Two days had passed since then.
There was no sign of Ami recovering yet, and Rai's daily life had undergone some changes from when he was on Earth.
In the early morning, he had training with Ossa to increase his physical fitness and Magicule control. Then he would be given free time to read about this world and the Guardian Shield in the library. Knowledge was important, and being smart was better than being stupid.
Though it was said to be a library, he read the news and books in the form of a hologram screen. Those books and news were exclusive and could only be accessed when they were in this room, designed similarly to a café, and had robots serving each person in their small room.
From this chance, he got to know many criminals' names and what they did that made them infamous by themselves or a group.
Their criminal records varied.
A person with the appearance of a half-giant robot that stood 4 meters tall destroyed some buildings using pile bunkers. When Guardians surrounded him, he revealed that he wanted to become a construction worker and prove that humans were better than robots at destroying buildings.
A half-crazy woman with unkempt dark hair killed ten pregnant women using knives, digging their intestines out and surrounding herself with the fetus she dug out from their stomachs.
That woman somehow awakened her Magicule at that moment and transformed into a Magical Girl, destroying Lumi Square and killing all Guardians there. Presumably, she was still out there but didn't rampage like before. Wanted.
Last but not least, Charlie the Clown. This was the only criminal with a clear appearance and name. His appearance was frequent and would always be known by Guardian Shield and regular civilians, even if he suddenly showed up without warning.
This crazy clown always did unexpected stunts and would make his appearance flashy.
"I can copy this man to some extent," Rai muttered as he read the following appearance of Charlie the Clown written beneath his bio.
"Disturbing large events. Lighting fireworks in the middle of Delta City, burning many buildings. Hacking into Guardian Shield's HQ. Killing a large number of people and turning them to marionette under his control, letting them rampage. T-This is…"
As Rai read the crazy clown's bio gathered by Extity's intelligence, he became shocked at how Charlie could do all that without getting caught. Either he was strong, had someone backing him, or possibly both.
According to his file, his power was hypnosis and illusion. The latter could come from the former, which was still scary.
Charlie's appearance was also clearly depicted in a picture. Wearing a colorful suit with the red and blue main theme, he wore exaggerated clown makeup. He had unkempt red hair, bordering pink in color, and a top hat with pink, orange, and dark blue color with red as a base.
Gold-rimmed glasses adorned his blue eyes, resting on a round red nose. He also had a crazy grin in the picture, irritating and opposing those justice keepers simultaneously.
"This guy is really a criminal."
Closing the hologram screen in front of him, Rai rose from the blue bean bag chair he used to rest. When he got up abruptly, his body was attacked by pain. Ossa really didn't hold back in his training and pushed him to the limit. Thanks to that, his statistics increased by 2 in the last two days, strengthening him.
If only the spirit didn't force him to do that…
"Tsk." He clicked his tongue and left the library. His right hand was inside his jacket's pocket, and he made his way to the dining hall.
From the books he read, he managed to know the common sense in this world as well as a rough understanding of the law and geography of this Earth.
Surprise or not, there were only a few cities left in this world, but each city's size was almost half as big as a middle-sized nation and had more than 50 million souls living in it. The technology was also far advanced, and surgery to increase one strength with metal body modification was common.
When Rai found out about that, he didn't know how to feel. In some part, he would love to keep his full humanity because he was raised on a normal Earth and placed great value on it. In the other part, that was how he could increase his strength faster without any training.
Though Guardians and Extity often didn't recommend it as it would just hinder one's growth and make a ceiling cap. With Magicule Core inside their body awakened, getting superhuman strength wasn't a dream as long as one kept training.
Talking about Magicule, Rai's reserve increased by 15 again after drinking Ahri and Ami's Magicule. He still couldn't understand the principle behind its increment. The amount of Magicule he recovered from drinking was equivalent to their remaining Magicule minus 500. He couldn't truly suck them dry.
Arriving in the dining hall, Rai looked around for a bit before he noticed someone familiar. It was Miss Clown. Two 2 days had passed without any news of her, and Rai didn't even see a glance at her hair. He did not want to have the same room as her, but that didn't mean he hated her.
And now, for some reason, while she had a smile on her face, there was a sad aura around her. She was eating alone slowly with a vacant look.
Everyone seemed to avoid her.
'She looks pitiful.' He thought as he walked toward her. When passing by a robot, he bought a good meal for himself and two puddings.
Then he approached Miss Clown from behind. She didn't notice him closing in before he patted her shoulder.
"What are you doing alone?"
"Huh?" Rena sounded surprised when she turned around and saw his figure. "Rai? What are you… No, why are you here?"
"To eat, of course," Rai replied as he sat beside Rena, gesturing for her to move over.
She did without asking and moved her meal aside. Her gaze was still on him.
"I mean, didn't you hate me? Leader said you don't want to stay with me to the point you left without listening to his words." She said with a bit of sadness in her tone.
'So it's indeed Ossa's fault that Miss Clown didn't show up in front of me in the last 2 days.'
"I was tired at that time, and Ossa spouted nonsense." He said, letting out a tired sigh. "Anyway, I didn't hate you. In fact, I quite like you compared to the others."
"Is that a proposal?" Rena's mood lifted, and her playful behavior returned. Her face lit up in a big smile as she looked at Rai, "That's too fast! And I can't marry or date someone yet for a reason, so I am sorry!"
"That's not what I mean!" Rai retorted.
Rena giggled happily, ignoring him. She was quite happy with what Rai had said. It seemed like her worry was unfounded and Ossa did tell her a lie.
"No, I understand what you mean," Rena interjected as she shook her head. Her smile widened when she stopped and looked at Rai with sparkling eyes.
"It's decided. Tomorrow is Sunday, and I have permission to teleport out of the base. Let's have a date! Nyahahaha." She exclaimed and laughed with her unique laugh, leaving no room for Rai to refuse.
'Don't I have a say in this?' He thought. 'Well, having a date with her might not be so bad. I have no reason to refuse such an invitation as long as she didn't try to dress me like a girl.'
