Chapter 28 - Chapter Twenty-Eight: Pedro’s Web of Deception.

The morning after Julio's call, Sanchez paced the length of his study, his mind racing with possibilities. Hedro sat nearby, poring over the latest security updates, his brow furrowed in concentration. The revelation of a shadowy figure manipulating Pedro had shifted the stakes entirely.

Sanchez slammed his hand on the desk. "We've been so focused on Pedro that we've overlooked the bigger picture. Whoever this puppet master is, they're using Pedro to distract us while they work in the shadows."

Hedro nodded grimly. "I've already started digging, but this person is careful. They've covered their tracks well. It might take time to uncover their identity."

"We don't have time," Sanchez snapped. "Pedro's attack on the estate was just the beginning. If we don't act fast, he'll strike again—and this time, he'll aim for Susan and the children."

Later that day, Sanchez gathered Susan, Hedro, and Maria in the living room. The atmosphere was tense, the gravity of the situation weighing on everyone.

"Pedro is just a pawn," Sanchez began, addressing the group. "There's someone else pulling the strings, someone more dangerous and unpredictable. Until we figure out who they are, we need to stay vigilant."

Susan's face was pale but determined. "What do we need to do?"

"First, we tighten security even further," Sanchez said. "Maria, I need you to keep a close eye on the children. They should never be out of sight, even for a moment."

Maria nodded firmly. "You can count on me, Mr. Twist."

"Susan," Sanchez continued, turning to her, "I need you to stay close to the estate. No unnecessary trips, no public appearances. We can't risk Pedro or his allies finding an opening."

Susan hesitated, her protective instincts warring with her pride. "I hate feeling like a prisoner, Sanchez. But for the children's sake, I'll do whatever it takes."

While the family fortified their defenses, Pedro was busy weaving his web of deception. In a lavish penthouse in the city, he sat across from Victor Delgado, the two men discussing their next move.

"Your nephew is resourceful," Delgado said, lighting a cigar. "But he's predictable. He'll spend all his energy protecting his family, leaving his business vulnerable."

Pedro smirked. "Exactly. Sanchez thinks he can outsmart me, but he doesn't realize he's playing into my hands. Once his defenses are down, we'll strike where it hurts the most—Cruz Oil."

Delgado raised an eyebrow. "And what about your mysterious partner?
