I get to my car and the drive to the outskirts of the woods is short. Gabriel hasn't replied to any of my messages and the worry that he will not show up fills me up to the brim.
I could go on this journey on my own but for the first time in my whole life, I don't want to do this alone.
I want to do this with him.
This has everything to do with the tether.
The tether is messing me up, making me softer, and weaker. I hate the feeling but at the same time, I am the one that caused this for myself.
I am the one that forced him to do this, so I have to bear the consequences.
The sound of gravel crunching beneath my tires echoes in the quietness of the woods as I navigate the narrow path leading to our meeting spot. My mind is filled with a mix of anticipation and apprehension. I can't help but wonder if Gabriel will actually show up.
