The Introduction to the mystical world:
Almost 5000 years ago.....
The sky was darkened by the thick clouds that had gathered overhead, casting a foreboding shadow over the battlefield. Lightning crackled and thunder roared, the very elements themselves seemingly wrought with tension and anticipation for the coming conflict.
On one side of the field stood the gods, their armor gleaming in the flickering light. Zeus, the king of the gods, led the charge, his thunderbolts at the ready. Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war, stood by his side, her spear poised for battle. Apollo, the god of the sun and music, strung his bow, ready to rain down arrows upon the enemy.
On the other side of the field stood the monsters, their grotesque forms twisted and contorted with malice. The hydra, with its many heads snapping at the air, slithered forward. The chimera, a terrible creature with the body of a lion and the head of a goat, leapt into the fray. The gorgons, with their snakes for hair and eyes that could turn a man to stone, hissed and slithered towards the gods.
The two sides clashed with a deafening roar. The gods and monsters clashed in a fierce battle, with swords and claws clashing against each other. But despite the monsters' ferocity, the gods' combined strength and magical abilities proved too much for them to overcome. Slowly but surely, the tide of battle turned in favor of the gods, and the monsters were forced to retreat back into the dark corners of the world. There were heavy casualties on the both sides.
In the aftermath of the battle, the gods surveyed the destruction left in their wake, but they knew that the war was not over. Nonetheless, they left this mortal world.
After almost a hundred years, the gods blessed the earth with various qualities and superpower, so that the people who witnessed the battle or took part in it, would be able to deal with the casualties and also protect themselves from the demons, when they would strike again. Gradually, evolutionary changes occurred in them, and supernatural earthly creatures like witches, faes, werewolves and vampires; Jinns, Wendigoes, Kappas, Skinwalkars, Jiangshi, Basajaun, Baku, Púca, Tengu, Menehune; earthly deities like nine tailed foxes and phoenixes, emerged. Also, from the souls of dead warriors, emerged twelve warriors, who were superior in all aspects. They had heightened senses, were excellent weapon masters, had the power to control elements like water, fire, wind, thunder, etc. They could also transform to different creatures. These twelve warriors belonged to the twelve Zodiac signs. And, over the time they came to be known as the Scions of Gods.
[Jinn - Supernatural beings said to inhabit the earth and have magical powers.
Wendigo - A creature said to possess humans and crave human flesh.
Kappa - A water imp from Japanese folklore with a beak-like mouth and a dish-like indentation on the top of its head.
Skinwalkers - Supernatural beings from Navajo folklore said to have the power to transform into any animal.
Jiangshi - A Chinese undead creature resembling a hopping corpse with outstretched arms.
Basajaun - A forest giant said to protect the forests and wildlife.
Baku - A dream-eating monster said to help people rid themselves of nightmares.
Púca - A mischievous creature known for its shape-shifting abilities.
Tengu - A bird-like appearance and supernatural powers, often depicted as a protector of the mountains.
Menehune - A race of small, magical people said to be excellent craftsmen and builders.]
After a few hundred years, there was a battle between the good and the evil again. This time the Scions fought against the demons, alongside the supernatural creatures, and emerged victorious once again.
Over the time, these supernatural creatures, led by the Scions, settled among the humans, in the mortal world, and helped them in their daily lives. However, there were many who began using their superpowers who rule over humans and ultimately, they sided with the remaining demons, forming a cult The Dark Sect.
The Scions though mortal, had a relatively longer life than an ordinary human. One cannot eradicate evil completely, but only remove them from the equation of life, whenever they get out of control. Thus, whenever the evil got out of control, the Scions were reborn to eliminate them.
The Scions generally were born in a normal human family, and initially had no idea of their nature, nor of the supernatural world, which was well hidden among the human civilization.
Only few, like the high priest, the great saints and monks of various temples, a few old royal families, members of witch coven, werewolf pack and vampire clan, and other supernatural beings knew this tale, that was passed as a legacy from generation to generation.
The Scions and some of their powers:
1. Leo - Can manipulate electric and magnetic fields, thunder. And can transform into a 'Griffin' (Legendary creatures with body and head of a lion, and wings of an eagle.
2. Pisces- Has the power to control water, possess the strength of every aquatic creature. Can transform into a mermaid/man or a siren, and shapeshift to any aquatic creature.
3. Taurus - Usually a supernatural creature, like a nine-tailed fox, Basajaun or a Menehune, and an excellent weapon master
4. Scorpio - The lie detector and the vengeful one. The one who would go to extent to protect their people. The one who is the bridge between the good and the evil. The one who can control the dark element (the dark force can use the power of dark shadows and inflict strong curse) and also the one who controls the blue flame (blue flame is usually related to purification and alchemy. Only strong wizards and sorcerers can use them)
5. Virgo - Can control plants and flowers. Has the power of healing. They get a pair of wings when they transform
6. Aries - Can control fire
7. Gemini - Twins. And possess power to foresee the near future
8. Aquarius - The most intelligent one, invents new weapons and new gadgets. The one who helps in maintaining good diplomatic relations among the different supernatural groups.
9. Sagittarius - Control earth elements and can manipulate gravity.
10. Libra - Most beautiful of them all. Has the power to charm and manipulate people
11. Capricorn - Can shapeshift to any terrestrial animal, and has the power to communicate with animals
12. Cancer - Posses supersonic speed, and can travel back in time by utmost an hour
