Ungaaahh ungaaaahhh ungaaaahhhh~
A man could be seen pacing and fidgeting around in front of the door where the baby cries were coming from.
He had dark bags under his golden eyes. While his golden hair reminiscent of a lion's mane was messy.
"Mr. Leo, don't worry, nothing will happen. After all, Aunt Ida is the best midwife in the Cabanary Fortress!" A young woman said in order to reassure the man called Leo in an attempt to calm him down.
Hearing her, the man sighed and sat down on the bench beside the young woman, "Sorry, it's just… I'm worried for my wife and baby…"
The young woman giggled and replied, "To see the brave Mr. Leo making such an expression is such a sight to see~"
Leo coughed twice in embarrassment before asking, "Ehem, is it really that obvious?"
The young woman nodded, "Yes, after all, who would have thought that such a valiant warrior like you, who wouldn't even flinch in the face of Second Class Demonic Beasts to fidget and have such helpless expression…"
"Okay stop, stop. I get it." Leo tried his best to calm himself down, but his worry for his wife and baby didn't decrease.
After a few minutes, the baby cries started to subside. However, before long, loud baby cries could be heard again from the room.
Leo shot up and nervously asked the young woman beside him, "C-Can I go inside?"
Just as the young woman was about to answer, the two of them heard an elderly female voice from the room.
"Ella! Come here and help me clean up! Oh, and let Leo come with you."
The young woman replied immediately, "Ok, Aunt Ida!"
The young woman called Ella obediently entered the room with a nervous looking Leo following behind her.
As soon as they entered the room, the two of them immediately saw an elderly woman with gray hair.
In the bed, they could see a very beautiful woman with a weak expression, still, it couldn't hide the beautiful smile on her face.
Her black hair, as dark as the night sky cascaded softly on the pillow while her pale blue eyes which twinkled like stars were filled with fatigue.
Seeing the woman lying in bed, Leo felt warmth in his heart as he fell in love with her all over again.
Hurrying towards her side, Leo held the beautiful woman's hand tightly and whispered tenderly, "How are you, Tiana? How are you feeling? Are you hurt anywhere? I'm really wor—"
The beautiful woman laying in bed called Tiana giggled as she quietly put her index finger at Leo's lips to stop him from talking any further.
"I'm fine, don't worry…" Tiana reassured her husband with a whisper as she caressed his face.
"I really wanted to be by your side… However, that old lady didn't let me…" Leo muttered in a dissatisfied voice.
"What old lady!?" The woman with gray hair called Aunt Ida glared at Leo, making him close his mouth.
On the other hand, a blush spread from Tiana's face as if remembering embarrassing memories, "Don't worry… it's good that you weren't here…"
Not understanding what she meant, Leo could only pout at his wife in frustration.
"Hey, you musclehead! Since when are you going to ignore your children!" Aunt Ida berated Leo as she and Ella came over to them while holding babies.
The baby held by Aunt Ida was sleeping peacefully while the baby held by Ella was energetic and was still crying.
Leo glanced at his wife, Tiana, then turned his attention to the babies held by Aunt Ida and Ella. He asked, "Why are there two?"
Tiana and Ella shared a giggle, while Aunt Ida shot him a glare and replied, "'Musclehead, they're twins."
As if the insulting nickname wasn't heard by Leo, when he heard the word "twins" he shed a tear while carefully taking the baby held by Aunt Ida.
"Well, at least you're a good father…" Aunt Ida had a smile on her face as she watched Leo looking tenderly at the baby.
Leo returned to Tiana's side, holding the baby with utmost care, as if afraid that the slightest disturbance would affect the sleeping infant.
"Oh what a calm little fella!" Leo said excitedly as he softly touched the baby with his finger.
"He has your eyes." Tiana smiled as she softly caressed the baby's head.
Looking at the golden eyes of the baby who seemed to have been woken up, his own eyes trembled with emotion.
"He's a boy, and since he was the first to be born, you could say he's your firstborn. However, he seemed to be a bit frailer than normal newborn babies." Aunt Ida said from the side.
Leo worriedly observed the baby, who had drifted back to sleep, and noticed the sparse strands of hair on his head.
"Tiana, his hair…"
Tiana mirrored his worried expression. They both noticed the baby's weak breath and the white color of his hair.
Aunt Ida had a worried expression as she said, "Also, I don't know why but I don't feel any energy from the child."
Tiana's hand, which had been softly caressing the baby's head, froze momentarily. She turned to look at her husband only to see his face full of love and tenderness for their child.
Leo noticed this and nodded with a smile, "I know. But so what? He's still our child. I don't care whether he was born with Energy Core and Circuits or not."
"I-It must have been because of me…" Tiana's trembling voice shook Leo's heart.
He held her hand tighter and said with a reassuring voice, "No, don't blame yourself. You have nothing to apologize for. I love you and our children unconditionally."
When Leo saw his wife's expression finally begin to soften, he smiled tenderly and handed her their baby.
"Hold him for a moment, okay? I'll go get our second child."
Tiana nodded her head as she smiled.
