Well, it's been two days since I became a 'guardian' and met Merlin for the first time. When I woke up the next day Jingliu was surprised that a sphere was floating right next to me. I had introduced Merlin to her and all I have to say is that she absolutely marveled at the fact that there were living beings in between the stars.
Though we didn't specify the fact that the stars Merlin came from weren't ours but it's not like those little details were important.
On the second day, I went around the Luofu with Merlin to show him around and it was quite funny to see the flying orb running around in curiosity like a child. I also went around and visited Dan Feng and Wukong and introduced Merlin to them and they all had the same reaction to him that Jingliu had.
And now today
[Incredible! Such rich culture and information] said Merlin as he flew around scanning everything.
Yes, right now we are in the grand pavilion of the Luofu we're all things related to it were recorded into books, history, information, Adeptal Techniques all of it was here, and since I was Wukongs Deciple I had access to more information than other would.
The pavilion has a total of 6 levels each with you needing a certain level of clearance to access each floor, I myself have a level 4 clearance hence I am able to go up to the 4th floor.
When I got the clearance to go to the Pavilion library from Wukong I asked him what was on the fifth and sixth floor and he told me that the fifth had forbidden techniques that even he would never use.
And the sixth... well he just told me that the information in there is so frightening that even he gets chills when reading the information stored there. After that I didn't ask again about it, I know that when even the eccentric monkey gets scared, it's better to not know about it at all. After all, sometimes ignorance is bliss. Hmm, but I am kind of curious and I'm sure they have some information about Celestial somewhere in there.
Anyway, me and Merlin are currently on the third floor and he is scanning all the books so he will have them in his database. In other words, I'm going to have all of the floor up to the fourth flying next to me from now on.
And I have to say that he is doing it quicker than I thought. All he needs to do is to scan everything and he will have all the information in the books, he doesn't even need to open a single one so that's great.
[Meliodas I'm done scanning this floor's information let's hurry and go to the next one!] He said in an excited tone.
One of my favorite things about Merlin is his thirst for knowledge or more like the way he acts when he finds something new.
Just how you would impatiently wait to meet your favorite idol... well close to that since that's the best analogy I could make.
As we went to the next floor through some stairs we were met with a glowing blue door that had some sort of hole on the side for you to put something in it.
The whole pavilion is surrounded by a protective barrier and as the floors get higher the stronger they become. Taking out a talisman and putting it inside the hole on the side, the door opened for us to enter.
As we went inside Merlin had already rushed in front of me, scanning every book he could.
I on the other hand grabbed a random book from the shelves and started reading.
'hm? This!' As I kept reading through the book, my mind started to go overdrive as I started to understand what this thing was teaching.
And to my surprise, this was exactly a cultivation book. Well to be specific a cultivation book for humans. It teaches a person to naturally sense the Adeptal Energy within their souls and slowly start to control it.
The thing is that humans can't control it as naturally as an Adepti would so it tells you to create a sort of medium connected to your heart and soul so it pumps the Adpetal energy throughout your body calling it a dantai, after all the soul is what produces Adeptal energy so for a person you would need some sort of catalyst to flow the energy through the body more efficiently. After that, you create channels throughout your body so that the Adeptal energy flowing through your blood gets collected in there and flows all throughout your body more efficiently allowing you to control it better and they called it meridians.
... yup definitely a cultivation book
But I'm quite surprised nobody could have come up with this before and that it's locked up here on the fourth floor. But I understand why as humans with too much power can cause too much trouble.
Placing the book back from where I got it I started reading some random books until Merlin finished scanning the whole place.
[Meliodas, I finished scanning the library.]
"Finished already? Good if that is the case then what book did you find the most interesting." I asked with curiosity.
[Hm I would say that the book talking about the gods caught my interest]
'Oof out of all things he takes an interest in the gods. It's always troublesome when it comes to them' I grumbled internally.
Well, there are a few exceptions but most of them are. Ei/Raiden shogun literally took away the memories and ambitions because of the vision hunt decree she ordered. Literally just so that she could fulfill her own idea of eternity that her own people didn't even want.
Probably the only reason that her own people didn't revolt against her immediately is because of their respect for her or at least for her dead sister since they don't know about the electro-archon being twins.
"I don't mind you reading about them but... just don't get involved with them. they are all too troublesome" I told Merlin with a tired sigh.
"Oh, you make it sound like you've dealt with one before hahaha" he laughed at my obviously not-a-joke statement
"..."
"..."
[h-have you?]
"well once or twice"
it's not a lie since I still have to deal with the Barbatos and Davalin problem once I get back to my own timeline.
[Really!] he said in a curious tone.
"Yup but don't get too excited, like I told you they are all troublesome so I try to keep myself out of their business so I don't know much about them," I told the flying robot
hearing this Merlin became disappointed but he nodded in understanding.
"Anyway it is we are already finished here and it is time for my spar sessions with Wukong Let go"
------
"*Huf* *Huf* dam I still can't get a single hair on you," said Meliodas as he panted heavily with lots of bruises around his body on the floor.
"hahah! well of course kid I'm not the King for nothing" replied the monkey that was eating a fruit
"I know that but I thought that maybe I could get you with my new speed but you're still faster, Your body is absurd to be able to compact all that strength into that single body," said Meliodas in an exasperated tone.
