[FINN POV]
A few weeks after mom's…..passing, a funeral was held for her. It was held in a church she attended before her death based on the few words I understood from the Pastor's speech.
A lot of people came for it, so many that the entire church where the service was held wasn't big enough to contain everyone at some point some people had to attend the service outside the church.
With the large majority of people attending having sad expressions on their faces,a minority of the people, mainly family and friends shedding a few tears and barely being able to contain their emotions probably cause of how close they were to my mom.
But an even smaller few of the population had unreadable expressions on their face with some filled with pity and a look of guilt from Uncle Simon which seemed to be directed at me, while others had a neutral or rather an indifferent expressions.
A few people came up the podium to say a few words about my mom like
Grandpa Jonathan who is my Dad's dad, a tall blonde haired man with some strands of white hair in his neatly packed hair,a man well into his late fifties that still looks like he just entered his late forties.
A man that from the few weeks I've known him was always confident, joyous and playful grandfather was just a shell of his former self in this situation, which was replaced with a face of grief that could only be seen from his eyes due to him still trying to uphold his image to the public.
Grandma Eunice who is my mom's mom, she had golden or blonde coloured hair that seemed to go down past her shoulders, with emerald coloured eyes, despite being over fifty she didn't look a day over forty, she had this look of wisdom on her face that seemed to come with age but now she just looked like a distraught barely holding herself together.
Aunt Hertha my mom's best friend, she had a pale complexion with dark hair to complement it, with a bit of blue highlights at the tips with sky blue eyes, she had a face of stoicism that only seemed to crumble in really painful times like now.She seemed to be gripping a bracelet, one I will assume she got from my mother. If not for the fact it was valuable to her I'm very sure that she would have broken the bracelet with the strength at which she was gripping it.
Dr Petrikov or Uncle Simon who is my mom's protege and successor in the medical field. A white haired man with circular glasses that had kept his hair tied into a pony tail that was tied with a red ribbon. He was fair in complexion with dull brown eyes. With how young he looks he seems to have just recently hit his early twenties. A very intelligent man who always does his best to make me laugh by making funny faces, and he's been with me ever since my delivery always visiting me constantly.
But in this solemn time he had the face of a man who was begging for forgiveness with a bit of guilt laced in his expression.
And finally Uncle Joshua who was my mom's butler and her "brother in arms" according to him. A blonde dog man or dog faunus well into his thirties. With his hair held back into a pony tail held back by a black ribbon with a grey fedora hat, he had eyes as blue as the ocean. He had a small scar that went diagonally from the left side of his fore head to the right. He had a solemn expression on his face and a bit of a guilty look in his eyes but he also seemed to be in deep thought, but with that time the guilt turned to anger , one that seemed to be directed at himself based on how close he was to piercing his palms with how tight he was squeezing his knuckles.
After they all said a few words about her while shedding a few tears the service finally came to an end and her body was then taken to the cemetery to be buried . The pastor then said a few words as a prayer.
"Ladies and Gentlemen….we gather here today to appreciate the life of a Sister, a Mother, a Daughter ,a Teacher and a very Good friend….a blessing to all and one always willing and ready to help others in need, and as she has passed on to the other side, she will be forever alive in our memories.."
The coffin housing my mother, with her corpse being covered in a bed of roses was closed and then placed slowly into the grave that had a tombstone that was reserved for her. We all just watched in silence as it was placed in the grave, and was slowly covered with dirt until the coffin couldn't be seen anymore.
"Rest in peace Sister…"
Said the pastor after she was buried.
The crowd of people surrounding the grave started dwindling slowly until a few people were left that included Uncle Joshua, The pastor and Aunt Hertha since he was the one holding my stroller with me in it.
"Things are not going to be the same without you Minerva….you will be missed sister.."
Said Uncle Joshua before he dropped a sunflower on her grave and took me to the car so we could go back home to the cambell estate that was under my mother's name but since her next of kin isn't legally old enough to accept his inheritance, Uncle Joshua will be incharge of my mother's wealth until I am old enough to take over it.
You may be wondering why not just have my Grandmother take care of it considering she's still alive and kicking, well that's because my mother even in her eternal rest tries her best not disturb others, and so she just decided to leave me in the hands of her brother so as not to disturb grandma…..grandma is a bit tiring on the mouth so I'll call her Gam Gam?…..Gamie?...Gam Gam would be a much better thing for a kid to say.
We got to the parking lot of the church, with two people already waiting at the car and those two were grandma Eunice who was about to break into tears with Aunt Hertha trying her best to comfort her in the process trying her best not to release the Dam of water works.
Upon noticing us approach, grandma decided it was better not to show a weak side of her to her grandson that's probably whats going on in her head.
"Are we ready to go madam's?"
Uncle joshua asked both of them.
Grandma then nodded while giving him a small smile.
"I can't keep moping forever…..she wouldn't like that, she would rather we keep looking forward plus I've got her bundle of joy to look after.."
Said my grandma as she looked at me with a gentle smile before she kissed my forehead.
"I just know this little one will be a bundle of trouble just like his mother. Well I'm always going to be there to set him straight just like I did for his mom"
Said uncle Joshua, while looking at me before giving me a goofy smile\
"Thank you Joshua..for everything"
said Gamie.
before we all entered the car and went to the estate.
