air before using his momentum to deliver a roundhouse kick to Emma's head.
Emma, due to using her speed just a moment prior couldn't change her direction and so could only bring her arms up trying to cover her face–twack!
Crack!
The kick landed and Emma suffered the full brunt of the force, the bones in her arms cracked as a chilling pain ran down her body causing her to groan in pain.
"Grrr….argh"
"Ahhh….ahhh…."
Emma panted heavily as she was exhausted, the speed she was moving at was just too fast but she endured the pain as her left leg sprang forwards threatening to land a front kick on the boy's abdomen–but the boy only grinned as he stood there taking on the full brunt of the kick.
Thud!
But! The kick only made him bend forwards but he instantly recovered before grabbing her leg and about to throw her out of the platform towards the ground–but just before she slammed on the ground her body froze in the air.
Everyone including the person in charge of the exam and the boy all were stunned, even Emma who was barely opening her eyes was a bit shaken–but soon a small smile appeared on her face as he mumbled softly.
"Avery", just before she fell unconscious.
The medics who were about to reach out to Emma froze as a boy wearing a white jacket and a hood approached Emma caressing her cheeks he said, "Rest well sister, I will end the fool who tried to hurt you", his voice had a hint of killing intent mixed in it.
Avery looked towards the person in charge, but before the said person could even say a word Avery's gaze fell on the boy.
The boy only waved at Avery with a small smile before gesturing to him to come.
Avery made his way towards the platform, "cadet 666 and cadet 107 are you ready!?", The person in charge shouted.
"Yes"
"Hmm"
Avery only nodded his head before looking at the boy who was glaring at him.
A small smile appeared on Avery's face which soon faded going unnoticed by everyone.
"Start"
As soon as the person in charge announced the start of the match the boy who was about to move forward found himself being unable to move, as soon as he realised something was wrong he looked towards the person in charge only to feel as though something was wrong, but before he could even move his head–
Splutter!
A hand plunged into his abdomen.
"Aargh–ukh"
The boy cried out in pain as he looked at the figure standing in front of him.
Avery had stopped him from moving before plunging his hands in his stomach, Avery only looked into the boy's eyes as a sinister smile appeared on his face.
"Aargh…..ahhhh"
The boy moaned in pain as Avery's hand slowly twisted while still being inside his stomach.
Avery didn't stop as he pulled his hands from his stomach only to grab the boy's head before slamming it on the ground.
Splat!
Splat!
Splutter!
Avery slammed his head on the ground against and again, a pool of blood slowly formed on the platform as the spectators watched–horrified.
Avery slowly rose to his feet before grabbing the boy's arms and slowly twisting them in an unnatural way.
"Arrgh–s-stop it…"
The boy cried out in pain as snot and tear covered his face–but nonetheless Avery was just getting started.
Twack!
Avery's fist landed on the boy's face making the already unrecognisable face even more of a mess.
Twack!
Twack!
The onslaught of punches continued, before Avery's grip which was holding the boy's head started to tighten.
"Argh…uukh"
The boy now couldn't even form words because of the extent of his injuries, blood was clogging up his windpipe.
Avery who had been toying with the boy until now with speaking a word finally opened his mouth, "Truly Pathetic–and here i thought that superhuman strength was actually a formidable power–but it turns out it's just a glorified pump"
Avery chuckled as his hands plunged itself into the boy's chest making its way towards his heart.
Right then…..
"Cadet 666 stop this right this instance"
A loud voice reverberated across the whole field as a woman with white hair and grey eyes landed near the platform, she was wearing a grey outfit with a full face mask hiding her appearance–she looked around only to see the person in charge of the test laying on the ground unconscious foaming from the mouth and all the cadets having horrified expressions on their faces.
One of the cadets mumbled to himself as he looked at the woman, "Plasma pulse!".
"Hmm, what now i was told that the match won't stop until one of the fighters is about to die"
Plasma pulse only squinted her eyes as she looked at Avery's bloody appearance–of course! none of that blood was shed by him–all was his opponent's.
"You–you were about to kill him"
"Kill, oh no no no, how can I do something so horrible"
Avery said in an innocent tone as he took his hands back out from the boy's chest before throwing him on the ground.
Splat!
Plasma pulse looked at Avery for a while before gesturing for the medics to recover the body.
Plasma pulse then looked at the person in charge before pointing at his unconscious body.
"So? What happened to him"
She looked at Avery questioningly to which Avery only shrugged before making his way towards the medical bay.
"Stop! Where do you think you are going"
"To see my sister"
Avery said not even sparing plasma pulse a glance.
Plasma pulse an A-Rank hero, she was widely respected by her peers and now she was being ignored by a brat–unacceptable.
But before she could as much as take a step, two silhouettes appeared before her making her stop in her tracks as her eyes widened.
Techa Nexus and Twisted mind, both S-Ranked superheroes, both grabbed one of Plasma pulse's shoulders before dragging her back to the Academy.
The cadets seeing this couldn't help but but feel a bit discouraged after all, the girl and the boy who fought previously were extremely strong and what's more the boy who came at the end toyed with one of those strong opponents like they were a ragdoll.
