Yetsune glances around at everyone, at the family dinner table, growing uneasy. Something feels very off, not just at this table but within the entire palace.
When she visited the Moon Palace earlier, she noticed the servants staring at her longer than usual. Even the Noble Consort seemed distracted, troubled, though she wouldn't say why.
Under the table, Yettiri gives the Queen a discreet nudge with her foot, arching a brow and subtly nodding toward Yetsune. The Queen hesitates, then she picks up the serving spoon and adds a portion of meat and vegetables to Yetsune's plate.
The clink of the spoon halts the table. Even the King pauses with his spoon halfway to his mouth.
Yetsune stares down at the additions on her plate, then looks up at the Queen in disbelief. Meat? She's never eaten meat in front of her mother before.
The Queen musters a stiff smile, her voice strained. "You should eat some meat as well."
