Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Arrangements

A new day had come, so Uno stretched his limbs and took a bath. It's difficult to take a bath because there is no water system. Uno is considering installing a good water system in the future for the sake of convenience and hygiene.

In Myriad, Uno discovered the cycle of time, which is the same as on Earth. Uno informed Randy Cooper and Ian Stewart that a meeting would be held in his wooden manor at 9:00 AM.

Uno steps outside the wooden manor and takes out a sundial to check the time. "Hm... It's 7 a.m.; let's do some light exercise." Uno performed 100 pushups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10K run, however, the exercise was a breeze and he didn't even break a sweat.

After completing an exercise routine, Uno enters the wooden manor and cleans himself. Uno then waits for Randy Cooper and Ian Stewart to arrive while organizing today's plans.

knock, knock, knock...

Uno opened the door and welcomed Randy Cooper and Ian Stewart, saying, "Good morning, come on in."

Uno begins the meeting by saying, "I have three important instructions for today. The first is that yesterday, I discovered a green goblin tribe and cleared one scout camp. I will lead the five new recruits, including you Ian Stewart, to gain experience."

Randy Cooper and Ian Stewart were stunned when they heard the news and asked Uno, "Village Chief, is that true?" Uno confirmed, "Yes, but this is an opportunity to strengthen ourselves. We are going to nurture the five new recruits as the foundation of our village. Tomorrow, Ian and the five recruits will scout the east for any danger."

"Before I give the second instruction, Randy, may I inquire about the status of our village?" Uno said to Randy Cooper.

Randy Cooper reported, "Yes, Village Chief. We have already built two lumberyards that can produce 140 units of lumber per day. We expect to consume 30 units of lumber for everyday use, so that is 110 units of lumber for reserves. The two lumberyards can each hold 1000 units of lumber, which is due to the blueprint and increases lumber production by 20%. Our village was able to build two farmlands that cultivate potatoes and span 445 acres separately, can store 2000 units of food, and will yield 720 units of potatoes every two weeks due to a 20% increase in food production and a two-fold boost in agriculture. We are expected to consume 50 food units every day. As a result, there are 20 units of food for reserves.

Unfortunately, we do not have a quarry blueprint, and we built two makeshift quarries as a result, we can only produce 40 units of stones, and there is no proper storage. We intend to construct the wooden houses, wooden fences, and barracks today."

"Nice work," Uno says, "I'll try to find a quarry blueprint; we should expect the village to grow in population, so build three more farmlands, wooden houses in the south, and barracks in the north before we focus on building a wooden fence."

Randy Cooper answered, "Understood, Village Chief."

"This brings my second instruction, Randy... Post a recruitment notice for 5 more additional trainees and find a manager for each resource, which means 1 lumberyard manager, 1 quarry manager, and 1 farmland manager. They will still do the same job, but they will report to you about concerns and progress. Introduce them to me tomorrow."

Randy Cooper responded, "Yes, Village Chief; I will complete your arrangements."

"My last agenda for today is, Ian Stewart, Tell me about our 5 new scout recruits?" Uno asked.

"Yes, Village Chief. All of our 5 new scout recruits have no ability skills and were taken from the lumbermen group. They were all chosen because of their Agility and Wisdom attributes because Agility is the vital stat for scouting and Wisdom for carrying out difficult orders. They are currently at combat power ✪(1), with Agility being the highest." Ian Stewart reported.

"Good work, Ian," Uno remarked. "You will all join me in clearing green goblins, and my final instruction is to recommend one scout recruit who you believe has the ability to lead after tomorrow's mission."

Ian Stewart responded, "Yes, Village Chief."

Uno adjourned the meeting and went with Ian Stewart to meet the new scout recruits.

"Thank you all for your courage. Our mission today is to kill green goblins. If any of you do not want to go, you can back out now," Uno observed the new scout recruits.

The new scout recruits react in various ways, and one is even unbothered, but none of them back out and say, "We will follow you, Village Chief."

"Good job," Uno remarked with a smile, "All of you will not regret it."

Uno departed with Ian Stewart and the new scout recruits.

Uno informed the group about the green goblins while they were traveling. Ian Stewart is capable of eliminating a green goblin in a one-on-one battle, but the new recruits can only endure. Uno taught them to fight using a strategy known as "Movement of 1," in which five people move as one to overcome an opponent. Someone will defend against the strike while others attack, and two people are on standby to switch with the defender in case of an unexpected strike from an opponent.

