That figure.
That figure which had walked into the hall, managing to snatch my attention.
She looked torn.
Torn by me, of course.
If only I'd be spared a chance to tell her how sorry I am. Sorry that Valerie snatched her diary from my hold, and brought this gloom to her.
This gloom that was now getting the most of her.
It broke me to see that blank expression in her eyes. Broke me even more to see her trying to settle in this area.
I watched her gaze skim through the room, and finally resting on the table at the far end.
That table where her friends sat.
Even at the sight of them, the melancholy still remained with her.
What have you done, Zac?
She only pushed slowly to the food counter, eyes fixed on the ground.
I'd never come to bear her in such state. A state that made me try to figure who that girl was.
I yearned to see that smile which would grace her face every now and then. That one which caused my being fluttering.
Fuck! I yearned to hold her.
My eyes were found accessing every of her movements, as she pulled even nearer to the counter.
There she stood, keeping to the silence, face dull, eyes fixed forwards. And not until some form, I barely recognized spun to her, did her mouth pull open.
My attention was now even intent on the figure away, watching the smile that took her lips while whoever that person was, conversed with her.
I had never come across that profile anywhere, never seen him around school.
And why ever did his words seem to leave her rushing with every life.
Between you and I, it infuriated me.
He drew even nearer to her, face inching towards her hear, and even from this side, I could tell how tense that form was, yet, that smile still remained on her lips, seemingly amused at that fellow before her.
It left me so mad how he managed to pull a smile to her lips, and— I froze at the sight of him pulling her hands, and slowly, planted a kiss there.
That action which now brought the scowl to my face.
Who is this person?
***
I stormed into the dorm, bursting the door open, walking into the gaping eyes of Axel and Maverick fixed on me.
"The fuck is wrong with you?" Axel called at once, gaze watching as I took to my bed.
"Do not tell me the whole Dia—
"Piss off, Axel!"
I knew where he was headed. That direction which only led to him quizzing if there was something going on, which I chose best to keep them out of.
Something that involved Anna.
Their suspicions arose after word of the diary spread around, and coming to know that the diary they saw a couple times at my bedside, was actually hers, even sparked their curiosity more.
"Oh, come on, Zac" I heard the voice of Maverick.
"I'd be happy to tell you all about the girl I shagged the night before, and just for you to make it clear what this is all about, you decide to back away"
"I never asked to know of your escapades" Followed my voice. "Believe me, no one wishes to hear of those" I added.
"Come on, man" Axel pitched in. "What's been going on?"
"And why does Valerie wear a frown whenever I walk by?" He added.
"Valerie always wears a frown" Maverick was kind to interject.
"No, not this time"
"It feels like I'm taking your side for something I know nothing of" Axel let out immediately
"At least, let us in, so we could know what's—
His words were found hanging in the air, as a figure walked into the room, pulling something along with him.
That entrance had left Maverick and Axel with puzzled gazes, eyes lingering on the figure walking into the space of our room.
I recognized that profile. Of course, I did.
And only when he had pulled his gaze up, finally acknowledging our presence, did I get proper view of the form.
"I guess this is it" His voice remained low, eyes still skimming each corner of the room. And for a second, I caught a frown tugging at his lips, but it was gone in a second, gaze soon shifting from Maverick, all the way to Axel, and finally taking rest on me.
"Who are you?"
Believe Axel to never conceal the thoughts that filled his mind, the words had stumbled out his lips without warning.
"I should be asking you that?" Came that response. "I mean, I was clear on wanting to room alone, so why the hell do I find three shab figures peering back at me"
That chuckle left the lips of Maverick at the drop of the boy's words, with eyes scanning the fellow away.
"No way he just called us shab" Maverick turned to me, with the glee filling his gaze.
"The room's occupied" I couldn't tell when the words had dropped from my lips, but they poured out regardless, with my figure soon moving to the door, hands gesturing.
"Get out" I followed.
His gaze only shifted through every part of me, eyes blank on my form, while that grin took his lips.
"I swear, this was one of the reasons why I was specific on no roomies" He called.
"Well, that and—tending to my private needs without the interruption of no man" He called out.
"I mean how do you expect me to ease my body of its needs when there are three bickering ladies in here with me?"
"That's it" The voice of Axel broke out, figure inching closer to him.
"I don't know who assigned you here, but the room's occupied" He called at once, index pointed at the door where I still stood.
"Leave" He added in a low voice.
"Don't get your panties in a twist, Cinderella. Even I would rather be anywhere but here—That voice followed, the sigh leaving his lips—But you see, I just scaled three flights of stairs to get here, I'm not turning around for anything now"
"Do yourself a favor, and get some rest" He added, soon pulling his luggage to the empty bed at the corner.
"I'm your roomie, now" His utterance was low.
He had slumped to the bed, the low sighs leaving his lips, while the gazes of Maverick, Axel and I remained blank of that figure.
And at that, I had stormed out the room, walking away. Walking from the rage that threatened to get a hold of me.
I was in desperate need of calm.
