Chapter 11 - Wedding Preparation

"The perfect reward? I look like the perfect reward. Hah!" Silver angrily mixed the batter.

She was currently in a baking class. After she finished having that conversation with Luca, she angrily drove to college.

She had thought the reason for him wanting to marry her would be reasonable enough and that they would try and tolerate each other but it seemed like that was out of the box.

"That will be all for today" The chef in charge of the class concluded.

Silver was clearing her workspace when the phone beeped, she opened it and saw that it was a text from her mother reminding her about the wedding dress shopping.

She had forgotten that they were supposed to check out the wedding dress. She brought out her phone and dialed Carlotta's number.

"Are you through with your class? Meet me at the parking lot, we're going to shop for my wedding dress."

Silver's car pulled up at THE LUXURY WEDDING DRESSES. She and Carlotta alighted from the car and made their way inside.

Two ladies dressed in black and white corporate stood behind the receptionist's desk.

"Good day ma'am, how may we help you?" One of them asked.

"I have a reservation by 1 pm."

The lady checked the computer and smiled at her "You must be Miss Grayson. Please, come this way." She said and led them to the second floor.

When they got there Silver met her mother sitting on a couch going through a magazine. A light-skinned lady sat close to her explaining something to her.

"Mother!" Her mother looked up and smiled when she saw her.

"Here comes the bride. What took you so long?" She stood up from the couch and went to hug her.

"Hello, Mrs Grayson" Carlotta greeted smiling warmly at her.

"Carlotta! Oh my goodness, how long has it been since I last saw you? You don't come over anymore." She also engulfed Carlotta in a hug.

"I do stop by the house sometimes but you're not mostly home when I do."

"That's alright. I'm happy you're here to help Silver out." She turned to the lady seated on the couch "Can we get started now?"

Silver was already tired from the constant changing of dresses. She had already tried on three dresses but her mother and Carlotta kept on rejecting them, saying that it wasn't the right one for her.

She was currently trying out the fourth dress and hoped that they will like it because she was tired.

She came out from the changing room and stood in front of them. They stared at her and sighed.

"This isn't it either," Carlotta said.

Silver left crying when she heard that. It simply meant she was going to change again.

She was undressing when they brought another dress into the room. Silver immediately gasped at the sight of the dress. The dress was a simple sleeveless style but was covered with tiny diamond stones and flowers.

The sight of the dress brought water to Silver's eyes and she wished that such a beautiful dress was worn at a real wedding and not a fake.

When Silver came out in the fifth dress, Carlotta and Loretta, Silver's mother were speechless.

"Is it that bad? Do I seriously need to change again?" Silver asked after she didn't get a response from them.

Loretta stood up from the chair and dabbed the tears that were escaping her eyes "No dear, you look so beautiful. The dress is perfect and so are you."

"Aw, my friend looks like an angel. I have never seen a bride this beautiful." Carlotta smiled at her. Her friend was getting married and she still couldn't believe it.

"Thanks, since we've found the dress can we go now? I need to rest."

"Rest? We're just getting started. We haven't picked out the shoes, jewelry, and so on, besides the wedding planner is supposed to drop by the house later this evening, so get changed quickly."

Silver groaned when she heard her mother's reply. She couldn't wait to get home and soak herself in a hot bath. Why is she the only one preparing and planning for the wedding when Luca is buried in his work?

The rest of the afternoon went by in a blur. After they had picked out the dress, they shopped for shoes, jewelry, and lingeries, and visited the spa and the nail salon.

She was embarrassed when her mother and Carlotta insisted on picking out sexy lingerie for her. They claimed that her wedding night was meant to be steamy.

She could understand Carlotta wanting to give her tips on how her wedding night should be steamy, but her mother dishing her ways to tame a man for the night was what baffled her.

Nevertheless, she knew that their advice and tactics on how to make her wedding night steamy and sexy, was a waste because Luca and her weren't going to sleep together. She doubts if they'll even share a room.

It was late in the evening when Silver and her mother got home. When they were through with the shopping and the rest, Carlotta bid them goodbye.

"Welcome back Madam, and young Miss" the maid greeted them when they got inside.

"Thanks, Stacey. How are you?" The young girl smiled at Silver and collected some shopping bags from Loretta.

"I'm fine young Miss. That reminds me, the wedding planner is on the patio. She has been waiting for quite a while now."

Silver almost fainted when she heard about the wedding planner. She thought since they came back a bit late, she would move the appointment to tomorrow.

"Okay, let me go and join her. Here," Loretta handed the rest of the shopping bags to Silver "Drop these things and meet us on the patio. Don't waste time."

Silver sighed and went towards her room with Stacey following behind. They both kept the bags and Silver went to join her mother and their guest.

"...yes, this was an indoor wedding. It was held in the church while a small reception was held in a hall." She heard the woman explain to her mother from a tablet that she held in her hands.

"Hello," Silver greeted and they both looked up from the tablet.

"Ah, there you are, come sit" her mother invited her to seat on a chair opposite them.

"Now, this is my daughter, Silver, she's the lucky bride." Silver sat down and almost rolled her eyes at the mention of the word lucky bride.

"It's nice to meet you, Silver. I'm Jane, your wedding planner. I hope that by the time we're done, you'll be satisfied with our services." She smiled and adjusted the glasses on her face.

"It's nice to meet you too Jane. I can't wait to see what you have in stock for me." She smiled a fake smile and hope the lady doesn't see through it.

"Of course. If I may ask where's the groom? He needs to be here also so that we can know his preferences" Silver and her mother exchanged eye contact and kept quiet, Jane noticed this and continued "Well, he doesn't necessarily need to be here, you can just decide for him."

Silver smiled sadly"I'm sorry but my husband won't be able to join us since he has work piled up. I'll decide what's best for the both of us."

"Now, who said I had work piled up?" A deep masculine voice interrupted shocking them.
