Prayer is a devout petition to God or an object of worship. It is spiritual communion with God. It is a conversation with God and every conversation begins by addressing the person to whom you are speaking by name. Jesus begins with "Our Father in heaven." He focuses on a distinct person - the Heavenly Father with whom He has a personal relationship.
The question you need to ask yourself is this, "Do you have a personal relationship with the person you are praying to?" If your answer is yes, then the road to getting your prayers answered physically is just a thin line but if your answer is no, I'd advise that you build your relationship with Him that way it won't look like you are praying to a total stranger.
I will write a book on how to build a personal relationship with God but there are other interesting books you can turn to for more insights.
I want you to take a closer look at this quote and ask yourself the question.
Quote; "Of what infinite importance is the place of the intercessor? Is it not indeed a matter of wonder that God should give men such powers? Yet, they are so few who know what it is and how to take hold of it and pray down the blessings of God upon the world.
When I heard this I was stunned and I realized that I was being ungrateful and ignorant that is the reason why I decided to write this book because I believe a lot of people out there also take this power and grace for granted or they don't even know it's power and grace. Then I asked myself, why then did God create this portal that enables us to reach him? And I know you might be wondering what the reasons are, I will tell you.
God created us. He is spirit and we are beings. He needed to create a way to show us that He is real and that despite the fact we can't see Him, He is real. When we get answers to our prayers, it is evidence that He is real and He exists and that's just not all. God also wants us to have a fellowship with Him. He wants us to talk to Him like we talk to our friends and families. He delights to hear from us and the reason why He told us to pray without ceasing is that He constantly wants to hear from us and speak to us so that we won't fall into temptation or make the wrong choices.
Prayer is a beautiful thing.
Now that you know what prayer is, I will explain to you the A.C.T.S. of prayers. I know you might be wondering what I mean by that but don't worry, I got you covered. Turn to the next page to get an understanding of the ACTS of prayer.