"well of course what did you expect me to be, did you think I would be some sort of huge mass of muscle or something? Plus nobody gets strong instantly it's all about the process" Wuong said with a chuckle.
"But you have done great you've even created a new style in such a short time!"
It wasn't that Meliodas created a new sword style on the spot but he was trying out what he obtained from the system and Meliodas has to say that he was pretty happy with it.
the style focused on absolute speed and killing your opponent before they can even realize that their head is flying off their shoulders. the new style consisted of Barnabas' sword style and the breathing technique that Meliodas obtained from the sword style that he got from the system.
combining both the breathing technique and the he created consisting of a variety of forms though only a few since it's still on experimentation.
Dark Breathing 1st Form-Dark Repulsor: A sword technique in which you concentrate dark energy on your sword and release it on the opposite side of the blade mid-swing to make the sword slash pick up more speed. the increased speed will depend on the amount of dark energy concentrated and released in that single moment.
Dark Breathing 2nd form-Evils Judgement/Cut: quickly draw and slash in a single spot in view many times and once finished a second volley of slashes will appear again when you initially slash your sword through. this technique is a combination of Quickdraw attacks that are laced with Zantetsuken sword arts which is what the second volley of slashe comes from. the second attack is merely drawn with the sword's initial attack.
A/N: basically vergils Judgement cut though it cant travel through space...yet
Dark Breathing 3rd form-Evils Judgement/End: slash and move in a single are so fast that you cut through space itself... though the cutting space part is still a work in progress.
A/N: once again it's basically Vergils Judgment cut: End but it's performed with the power of darkness.
Meliodas has barely started creating the forms boosted with the breathing technique but he's no genius so this is pretty good progress for him for only a few days worth of training.
"Well, I haven't really made a style yet but I'm getting there," Meliodas said with a happy smile.
"..." (Wukong)
"You know, you remind me of someone"
"???, Really who?" asked Meliodas with curiosity
"...My first disciple, he was a young and talented boy just like you his name was Yanqing"
'Yanqing? Wasn't he Jing Yuan's disciple in Star Rail, I don't see him here so I guess that he did some dumb shit that got him banished or went outside on his own accord though Meliodas as Wukong kept speaking.
"though you seem more skilled with a spear, your raw talent with a sword is greater just as he was. he always sought to prove himself to me, he always trained hard to become stronger... but that was his own downfall"
'yup called it, I didn't see any senior disciple around here so that was probably the only option besides him being outside for experience
"one day he had asked me permission to enter the fifth floor of the library containing secret and forbidden Adeptal techniques, of course, I turned him down but he persisted in the name of gaining strength... one day he somehow managed to break the barrier to the fifth-floor which was a huge violation of Luofu laws, and Execution as the punishment. the library contains too much information for one person to see especially if they are not allowed to do so from the beginning"
I had him taken to me in shackles in front of me and asked him why he chose to do that even though he knew what the consequences were
"... he told me that the only way to prove himself to me was to gain strength no matter the cost. I don't know what he was thinking that day but I couldn't kill him so I banished him from the Luofu."
"Perhaps he thought that I would save him or forgive him for doing it because he was my disciple, but no. When he left the last thing on his face was nothing but hatred and betrayal even though he was the one at fault."
"Perhaps he was so blinded on gaining my approval that he didn't even realize hs mistakes or even acknowledge that it was his fault"
finishing his words Wukong had a sad look on his face. he knew that it wasn't his fault for his disciple's actions but as his master, he was responsible for redirecting him on the right path but he failed.
"*Sigh* come on Wukong that frown on your face doesn't look good. I can't say that I relate to you on this matter but I know that you can't keep beating yourself up over the fact that Yanqing did something so stupid even though he knew the consequences of his actions. the only thing you can do now is to learn from those mistakes and do better after all nobody is perfect and we all make those mistakes. it's just another part of life" Meliodas said as he tried to comfort him
"Plus I'm just fine right, you told me of the library, and of course I was curious but after your explanation, I never brought up the matter again so there! One mistake that you made has been resolved with me before it could even happen"
hearing Melody's words the Monkey King smiled warmly at him Appreciating his words. he had gotten words of comfort from his own friend but hearing this from his own current disciple calmed a deep discomfort deep within his heart.
Although the failure of his first disciple deeply scarred him, perhaps he could do right with Meliodas and heal those scars from the past.
"fufu I guess you're right. Alrighty then get up we're gonna spar again but I'm going to go a lot harder on you this time" said Wukong as he regained his smile and grinned evilly at Meliodas
*Shiver*
seeing the evil smile on his master Meliodas gulped nervously
----------
A/N: I know it might be kinda of sudden with the mentioning of Wukong's old disciple but that guy was one of the deciding factors that made Wukong like Meliodas in the first place. Meliodases care carefree attitude, and talent were noticed by Wukong when they first met and it kind of triggered his PTSD making him what to make Meliodas take the right path so that he couldn't make his old disciple go through. although meliodas would never do something stupid like that, wukong doesn't know that and his regret made him want to nurture him into a talent that wouldn't start on the wrong path, despite Wukong's carefree attitude when he first accepted Meliodas as his disciple, all of this was his main factor. I just wanted to put that out there in case anybody found it kind of random about Yanqing's mention in the chapter and show my thought process on this.
