Chapter 127 - Everything starts 2

"What the hell is this?" Asked the captain of the Peacekeepers, his gaze turned back without paying attention to the repeated message.

"Don't make a sound."

All the Peacekeepers lined up in front of the screen that illuminated the square, as if expecting something.

"Get out!"

But silence continued to invade the surroundings until suddenly a series of loud explosions illuminated the dark night in the distance.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The large curtains of flames and dark smoke could be seen within seconds. All of this was witnessed by the Peacekeepers, and when the captain felt the blast, he looked back only to see that masked man removing his mask to reveal his face.

"It can't be... He should be in the arena, how is this possible? No... District Twelve is rebelling!"

However, his words were drowned out by the sound of gunfire coming from all directions.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The air was filled with tension as everyone moved forward. The rebels were more than determined to confront the Peacekeepers in a direct attack. The hearts of every person pounded with strength, and they felt adrenaline rushing through their veins.

"Don't let them stop us! Move forward and fight for our freedom!" Shouted Bellamy, trying to instill courage in the brave warriors who were fighting today.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets whistled around them as they advanced through the streets of the district. The Peacekeepers all over District Twelve, confused by the surprise attack, responded with indiscriminate fire. Some took cover behind overturned crates as bullets collided with the metal.

"Hold the line! Don't retreat!" exclaimed a confident voice, trying to keep morale high among the rebels.

Boom!

Gunshots echoed in the air, and the sound of explosions filled the ears of those in the closest areas. The street turned into a battlefield, with rebels and Peacekeepers fiercely fighting for every inch of ground.

"Aim and fire!" shouted one of the rebels, and the firearms began to roar in response. The rebels' shots found their targets, eliminating numerous enemies. However, enemy bullets also reached them, and some of their brave comrades fell to the ground wounded or dead.

"Take cover! Don't let them get to you!" Bellamy, his hand covered in blood, warned the rebels as they sought refuge in abandoned buildings and rubble.

In the distance, a group of rebels could be seen attacking the rear area of the Justice Building. Some fought with bows and arrows, while others wielded firearms. But the most fearsome were those who used their Kusarigamas, swinging them skillfully and eliminating any Peacekeepers who dared to approach.

"Don't let them escape! Move forward and secure the victory!" ordered one of the nearby rebel men.

The sound of combat was deafening, but there was no time for fear. Everything was at stake in this attack: our lives and the future of our district.

"Advance together, comrades! We cannot allow the Capitol to subdue us!" someone exclaimed, leading the charge against the Peacekeepers.

Smoke and chaos enveloped us as we fought with all our might. Each bullet and each blow were reminders of the cruel reality in which we lived. But we were determined to resist, to fight to the end for our freedom.

"We will not surrender! We are District Twelve, and we won't allow ourselves to be trampled on!" a shout was heard, lifting the spirits of the rebels.

As they advanced, leaving a trail of chaos and destruction in their wake, they could feel the determination in each other's eyes. They were willing to give everything for our cause, for a future where the Capitol couldn't control us.

The battle raged on for hours, but finally, the situation favored the rebels as they managed to eliminate all the Peacekeepers. Silence filled the air as everyone took a moment to recover and assess our achievements.

"Reinforcements must be on their way. We need to take the Peacekeepers' weapons and establish strategic zones to defend ourselves."

The rebels nodded, sharing their understanding. They knew this attack was only the first step on their path to freedom. There was still a long way to go, but they were ready to face any challenge that came their way.

The Capitol.

President Snow was in his office, surrounded by monitors displaying different surveillance cameras throughout Panem. He carefully observed every movement, searching for any signs of defiance to his authority. His cold and calculating gaze reflected the power he held over the districts.

Suddenly, one of the monitors displayed a message sent by Jacob Barber, the leader of the uprising. The message reported the rebellion and the escape of the participants in the Hunger Games. A mix of anger and concern seized Snow's face as he listened to the news.

"This can't be!" He exclaimed in a low voice, clenching his fists in fury. The idea of losing control over the districts was unacceptable to him.

At that moment, the door to his office swung open, and a man rushed in, agitated and pale-faced. He was one of the high-ranking members of Capitol security.

"Mr. President, District Twelve has risen in arms!" The man reported, barely catching his breath.

President Snow looked at the man with a mix of disbelief and anger. His voice sounded cold and sharp as he gave his orders.

"Send five squads of Peacekeepers to District Twelve immediately. I want them to control the situation and eliminate anyone who resists. I won't tolerate any challenge to our authority," he ordered authoritatively.

The man nodded fearfully and hurriedly left to carry out the president's orders. Snow was left alone in his office, contemplating the possible consequences of this rebellion.

"Reinforce security in all the districts," he murmured to himself, his expression filled with determination. "I won't allow this spark to become a fire. Panem must remain under my absolute control."

With his decisions already made, President Snow walked toward the window, observing the imposing city of the Capitol. He knew he was facing a challenging situation, but he was willing to use whatever means necessary to quell the rebellion and maintain his power intact. The game of power and control was underway, and Snow wouldn't allow anyone to threaten his dominion over Panem.
