Dusk approaching many settling into their homes for the evening the slight breeze and leaves rolling across the ground created a relaxing atmosphere for the to bird men.
The first of the two Sam had a hawk like body that blended in the forest making him hard to see despite his rather large size. Wearing black slacks and vest most may believe he's a carpenter due to his daily work, it was just a coverup.
The smaller one Dave had a owl like appearance wearing brown slacks and a white tunic. Due to his species he is mostly active at night, his specialty is being completely silent and at night makes him nigh impossible to detect.
The sun was lowering with every passing minute. "Wonder what will happen after this is over?"Sam having sat back on thick tree branch.
"I don't know just focusing on the here and now" Dave replied shedding a few feathers blown away by the wind.
"The scariest thing about this is that my son finds himself aspiring to be like those no good lizards who would backstab their own for profit" His eyes hardened thinking of his son who he loved more than anything.
'I won't let that happen I promised your mother to protect you' getting slightly drowsy.
"As a father I understand your dilemma my greatest joy comes from my little girls I want nothing more than to shield them from the cruel world until the time is right" Dave sitting down a little ways away from his companion.
"You and me both" Sam replied feeling the effects of his wary body "Wake me if anything happens" closing his eyes to get some rest. "You didn't have ask" Dave turning his attention back the path.

Making his way down empty street to a large house on a hill being guarded by moose like beings armed with spears the two lowered the head out of respect and some fear opened the gate to the property.
"Welcome home master Reaver" A fox man in full dress clothes and white gloves bowed his right hand on his heart greeting the now named gecko men.
Scoffing he walked past the butler who simply followed until told otherwise. Making his to the uppermost point a door with a gold trim came into view with another butler standing by this one had more alien like features with yellow skin that seemed to be translucent and constantly fluctuating from solid to liquid.
"I must speak with father it's an urgent matter" impatiently tapping his foot. "A moment if you please" he opened the door going inside, Reaver looked the window at the town below deep in thought.
The creaking sound of the door drew his attention and the yellow man stepped out "The lord will see you now young master" standing to the side. Walking past him Reaver glared at the jelly like man as he believed he could not be trusted despite being with the family for 3 generations.
Approaching a desk with a older looking gecko having a full goatee and scar over his left eye. "You wished to speak with me say what you need to boy" his voice laced with coldness.
Reaver couldn't help but shiver his father was quite the ruthless man even worse to those opposing him. "An unknown stranger introduced some new products" trying his best to maintain eye contact.
"If your here to tell me useless information, then leave I have much to do" his stare sending waves through Reaver. "That's not all father the fruit can apparently be grown locally, which would decrease our profit and influence" breathing heavily due to his fathers intimidating stare.
The man rose out of his chair, looking out his window at the town below. "This could be problematic have this nuisance dealt with I don't want anyone getting in the way this city shall be mine" closing his fist.
Reaver promptly left his office gathering his breath talking his father was like being prey to a predator on slip up and it's over.
"Have the mercenary's gather tomorrow there's someone that needs to be taken care of" making his toward his personal chamber to rest.
(Forest outside the the town)
A few hours have passed Dave diligently keeping watch spotted a convoy, making their way to town "Sam the load has arrived" shaking the hawk man awake who stretched out before getting up.
The convoy was 20 carts loaded with various goods each car had 4 guards rather ill equipped 'Mercenaries are not well equipped amateurs. This won't be too hard' cracking his neck.
"They seem to be settling for night let's drive off those horses that will slow them down significantly" Sam ready get to it only to be held back by Dave.
"Look again they have ban-gers can't get to close unless we want them to pick up on our scent and give our position away" pointing the dog like creatures out.
"I have a few tricks up my sleeve continue with the plan leave the dogs to me" pulling some balls out of his pocket with a grin on his face.
