ELVIRA'S POV
5 years had passed and now my daughter is turning 5 years old.
I am just waiting for her outside of her school to surprise her. I was so busy this past few days to the point that I can't fetch her from school.
Her Nanny, is the one who's taking care of her while I am working. Her name is Hazel. She's half Australian, and half Korean.
"Hey, Fate!" I called my daughter.
Her jaw dropped when she saw me. She ran towarsa me so I carry her so I can hug her.
"Mommy, you're here. I'm glad!" She said.
Ohh! You don't have an idea how I love her aussie accent.
"Yes. Sorry 'cause Mommy was busy this days. But I am here now." I said.
"It's okay. Yet it is not okay too."
"And why is that?"
"Because I want something." And yeah, that's it. I know what she wants.
"A new book?" I asked.
"Nope." Or not.
"We have a sem-break. So I want to go to another country. And I won't no for an answer because my birthday is also coming."
Yeah. She's brat.
I tried so much to stop spoiling her what she wants but I just can't stop because everytime she got what she wants, she's showing me her cute dimple and smiled cutely.
But of course I am always telling her that not everytime she'll get what she wants. And hindi lahat ng bagay, makukuha niya. She agreed with that but sometimes, she's not.
"Hmmm... Now you want to go to another country huh. But anyways, since your birthday is coming then maybe we can go."
"Yay! Then can we go to Philippines?" She asked that made me stunned.
"Please Mommy. I wanna see Grandpa. You are always showing me his picture but it is not enough. I wanna call him Grandpa in person." Pamimilit niya.
"Sorry baby but it is not that easy to saw him because he's a businessman. And he's so busy."
"I know that, Mommy. It's okay for me even from a far. I just wanna see him in person. Or maybe just a quick glance." She's really determined to see her grandpa.
Sane with me, tho. I also wanna see my Dad and Cindy. But what if, magkita sila ni Jax?
Hindi imposibleng hindi niya mamukhaan si Fate.
But... Maybe her Grandpa deserves to see her granddaughter.
I sighed. "Okay fine. But only for two days. And after that we are going to Korea since Mommy have something to do."
She smiled. "Yes! Yes! Yes please! I wanna go to Korea also! I wanna see Daddy Aries." She said so I smiled.
Aries is currently in South Korea right now and he'll comeback in one month so I have a plan to surprise him.
ILANG araw lang ay paalis na kami papuntang Pilipinas.
"Mamimiss ko kayo." Weng said.
"Mawawala lang naman kami ng ilang araw eh." Sabi ko.
"Ilang araw? Yung sabi mo nga sa Dad mo na babalik ka agad, inabot na ng limang taon." Sabi naman ni Tina but I just laughed at her.
"If matagalan. Then alam niyo na." Sabi ko.
I told them that I am not yet ready to face Fate's father. And I don't want him to see her daughter yet. So if they met maybe we'll stay in Korea for a year or just a month.
"Susundan ka naman namin kahit saan pa kayo magpunta eh." Sabi ni Weng kaya nag-thumbs up ako.
"True friend. True friend." I said.
"Sige na nga. Baka maiwan pa kayo ng flight niyo. Ingat! Dalhan mo kami pasalubong galing Pinas. Pa-LBC mo na lang if di ka agad makakabalik." Pahabol pa ni Tina kay tumango ako.
Sumakay na kami sa taxy at nagpahatid sa airport.
"Are you ready?" I asked Fate because she's been silent kanina pa.
"Yes Mom. I am just too excited that I don't know how to express it." She said so I giggled.
You know what she has that amazed a lot of people?
"¿Quieres ir a España donde nació tu madre?" (do you also wanna go to Spain where your mother were born?)
"Sí, por favor, quiero ver y experimentar el estilo de vida en España." (Really? yes please, I wanna see and experience what's the lifestyle in Spain.)
"(what do you mean? you want to stay in Spain for a year, so that you can experience it?)"
"Si vous me le permettez, pourquoi pas?"
"What?"
"Oppss. I forgot to tell you that I've learned another language this year." My jaw dropped when she said that.
Her being a multilingual amazed me so much. I only know Spanish and Korean so I teach her how to speak that language. But then she enjoyed it so much to the point that this year she learned how to speak another language.
"What language is that?" I asked.
