District 12 was plunged into chaos and destruction. The night had become a witness to a violent uprising against the Capitol, and the streets were engulfed in fire and smoke. The smell of gunpowder and blood permeated the air, leaving an oppressive feeling in the atmosphere.
The brave and determined rebels had managed to set ablaze the imposing justice building. The flames raged uncontrollably, devouring everything in their path and turning the place into an infernal scene. The cries and sounds of explosions resonated in the darkness, mingling with the crumbling of the debris.
In the streets, the bodies of the fallen lay scattered, forming a sad and macabre sight. The rebels, although victorious in this battle, had also suffered casualties. The price of freedom was high and reflected in the loss of innocent lives.
In the shadows, other rebels remained hidden, observing cautiously, awaiting the response from the Capitol. They knew that their fight was far from over. The counteroffensive against them would be imminent, and they had to be prepared to face it.
As the night advanced, darkness became an accomplice to those rising against the oppressive regime. Every shadow, every corner, harbored the hope of a better future, while the determination of the rebels grew stronger.
Amidst the devastation, District 12 became a symbol of resistance. The flames devouring the justice building not only represented physical destruction but also the rejection of an unjust and cruel system.
While chaos and uncertainty reigned in the streets, the rebels prepared to face what lay ahead. They knew that the battle had only just begun and that the fight for freedom would be arduous and bloody. But they were willing to give everything for a world where oppression and suffering belonged to the past.
Amidst darkness and desolation, hope remained alive. District 12 stood as a torch in the night, reminding everyone that resistance was possible and that the power of the people could defy the Capitol.
...
"Quick, take those suits to the Hovercrafts in the forest immediately!"
Some of the suits were stained with blood, but they could be inspected and used for future plans.
"Be careful with the wounded, get them out of here right away!"
"Did you hear that?"
Just as everyone was moving swiftly, shifting resources and weapons, the sound of the wind breaking in the distance indicated a pair of Hovercrafts .
"Run!"
Unexpectedly, one Hovercraftlanded in District 12, while the other continued flying without showing hostility towards the rebels occupying it. Tension filled the air as everyone remained alert, ready to defend themselves if necessary. However, what happened next surprised them all.
The central square's screen, still functioning despite the prevailing chaos, emitted a deafening sound that resonated in every corner of the district. It was Jacob's voice, the leader of the rebellion, echoing a clear and powerful message: "We are not enemies, I am Jacob!"
The voice reverberated in the hearts of the rebels, filling their souls with hope and caution simultaneously. The sound was followed by a moment of silence as everyone processed the information. Slowly, fingers moved away from the triggers of their weapons as curiosity and uncertainty took hold of them.
The doors of the Hovercrafts opened slowly, revealing Jacob, closely followed by Finnick, Johanna, Brutus, and Enobaria—figures recognized and respected for their bravery and skills in the fight against the Capitol. Their presence commanded respect and generated an air of trust among the rebels.
Jacob stepped forward, displaying serenity in his gaze and voice. He explained his intention to join the fight in District 12, to stand alongside those who had risen against the oppressive regime. He expressed gratitude for the rebels' courage and resistance and urged them to continue fighting for a better future.
Jacob's speech was met with a collective sigh of relief and a mixture of emotions oscillating between hope and caution. The rebels, aware of the danger still surrounding them, found in Jacob and his allies' presence a new impetus to carry on the struggle.
Jacob grabbed a weapon and shouted, "Load the wounded onto this hovercraft, all those who can no longer fight, withdraw now."
"They did it much faster than I expected," Finnick said as he took a weapon and stood beside Jacob.
"You should leave. We don't have the proper equipment to face the peacekeepers..." Jacob didn't want to put Finnick in danger, not after remembering what happened to him in the future.
"Well, it's a shame. I don't want to hear that Finnick Odair escaped to the rear of the battle after arriving in District 12." Finnick had already made a decision.
"To hell with it all, let's fight." Said Brutus as he took off his Hunger Games suit and put on an agent of peace suit he had received.
"No way, we're staying." Said Johanna as she approached to help the wounded.
With District 12 as the backdrop of the battle and Jacob as their leader, the rebels prepared for the next chapter of the revolution. The fate of the district and the hope for a better future intertwined in that crucial moment. Together, they would advance towards victory, never forgetting the price they were willing to pay for freedom.
...
"Everyone, move and take your positions. Remember, only the helmets with the red mark are our allies, don't make a mistake." Jacob put on his helmet and along with a dozen more people, they lined up in front of about thirty people who were kneeling.
Jacob's idea was to wait for the reinforcements coming in the aerodesliders not to attack District 12 from above. He wanted to give them the impression that they had solved the problem with great success.
On the right side, there were also people hidden behind the rubble, remaining alert to shoot at the enemies.
"This suit fits me quite well!" Jacob thought as he put on the helmet.
The Peacekeepers are dressed in white uniforms made in District 8.
The uniforms change in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, inspired by insects. Now the helmets completely cover the head, and the visor covers the face completely, unlike the first installment, which was black. Additionally, they seem to be better protected, and the color of the gloves and boots changes from black to gray.
This is very good for Jacob because this way they can borrow these suits and conceal their identity. As he stood in front of his people, Jacob had learned the basics of the firearm in his hands from his intelligent assistant. It wasn't anything special, just a simple automatic rifle.
Peacekeepers are usually equipped with automatic weapons to further discourage social disobedience among the districts, but these weapons would be very helpful to Jacob in the upcoming war.
"[Sir, five squads are on their way to District 12!]"
"Good, establish communication!"
"[Establishing communication, attempting to intercept control of the aerodesliders in the meantime!]"
Jacob adjusted his breathing and began to speak, "Situation under control in the central plaza of District Twelve. The rebels fled to the South... We have many wounded. We need reinforcements to secure the central zone."
After waiting for a moment, a voice came into Jacob's head, "Reinforcements are on their way. Hold on for now. We will land in the central zone while bombing the South."
Jacob cut off communication and soon saw three aerodesliders passing through the heavily bombed area of the southern part of District 2, firing and bombing the surroundings.
That was the plan. He knew that not all of them would descend if District 12 was in flames. The first thing the Peacekeepers would do was to bomb District 12. But now that the zone was supposedly under the control of the Peacekeepers, as long as one aerodeslider descends, they will be eliminated while Jacob's intelligent assistant controls the aerodesliders in the sky.
"[Invading the systems of the five aerodesliders in the sky, charge at 75%...]"
"They're coming, get ready, and fire when the signal is given."
