"Would you guys want to have revenge on whoever did this to you?"
Asked Daniel to Kay and Karl, feeling their agony and sadness inside them.
But he asked them this because he could tell that they were not reconciled. They wanted vengeance, and they'll do anything to get it.
Daniel needs them to feel this if he wants them to work with him because they need to feel the world's unfairness and mature as an effect, making them apt to most things they need to do.
Kay and Karl, with rage in their eyes, answer.
"Yes, we want to make the one who destroys our life pay for what they did."
"Good!" said Daniel with happiness.
Daniel then stood up, when to the kitchen, and grabbed a glass from his shelf. He grabbed a knife, approached Karl and Kay, and sat down again.
Daniel said while putting the glass on the table and putting the knife into his palm.
"If you guys want to have even a chance to get revenge, you at least need to be on the same level."
Then Daniel cut his palm with the knife, squished his blood on the glass, and said to Kay.
"Now, drink that blood, and you and your brother will be on the same level."
"What do you mean?" Said Karl, and Kay nodded as if thinking the same thing.
Daniel, with a smile, explains.
"Karl, don't you feel different after waking up, almost like you are a new person? And don't you find it weird that you were dying, but now you are all alright after waking up?"
Karl was shocked to hear this because he had forgotten what had happened before and the feeling about his body that it was too accurate, so Karl nodded.
Daniel proceeded by saying.
"Well, this is all due to my blood. My blood can heal, and it has a 20% chance to make the person who drinks my blood awaken a talent."
"But there's also a type of people that have a chance of 100% awakening a talent after drinking my blood."
When Kay heard this, she exclaimed and said.
"smell"
"It's the smell. That's why you said you were attracted to our smell because you can smell those with a 100% chance of awakening a talent."
Hearing Kay's answer, Daniel was surprised. Kay is more intelligent than she looks to be able to infer with a few clues from his talk with her.
"Yes, you are correct," Said Daniel after appreciating Kay's intellect.
"it looks like my nose is not wrong to think that your brother manages to awaken a talent almost at his deathbed."
Complemented Daniel but then stayed quiet for a few seconds.
"and between the two of you, you, Kay are the one with the strongest smell, meaning that either you'll awaken a potent talent or have a bigger chance than normal people to awaken," added Daniel
Processing what Daniel said, Kay then said.
"What you just said, now, does it mean you don't know if I'll awaken a talent?"
"Yes, you're correct. After all, I can smell if you have a chance to awaken a hundred percent, it doesn't mean you can't fail."
"Just like your brother, normally does that are injured and almost dying have a 90% chance of not awakening a talent than actually doing it."
"So your brother was lucky in that moment to awaken a talent even when injured."
"So, do you still want to try to awaken a talent?"
Hearing this, Kay stayed silent and started thinking about everything that happened to her and her family, and she couldn't hold back her rage.
She wanted vengeance, no matter what it takes. Having made up her mind, Kay said to Daniel.
"I want to do it."
Hearing Kay answer, Daniel could hold back his smile.
Ever since Daniel chose his first skill, there were moments when he was a little sadistic, but he hasn't noticed. But it is still manageable for now, and it doesn't affect too much of Daniel's life for the moment.
Not waiting too long, Daniel grabbed the glass with his blood inside, gave it to Kay, and said.
"Now, drink and don't leave a single drop of blood; it will at least increase the chance of nothing wrong happening while awakening a talent."
Seeing the glass with blood, Kay grabbed it, and without hesitation, she drank it all. After putting the glass down, Kay closed her eyes hard and waited.
After waiting for a while and not feeling anything, Kay was confused. Was it a trick, or did she fail to awaken a talent?
Kay asked Daniel.
"Did I fail to awaken a talent? I don't feel anything different or feel stronger."
Hearing Kay, Daniel laughs.
"Of course, you will not feel anything because it takes a while to take effect."
Kay started to feel sleepy.
Kay yawned and then said.
"For some reason, I'm feeling sleepy."
"That means that my blood is taking effect. Now, all you need to do is sleep and wait for your body to transform while asleep, and surely we will see if you awaken a talent after waking up."
"If you want, you can take my bed to sleep, and I can take the sofa for now. After all, we don't know how long it will take for you to wake up again."
Without any second thought, Kay headed to Daniel's room.
"All right, I'll take you up on your offer."
Arriving on the bed, Kay plummets and falls asleep after her head touches the pillow. And Karl went to check on his sister and saw her breathing peacefully.
Karl then went towards Daniel and, while kneeling, thanked Daniel for his help.
"Thank you for helping me and my sister when we needed it and for also for helping us thank revenge on whoever ruined our family."
"You don't have to do that after all; when you guys have fulfilled your vengeance, it will need you to help me in return; of course, that is only if you guys want to keep working with me after everything is finished."