"French." She answered proudly.
In her young age, I already tell that her IQ is so high. She's near to the word genius yet so far.
"Keep it up, baby. But don't use that to Mommy. Are you learning another language again?" I asked.
"Yes. I am learning Japanese right now. I don't know, Mommy, why is it so easy for me to learn that?"
"Because you are so smart. And Mommy is so proud of you for being like that. But please don't use your brain sometimes. It will lead you to become crazy. You are still a kid so just enjoy your childhood." I told her.
"Ohhh.... Okay. I'll stop after I learned Japanese. I'll continue it when I am in grade school."
"You are still a kid that time. Maybe after grade school." I bargained.
"K. Fine." Parang napipilitan pang sagot niya.
NANG MAKARATING KAMI sa Pinas ay nagstay muna kami sa isang hotel to rest.
Kinabukasan pumunta kami sa mall to buy some extra clothes. But then suddenly Fate got lost.
We've been finding her pero nandoon lang pala siya sa harap nung pet store.
She's been there staring at the cute golden retriever puppy. So I had no choice to buy it for her.
"Eli, my cutie baby." She said while patting her dogs head.
She's carrying her puppy even though we already bought a leash for Eli. We also bought some clothes for her pet.
And after nun ay pumunta kami sa vet para ipa-groom siya.
Pero kung minamalas ka nga naman, ang may-ari pa pala ng vet ay si Lancer. I had to make a reason to my daughter para lang di na ako pumasok sa loob.
Binilinan ko na lang si Hazel sa mga dapat bilhin for Eli and susunduin ko na lang sila kapag tumawag siya.
But the truth is nasa malapit lang talaga ako nakaupo at nagiintay.
I am just waiting when my phone rang.
It's Aries.
"Where are you? I wanna surprise you guys but you are not in your house." He said the moment I answered the phone.
"Chill. We are here in the Philippines."
"What?! When?"
"Yesterday we arrived here. We have a plan to surprise you in Korea but I guess it's not gonna happen anymore."
"Text me your address where you are staying and I'll be there. My poor Fate, I'm sure she missed me already." I smiled when I heard him saying that Fate missed him. Well, it's true.
"Okay. But wait, you just came back in Australia. Why don't you just rest for a while." I suggested.
"Nope. I don't want to. I wanna see her. I have some gift for her from Korea. Wait me there." He said at binaba na ang tawag kaya tinext ko na lang sa kaniya ang address.
And he said he's coming. Well, he owns a private plane so it's not impossible na baka mamaya or bukas nandito na siya.
Nang makitang palabas na sila at may dala na si Hazel na mga paper bags ay saktong nag-ring ang phone ko.
KINABUKASAN ay pupunta kami sa MOA para igala si Fate. Pati na rin si Hazel dahil ito ang unang beses na pumunta siya sa Pilipinas.
Pagdating sa MOA ay gusto agad ni Fate na sumakay sa carousel kaya pinasakay ko na. I am taking a picture while she's enjoying her best life.
After she ride a carousel ay masaya na siya agad. After nun ay naglaro kami at nakakuha kami ng isang malaking teddy bear.
And then kumain na muna kami saglit sa may gilid ng Manila Bay.
"I'll just going to buy some coffee, wait for me." Sabi ko kaya tumango sila.
Pumasok ako sa coffee project at bumili ng isang latte. I also bought a strawberry shake for Fate and an iced Americano for Hazel because it is her favorite.
But then nang lalabas na ako ay may nakita akong tao na di ko inaasahang nandito rin.
He's smiling while staring at my daughter who's sulking while carrying her puppy.
Iba na ang porma niya ngayon. Well, I heard he's now a businessman of a real estate company. He bought the company na saamin sana na pinagawa ni Dad.
I can tell that his life is now good.
Agad akong lumabas at lumapit kay Fate. "Sweetheart, I'm here. Sorry if you got bored. Let's go! He's waiting for us already." Sabi ko at hinila na sila paalis.
"He? Who?" She asked.
Sandali pa akong lumingon sa likod ko pero agad rin akong umiwas nang makitang nakatingin si Jax. Nagmadali na agad kaming umalis doon at sumakay ng taxi pabalik sa hotel.
Hindi. Hindi pa ngayon.
