The Fun Building.
Just as its name said, various kinds of fun things were waiting for people in this building.
This building was formed into three different sections to accommodate different people's hobbies, creating a U-shape with a big, complete stage between buildings often used for concerts every weekend or festivals.
The left-wing was filled with games, mainly online ones using hologram screens or even Virtual Reality full dive technology.
The right-wing was for a physical game, such as a simulation room and Augmented Reality without serious danger or difficulty, unlike the simulation room in Extity's base. The building also had a basketball court, swimming pool, airsoft arena, and even a soccer field.
As for the main building, it was mainly for a family to enjoy their holiday and for lovers to enjoy their date. There were movie cinemas, cafés to rest, book sections, some small festivals, and even opera with special effects. It was also the biggest building of the three.
Then the stage between the building that stood grandly. The area around the stage could easily hold more than 100 thousand people. Many benches were scattered in the area with shade from big trees resembling an umbrella.
It wouldn't be called Fun Building with just that. But not even the local resident of District 8 knew everything about this place except for what they were interested in. However, no one had ever said they couldn't find their hobby section in this building yet. It was complete!
Today was Sunday.
Many people visit the Fun Building with their families, friends, or loved ones. Some also visited alone, hoping to meet new friends with the same hobby.
Some people were running around the stage, preparing it for the weekly concert.
Rai arrived in front of the building entrance with Rena. When he stepped inside the Fun Building's area, he felt like he passed through a thin layer of invisible hologram, just like what happened when he visited Alpha Mall a few days ago.
Until now, he was still curious as to what that thin layer was. Fortunately, this time, his companion seemed knowledgeable about District 8 and often visited this place judging from how she acted indifferent and was not surprised by the Fun Building.
He looked at Miss Clown and asked, "What was that?"
"Hmm?" Rena looked to her right, facing Rai with a confused look. "What was what?" She asked while tilting her head slightly.
"That thin layer that I felt when I stepped in."
"Ah!" She clasped her hands in realization.
"That was a sensor to detect Glitches inside this area. Umm, it's a security measure that can also detect Dark Magicule. But rest assured! Our Dark Magicule won't be detected unless you transform. The sensor isn't that sensitive because many people also have unawakened Dark Magicule." She explained and nudged her sunglasses slightly to appear smarter.
Indeed.
Some people must've had unawakened Dark Magicule inside them. Mainly those people who were depressed fell to their lowest point and had a deep hatred for someone else.
Of course, it didn't mean they were evil and were criminals. Some good people who often donate to charity could also have thick Dark Magicule hiding in their bodies due to negative emotions they experienced in the past.
If the sensor detected those Magicule, it would ring every time people like those entered. Rai thought it was reasonable not to do that.
And maybe that was the reason why Guardians always arrived late. Because they needed to patrol everywhere and not necessarily at that place at the point Evil Organization's members or criminals attacked.
"I see." He muttered in a low voice as he walked to the clearing between three buildings with Rena skipping beside him.
"Yup. That's how it is. Nyahahaha, it makes people like us easier to blend in and be active in society. They really are soft and kind, just like their motto. 'Be kind and maintain justice!'"
Rena raised her right hand and put her left on her chest, shouting the motto with a lower pitch, imitating an old man's voice.
Looking at the pink-haired girl's antics, Rai couldn't help but chuckle. A part of it was due to him hearing the Guardian Shield's motto.
It also dawned on him that being together with this girl was somehow fun, and he didn't really find her bothersome. So his voice and attitude softened a little bit.
"That's ridiculous. They didn't live up to their motto of maintaining justice."
"Right?" Miss Clown raised her voice happily. "They should do their work better! Even I complained about it!"
"That's right." Rai nodded in agreement. The Guardian system in this world was strange. Even he thought so himself after learning a little bit from the record in the library. "But let's forget about that. Which building should we enter?"
"Left one!" Rena immediately replied without missing a beat. "Let's play some games. Nyahaha, it's to kill time before the concert starts. That's my main goal coming to this place."
Rai nodded without answering.
The concert was also his main goal. He looked at the stage, which was now being prepared for the concert, and noticed they began setting some holographic screens. They were the performers of today's concert.
And looking at the number of the holographic screen hung above the stage, it seemed like there were at least 3 different groups performing.
However, before he could see the name of the groups that would perform in today's concert, Rena pulled his hand energetically.
"Let's go! We don't want to spend the whole morning here. Also, let's stop at the counter near the entrance to deposit your newly bought clothes. We can't bring that anywhere."
Unlike the gloomy expression she wore yesterday, Rena looked bright and happy. This happiness was a bit excessive for the silent Rai, but he didn't really mind. It was better than seeing her feeling down.
'Does I already think of her as my friend?' He asked himself, 'That must be the case. If not, I wouldn't care if she was sad or something. My desire influences me a little without me noticing, but it's not a bad change.'
And so, they went to the left-wing building. After putting the bag Rai held on the depositing counter, they went to the second floor. Their destination was the Virtual Reality game section.
Rai was a bit excited to play it because he saw something interesting in the banner near the depositing counter.
There was an adult Virtual Reality Game! And it was about Magical Girls!
This place really lived its name as Fun Building. Nothing was restricted! Only imagination and age would restrict you from doing something you wanted to do in this place!
He silently thanked Rena for bringing him here in his mind.
