Chapter 25 - 24

"I need you guys to hear me out first"

The voice of Audrey broke out in the room, with those attention-derived eyes fixed on the forms of Hannah Grace and I.

For some reason she had jolted us off our sleeps, going on about how necessary it was that she talked to us immediately.

I caught agitation rested in her gaze. Agitation laced with anticipation, or perhaps worry. M

"Is this one of your 'let's take a trip out the dorms to explore the yards on the other end' " Hannah Grace yawned.

"Even better!" I watched the eyes of the girl stood away, rush with delight.

"Oh, God"

That utterance had Hannah turning over to me, gaze filled with confusion and mostly worry.

"Audrey we're not partaking in anything that will put us in trouble" She followed at once, pulling the sheets to her chest ready to retire to bed, but the words that followed from the lips of Audrey had snapped her back.

"What exactly about taking a trip to a Cinema is troubling?"

I was mostly confused than alarmed at her foretelling, but I couldn't say the same of Hannah Grace whose jaw had dropped, with eyes widened at the figure before us.

"Are you mental, Audrey?" I heard that British voice become even prominent.

"What are you talking about?" She added.

"Axel invited me to the town's Cinema"

My eyes were blank at her, eyes catching the pensiveness that resided in her gaze. It was just a week ago she was telling me how undecided they both were about what went on between them, and now, so open she is, not even caring the reaction her utterance earned from Hannah and I.

"First of all, who's Axel?" The words stumbled from Hannah.  "Secondly, I'm not sneaking out with you to a Cinema" Followed the voice of the girl beside me.

"Do you know what is to befall us if we are to get caught"

"No one's getting caught, Hannah" Audrey drawled, pulling out three baseball caps from her closet.

"We'll need these" She followed at once, tossing one to me and another onto Hannah.

"We?"

Hannah had spun to me immediately, eyes broadened.

"You're not saying anything!" She cried.

"That's because it's not something to make a fuss off" Audrey pitched in right before I had the chance to.

"I mean...as long as we don't get caught" My voice was low.

I really didn't mind sneaking out of the dorms, even if it meant me facing the board with an apparent suspension held to my name, if we were to get caught, but I had decided to live a little, after all.

It was my desire to change all those things that I knew to go by, back in Stanford. Simply put, I was a changed person now, and yes, I knew my decisions just might bring about regrets, but something irregular was tugging at the girl inside of me.

"See? Anna doesn't mind" Audrey called soon returning to her closet, fetching out cloth after cloth.

"Well she should" Came the voice. That worry filled voice belonging to Hannah Grace.

Her eyes were fixed on me, gaze begging me to say something, something that would put this presumed madness to a halt, but I knew not I would say to an already enthusiastic Audrey who was bent on having the three of us walk out of here to a night that just might have us in troubles.

And that we did.

At around 11:00 p.m, we went sneaking into the hallway, going through corners, eyes on the watch for the night guards whose torches would flash around the walls every now and then, yet somehow, they caught no sight of three figures scaling the walls, hurrying into the streets on a destination that laid far at the heart of town.

"This isn't right, Audrey" The nagging voice of Hannah Grace continued, voice pouring out in whispers.

"I have a bad feeling about this" She added.

"And for the love of God, you still haven't told me who Axel is"

Her utterance had put a halt to Audrey, a weak sigh pouring out her lips, while she turned to the girl behind.

"You know who Axel is" She followed at once.

"Yes I know who he is" Called Hannah "I'm just lost on what he has to do with you" She added.

My eyes scanned the streets, shifting through each corners.

It was empty.

Not even a car had gone by us, and believe me that terrified me much.

Now, If we were to get caught, we would be in serious trouble. Not just the trouble that involved the school authorities, but even more the police, if anyone was to come across three girls lone on the deserted streets.

"Axel and I have been seeing each other" Audrey dropped.

I caught the eyes of Hannah turn from narrow and broadened, and soon laced with confusion.

"You mean the same Axel that I see—

"Yes, the same one. That one who's friends with the boy you pine over. Do you want me to go on or what?" Audrey cut in.

"The streets are dark, Hannah. We could get on with our journey. Or stay here arguing about something so little"

"Please—She pulled closer to the girl, taking her hands in hers— Come with me on this one" Her voice was low, eyes locked in Hannah's, watching her with intent.

Meanwhile I remained staring at the two away, onlooking their forms stood before me.

And just like some couple with a juddering relationship, they settled their dispute after much gazing and sighing.

"I don't like the fact that you're agreeing on this, Anna" Hannah had pulled towards me, her voice low.

"And the next time you don't back me up on something serious as this. I swear to God, I'll burn your school uniform" Her eyes were dull, yet I caught onto the pensiveness in her voice.

"I can't take sides!" I interjected.

"Well you can speak up when Audrey is trying to put us all in trouble!" She snapped.

A low sigh soon emitted from her lips, eyes turning to Audrey.

"I'm only doing this all for the fact that I can't sleep in the room alone—Called Hannah Grace sharply— It has nothing to do with you, Audrey" She added, soon taking the lead, storming away.

"I love you too, Hannah" Audrey had called out, soon grabbing my hands, while we went hurrying down the road.

"Wait up, Hannah. You don't even know where we're going" But she went on, not even sparing us a glance.
