Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Trauma

School is a place where teenagers often make friends whether they are boys or girls, they can make friends and memories while in elementary school, middle school or high school. It doesn't even stop there, they can also go to university, sometimes to find a life partner there and live happily ever after.

However, is it all just in the imagination of each person?

And why did Tendou shiver and lost his focus when he heard that he would be sent to the top school in the country of Veda?

Tendou couldn't stop thinking about it and in the end, his mind was filled with thoughts of terrifying thoughts.

Why was that?

Tendou's past in the previous world was the reason why he could not stop the panic within him.

Because this had something to do with his brother's death where no one he knew was by his side.

There was no one there to give him words or calm him down. And even when he returned to the school, all his friends shunned him and said he was actually a bearer of bad luck.

The rumor had been around from the first day he came to the same school as his brother and it all happened because Tendou's schoolmates in middle school spread the rumor.

"Meet him, he's my little brother that I love so much" However, it was his brother who was the savior of his life, leading him to have many friends in high school.

However, that did not last long.

" He's a real calamity. Even his own brother..."

That was what made Tendou shut himself in his room for an entire year. Not going to school, and only playing games all day long to fill his empty mind since his brother's death.

And sure enough, ever since his brother's death Tendou's life had fallen apart.

And now, that was what was on Tendou's mind. Feeling isolated at school, shunned by his friends, hearing rumors of bad rumors about him, Tendou did not want that to happen in his new life.

"Is there something on your mind, Slave 1?" Meika's words woke up the lost in thought Tendou who was unable to continue his training in his own room.

"Y-Your Highness? M-I'm sorry, I did not hear Your Highness enter."

"I knocked on your door many times but did not hear you answer, I thought you were sleeping."

"F-Forgive me." The king's arrival made Tendou even more anxious precisely because it was Meika who made the suggestion to send Tendou and Kyosuke to school.

But of course Tendou could not refuse it seeing how the king had treated him well.

If you think about it once again, he feels embarrassed especially considering that Tendou has bad thoughts like the king will replace Tendou with another slave.

"Does this have anything to do with my order to send you to school?" Meika asked Tendou.

Tendou was very surprised as the king was able to guess exactly what was on Tendou's mind.

Nervously, he replied, "I-That, no..."

But he could not finish his sentence, thinking he had almost lied to the king. Although it was not a lie that caused harm, but to Tendou, lying to someone who had treated him so well was the same as betraying him.

"Honestly, Your Majesty, it is true."

In the end, Tendou spoke the truth. Because he knew that lying would not solve the problem and would probably lead to more complicated matters.

But instead, the king just smiled at Tendou, leaving him in confusion.

Tendou tried to engage the king in conversation but the king remained silent in his reverie.

"Then what are you going to do, Slave 1?" The king suddenly cut Tendou off.

And of course the question made Tendou's body tremble once again. However, Tendou did not want to disappoint the king.

He did not want to make the people of the new world disappointed in the "Slave 1" whose news had just spread throughout the country. There was no way the "Slave 1" who was rumored to be one of the king's bodyguards with great potential, was afraid of going to schoo, right?

Tendou, would not shame the king like that.

"I... will do my best" Tendou said.

Once again, the king smiled proudly at Tendou's emphatic reply and seeing the king's expression, Tendou was puzzled.

'Why does he look so proud of me when no one has ever even smiled at me before?'

Tendou tried to hold back the tears, not wanting the king to see his embarrassing state.

He tried to be strong, once again he wanted to conquer the trauma of the old wounds that still lingered within him.

The old wound that haunted him with regret.

Tendou would conquer it all, for the sake of the king who had been treating him kindly.

"Alright, then come with me." Meika said.

Without asking again, Tendou followed Meika. As a slave, it was his duty to follow the king's orders, no questions asked.

And they finally arrived at the king's room, where he always worked from morning to night. A sacred room, which only certain people could enter.

"Come in."

"B-Good, Your Majesty."

The room was not very luxurious, it was similar to the room of the leader of the country on Earth. Tendou thought there would be many precious items prone to theft, thinking that not many people would be allowed to enter the room.

By comparison, even the outer rooms of the palace looked more luxurious than Meika's own room. Was he being modest? Or was there a reason behind it all?

After the king invited Tendou to sit down, Tendou hesitantly placed his body on the chair available in the room thinking whether he was worthy to sit in the king's room, while he was only a slave.

"No need to be so nervous, you are one of the people I entrusted to enter this room. So just relax. And I'll only be a moment."

The king then went to his desk and took something from there.

A necklace, made of Quantan Obsidian just like the luxurious palace. But why did he hang the necklace around Tendou's neck?

"Y-Your Highness?"

"Keep this well. This stone is a gift from me before you go to school next week. And no question allowed."

And once again, he had to accept the item without any question, he then nodded his head and thanked the king.

And was it some kind of talisman?

Although Tendou himself did not know why he was given the Quantan Obsidian Stone by the king he was still grateful that the king had not forgotten him.

However, the most important thing now for him was how he should mentally prepare to go to school because the new school year would start next week.

And so Tendou's story in school began.

Where his life really changed drastically.