They arrived at a green goblin camp after 3 hours. This camp is slightly larger than the first and currently shelters 18 green goblins. Uno then told the group, "I'll go in first to confront the green goblins and simply wait for a green goblin to come towards you. If two green goblins arrive, Ian will kill the other one. I order you Ian to not assist them in killing the green goblin. Do you guys understand?"

"We understood, Village Chief," Ian Stewart and the new scout recruits replied.

Uno entered the green goblin camp with his Kampilan sword and dagger.

After about ten minutes, the scout recruits begin to worry, "Captain Ian, is the Village Chief going to be okay?" Ian did not react directly, just muttering, "I think I experienced this before."

After another 5 minutes, a lone green goblin ventures outside and notices a group of people in the distance. It dashed forward with its dagger, attacking the group. "Prove yourselves," Ian Stewart said, "remember what Village Chief taught you about."

The scout recruits nodded and said, "Understood!"

A bulky young man raised a wooden shield and blocked the green goblin's dagger. The bulky young man was overpowered by the green monster, who gleamed in a crimson haze. The green goblin pushed the bulky young man off, causing him to stumble backward and fall down. The green goblin used this opportunity to stab the bulky young man. "Oh no, Eric!" someone said. Eric raised his wooden shield to resist the attack while on the ground, and then someone stabbed the green goblin with a spear, and then someone shield charged the green goblin.

The green goblin is being blocked by the new defender, who is tracking the strike, while the spearman recruit is looking for openings to stab. "Thank you, Yoru and Edwin," Eric stood up.

"Yeah! I need help now," Edwin, who is blocking, exclaimed, and Yoru, who is wielding the spear, responded by nodding. Eric positioned himself to assist Edwin.

"Ready for a switch?" Edwin asked, to which someone replied, "Yeah. Let me switch you."

"All right," Edwin said before stepping back, and a fat man with a shield charged toward the green goblin.

The green goblin is truly exhausted, and the [Frenzy] is no longer active. It was thrown off by the charge and then stabbed by two spears.

The green goblin then abruptly came to a stop. The group received 90 EXP and was surprised and pleased with the number, saying, "Oh shit! It's 90 EXP. AHAHAHA." It appears that they all received the same amount of EXP.

"Good Cover, George," Edwin said to the fat man before fist-bumping him.

When Yoru and a skinny guy returned to the group, the skinny guy asked, "What now?"

"I don't know, Zhang," Eric replied.

"Be ready, guys," Ian Stewart cautioned everyone.

They all said, "Yes, Captain Ian."

After three minutes, another green goblin exits from the camp and attacks them. They performed the same thing but in a better way. Eric's shield blocks the green goblin, and Yoru and Zhang stab it. George and Edwin are standing by, ready to help.

When the green goblin gets exhausted and the ability skill fades. The green goblin will then be shield charged by George, and Edwin and Eric will make it stumble for Yoru and Zhang to finish it off.

ding!

"Hey! I leveled up. HAHAHAH!" Eric exclaimed with delight. "Man, me too. HAHAHAHA," Yoru added.

"Recruits, please do not use your unallocated stats for the time being," Ian Stewart advised.

They all nodded and replied, "Yes, Captain Ian."

Five minutes later, two green goblins walk out from the camp and attack their group. "Let me handle the goblin in the right, and you can take care of the other goblin," Ian Stewart said, pulling the other green goblin in by using his bow.

They all nodded and said, "Yes, Captain Ian."

Ian Stewart barraged the green goblin with arrows, and it died quickly because it had no way of blocking the shots.

After only two minutes, the new scout recruits had killed the remaining green goblin. Then Zhang, Edwin, and George advanced to level 2.

After 15 minutes, the group killed two more green goblins, then Uno left the camp with one green goblin in tow. He tosses the green goblin and hands it a dagger, saying, "Recruits, show me how you fight."

They all nodded and replied, "Yes, Village Chief."

Uno examined the recruits and appreciated the fluidity of their movements. It begins with pure defense and a few opportunistic strikes until the green goblin's ability skill fades. Then they will charge the green goblin, forcing it to tumble before delivering a lethal stab.

Once the green goblin is dead, Uno received the mission reward.
