"My name is Daniel Gress. Nice to meet you."
Said Daniel with a smile while looking at the little girl.
"But let's forget for now the trivial introduction. We need to take your brother to my home so he can rest properly."
Without any hesitation, the girl agreed. She knew that Daniel would hurt her or her brother, so why heal her brother? She decided to go with him.
Daniel wanted to take her and her brother to ensure they were trustworthy.
When he learned he had a daughter, he didn't want to depend on Sarah's mother, Alice. He wanted to be one of the providers, so he thought of ways to make money and where he could get ideas of how and the products. Isn't there a whole world that he could reclaim?
Also, for some reason, he feels that he may need a team to keep his family safe if he ever is away in other worlds. And what better person than those who can get a talent after receiving some of his blood?
On the way to his home, Daniel, who had Karl behind him, decided to buy abundant food. After all, he will need it when he wakes up because his transformation from reaching the human physic's limit to healing and awakening a talent doesn't defy the laws on energy conversion.
When Daniel reaches home with the girl and Karl, he puts the sleeping Karl on his bed while leaving his sister on the couch.
Daniel grabbed all the food he bought and started cooking the food for Karl.
While cooking, Daniel asked the girl.
"What's your name?"
Getting startled by the unexpected question, she stayed quiet for a few seconds but snapped out her trans and answered.
"Yes, my name is Kay."
She also added.
"Thank you for saving my brother, but..."
Kay hesitated to ask. Seeing this, Daniel comforted her to say what she wanted to ask.
Feeling a little better, she asked Daniel.
"Why would you help my brother? And What are you?"
Hearing Kay's question, Daniel laughs a little. He then proceeded to answer her.
"To your question about what I am, I am a human, but I'm special because I am what one would call an ability user. "
"Regarding your question of why help your brother, is it because of a certain smell or, to be more specific, yours and your brother's smell, particularly yours."
Feeling a little upset, Kay said.
"I know me and my brother don't smell good, but that doesn't mean you can make fun of us, and if you don't want to say why help my brother, don't say it. Me and my brother will leave after he wakes up so as not to bother you with our smell."
Seeing Kay upset after misinterpreting what he said, Daniel decided to clarify the misunderstanding.
"No, you got it all wrong. What I mean is I was attracted to your guy's smell because you have the probability of awakening an ability, just like your brother did while healing."
Hearing what Daniel said, Kay was confused.
"Ah? My bother just awakened an ability?"
"Yes, he did. You can ask him to show it to you after he wakes up."
While all this happened, time passed, and almost two hours or so passed, and Daniel finished cooking all the food he had brought.
While putting all the food on the table, Kay, who watched Daniel put the food, was surprised.
"Is all this food for us?"
Daniel answers her question.
"Yes and No. All part of this food is for you and me, and the rest is for your brother. He is going to need all this food."
When Daniel said all this, Karl was asleep and finally woke up, but he was a little disoriented because the last thing he remembers was dying after being stabbed and beaten, but now he is in a bed, and he is all right, with no wounds on his body.
While Karl was questioning his situation, he felt famished, like he hadn't eaten in months. Not knowing what to do, he suddenly started to smell the sweet smell of food, so he decided to head there.
When Karl reached where the smell came from, he saw a stranger and his sister sitting together with a lot of food.
Karl was about to question who the stranger was, but his body and hunger took over his reasoning, and without thinking about it, he went straight to the food and started to gobble up all the food close to his sight.
Kay, who saw all that Karl did, couldn't help but shake her head with shame at what her brother did. Daniel understood why she shook her head said.
"Don't worry. I don't mind. Also, that is an obvious reaction to someone hungry, and nothing will come to his mind until he has replenished much of the energy he uses to heal and strengthen himself."
Kay felt grateful that Daniel didn't blame them because of her action, and for some reason, she felt grateful and emotional, and all these emotions overwhelmed her heart so much that she ended up crying.
Karl was eating, and when he saw his sister like that, he stopped eating, and with guilt and anger, he tightened his fist, and a little blood started to come from his palm.
Seeing Karl and Kay like that, Daniel was confused as to what happened for the two of them to be like that, and he also noticed when looking at them how unkempt and filthy they were, as if there were living on the streets for a long time.
Feeling a little curious, Daniel asked them what happened.
"What happened to the two of you to be like this?"
Kay, who hears Daniel's question, stops crying and answers him.
"All this happened three months ago. We were a family of three, my Dad, my brother, and me. But one day, everything came crashing down. Our Dad was a director of a famous company, and he was a successful one, but one day dark and dirty rumors started to spread across the internet, and it also reached the CEO's head. He lost his job, but that wasn't all. He started to lose his reputation. He was always insulted and talked badly behind his back. We started to lose everything until, at some point, he couldn't handle it anymore, and he took his own life."
Hearing Kay, Daniel felt a little confused,d so he decided to ask.
"How do you know that he didn't do what the rumors say?"
This time was Karl who answered.
"We lost our mother when I was two; my sister was one year old. She died of an illness. So we grew up with our Dad, and we didn't feel like we need of our mother because Dad was always there for us. He always taught us to be upright since he had a sense of reason. One day I asked him why we always need to be upright."
After saying this, Karl couldn't help it anymore, and he started crying and said.
"He smiled at me and said that on our mom's deathbed, she asked him to promise always to take care of us and ensure we are upright young men and women. He told me that he really loved our mother, and when she died, he felt her whole world fall apart, but when he looked at us, he always saw her in us, which made him endure her death and fulfill his promise to her."
When Karl finished saying this, he, with all his strength, hit the table under him and ended up breaking the table. He was startled at what happened and looked at his hand.
Seeing him like this, Daniel started laughing, and an idea came to his mind.
"Would you guys want to have revenge on whoever did this to you?"
