The next day had arrived and Alex, being in a different body had to wake up early as he got ready for school. From the little amount he had left, he bought some cheap noodles from the store below his apartment. That cost him only three dollars. Once he was done eating, he set out for school.
It didn't take long for him to get to school as his house wasn't too far from the where it was located. After all they were both located in the same city.
He appeared at the gate of the school which had the name 'Chestercity High School' written on them. He went through the gates and could see many other students arriving and walking together in twos and threes. He was one of the few who was walking alone. And that was because he had no friends in the school.
'This dude is just like me. A complete introvert who had no affiliations with any friends. Although, I eventually made one friend. Thomas Hemsworth, *chuckles* that dude, he used to be quite adorable back in college. He said he liked me and wanted to be my friend. I almost thought he was gay, haha!'
He got to the spot where he fell yesterday, there was a yellow police tape around the area with a few cops inspecting the site. They were trying to find out what happened within the region to have caused Alex to slump and fall to the ground.
'Why are they inspecting the area, it's not like I was stabbed or anything. They should perform a proper scan of my stomach, that's where the problem is.' Alex wanted to say, but he knew how suspicious it would sound.
Not to talk of the fact that the cops won't let him go as they'll keep on questioning and interrogating him, which he wasn't interested in doing. If anything, he hates talking.
He quickly left the area and went into his assigned class which was already occupied with multiple students. They were all chatting and talking among each other, but most of their discussions was about Alex Stale.
"I heard Alex has no relative or siblings."
"What? No way! Is he an orphan then? What will happen to his wealth and properties. Did he just lose them all?"
'Damn it, will these kids just shut up!' Alex groaned with frustration as he walked towards the backseat.
Soon after, the homeroom teacher had entered the classroom; standing in front of the marker board with the class register in her hands. Right after she entered, a young student with a wavy brown hair had followed after her.
"Morning students, I'd like to introduce you to your newest classmate. Her name is Stacy, please treat her well."
A round of applause went off after the teacher ended her speech and after bowing a few times, Stacy was told to find an empty seat. Most of the seats at the front has been occupied, so she went towards the back, where an empty seat was located; right beside Alex's seat. The two exchanged glances but neither one said anything to the other.
After the attendance was marked, the teacher called out for Alex, asking him to follow her to the office.
'Oh, she must be the one that called yesterday.' Alex thought as he walked closely behind her. But then he was reminded of something. 'Wait, didn't she said the cops wanted to ask me a few questions today?'
"Where are we going?" He asked.
"To my office, there's a cop waiting to see you." The teacher replied, but she noticed a slight change in Alex's mood.
"I can see that you're worried." Morgan said, "Don't worry, they're not here to arrest you. As long as you're not a criminal or something, you should be fine. They're just conducting some investigation about Alex's death. I'll be there with you in case anything happens." The teacher assured him.
They got inside her office which already had a man sitting in one of the chairs. He was in a black suit and had a very creepy smile on his face as he saw the two entering the office.
'Why force yourself to smile when it doesn't suits you.'
"Morning Alex." The man said as he gestured for him to sit opposite him.
To be honest, Alex was feeling a little uneasy by this man's appearance, and to be frank, he knew this person was no police. He looks like some kind of gangster. Something about him just wasn't right.
Before the man could say anything, Alex had decided to ask him a question.
"Are you a cop?" He asked.
The man chuckled as he heard his question and just looked at the homeroom teacher standing by the entrance.
"Your teacher did tell you that I'm a police, didn't she?"
"I was told that I'm meeting a cop, but honestly, you don't look like one." Alex said as he carefully looked at the man till he spotted a tattoo around his neck. A tattoo he recognised so well.
"Err, Alex. Mr Harry here is the cop I said you'll be meeting." Morgan said, turning to look at the man. "I think he must be nervous. Don't be bothered by his words."
She chuckled nervously, as she tried to ease the tension between the two.
"Do I look like I'm nervous to you." Alex stated with a scrunched brow, then he turned to look at the man. "Can you get on the question real quick. I've got a class to attend."
"I can see you're a smart guy, so I'll go straight to the point. From the information we received from your fellow schoolmates, they said you were among those who saw Alex before he passed out. I heard that he even spoke some things to you."
"So?" Alex was getting annoyed as he listened to the man's words. Now that he looked at his face more clearly, he recalled seeing him somewhere. However, he had no idea where or who he was.
"Here's my question, did you notice anything strange before Alex passed out, did he sounded weird or like he was in some kind of pain."
"Some kind of pain?" Alex said.
"Yeah, maybe you saw him holding his stomach while he was talking to you. Or he was in a discomfort as he talked to you. I need you to tell me what you see. It could be helpful in letting us determine the cause his death."
Perhaps if this man was a real cop, he would've told him the truth, but since he wasn't, he had no other choice but to say otherwise.
"Mister, I'm not the only one he talked to, and if anything, I didn't notice any of those things you mentioned. He looked fine to me before he passed out. Maybe if you ask Max and the rest who were there yesterday, you might get your answer. I can help you call them over." Alex stated.
If the man agrees to this, he would listen in to their conversation and see if Max or anyone noticed that he had a stomachache before he slumped.
"Oh, I already asked them, you don't have to worry about that. Thanks for your time, you can get going now." Harry eventually said and Alex instantly stood up from his seat, as he left the office while shutting the door behind him.
Once Alex had left, Harry thanked the homeroom teacher after which he exited her office. As he got out of her office, he dialled a number on his phone. It rang a few times before it was picked from the other side.
"I'm done, boss. No one knew anything." Harry claimed.
"Ok." The voice said and the call ended right there.
Soon after, Harry drove out of the school, heading for another destination.
Meanwhile, Alex who had been listening to the short conversation between Harry and the unknown person on the other line, immediately came out of hiding after seeing him left.
"What the hell is going on?"
