Chapter 28 - (27)

"No." I uttered, almost whispering the word.

Who wouldn't be shocked?

When the paper I was holding was none other than one of the many letters of my first love, who died four years ago,

I panicked.

I stepped back, especially when my knees started shaking again.

I calmed my trembling knees for a few seconds before being able to step away from that shelf.

When I gained strength, I ran to the door and quickly went to the nearby kitchen. I opened the fridge to get some water. I don't know how many glasses I've drunk.

I lost count.

All I know is that my heart is beating so fast right now.

I searched my vision for a maid.

I came out of the kitchen with a glass of cold water. I went to the living room and found the TV turned on.

But no one was there.

I frowned as I walked closer to it.

When I was about to turn the TV off, the glass I was holding fell on the floor when Lily and Camilla both appeared from behind me.

"Gosh! You startled me! "

Lily and Camilla appeared from behind me, startling me. I heard them laugh at my reaction.

"What are you guys doing here?" You surprised me, "I frownly asked

I thought these two were at work.

Camilla answered.

"Ma'am Betina ordered us to go here. She said we'd join you here first because they might come home tomorrow."

"Ah, Mom," I uttered, realizing that Mom really had summoned these two to look after me.

What am I?

A child?

I was too shaken to sit on the couch.

Maybe I have some fun if I just put the glass of water on the table before looking for a good channel.

Maybe it's good to have someone with me, especially since I'm the only one and the housemates are here at home.

Some haven't talked to me yet because they are professionals.

If I don't speak first, I won't be fooled either.

Two of them pushed me on either side.

Good thing the couch can accommodate four people at once.

"What about your work? Who will do the jobs you left behind?" I asked.

"The gallery's being taken care of by your Dad's secretary, Miss Aya." The construction is also over, so you don't have to worry." Lily answered.

"Same goes with the workloads in the company, Miss Aya. As of now, there isn't much work to be done in the company, so Madam CEO sent me here first. That's why your team said so." Camilla said.

I nodded. "That explains I thought you left your jobs just to join me."

"You know me, Miss Aya." I need money, so I'll work hard and will never neglect my work. Unless, of course, if you need me by your side." Lily said.

"She even teased me."

The three of us laughed.

In the end, we decided to watch movies to pass our time.

I ordered snacks and also asked our cook to prepare a dinner for the three of us and my brother. I'm sure he'll spend the night walking outside with his dog again.

So he doesn't get a girlfriend.

He only prioritizes his dogs.

I wonder what would happen if he found a girlfriend. What if he barks instead of saying "I love you?"
