After Maya's time off from work, she went directly to her father's small-room apartment. He let her in and served her drinks. She sat down on the single chair and looked around. His father was tidy and everything was organized. Also, he's very frugal. His shoes looked almost wrecked but he fixed them with super glue. She pressed her lips thinking that he was not eating well or even buying something from himself.
"Someone's searching for Charlotte… I mean the child that Aunt Maria brought." She bit her lips. "Dad, I got a letter from her father."
Mario froze as he turned around.
"What? Her father?"
"Yes, I didn't tell Mom about it. I heard that they are planning to make Ivy act as Charlotte. You know, Charlotte has to dye her hair black and change her name… her age… for her safety. But I am afraid that once Ivy acts like Charlotte, she might get in danger. I don't know yet where they are meeting. They are hiding it from me.
