Gabriel
As we get to the front entrance of the community, I see Remus and Jebediah at the gates. They are gathered with the rest of the pack members.
There are ashes all around from the fire of last night.
Remus is the first to notice us, Lucas pulls away from me abruptly as if he is ashamed of our embrace.
I can see the guilt on his face, and I know he hadn't meant for it to happen. But in that moment of closeness, something between us had shifted - something that couldn't be undone.
Remus approaches us, his gaze flickering between the remnants of the fire and the two of us standing before him. His eyes hold a mixture of concern and curiosity, and I can't help but feel a pang of apprehension. Will he see through the facade we've built to protect ourselves?
"Gabriel! Thank the moon goddess you're okay," Remus exclaims as he takes me into his arms. I can feel the tears on his cheeks and the fear that had been present in his eyes only moments before.
