Boarding school
Two words I never thought would come out of my mouth for all the days that I've been living. Well, two words I never thought would ever be directed to me at all. Whom so ever came up with that name was surely and truly a deranged person. Like seriously what person in their right mind would ever want to go to a stupid boarding school? I mean come on cut me some slack, wasn't regular school punishment enough? Why would anyone go to a school where you are literally trapped in for one to twelve years?
Anyway enough of my ranting, let me introduce myself. My name is Emma Stone, I'm 17 years old and I'm a werewolf. I would consider myself as your typical local girl. With my brown hair, blue eyes, tanned skin, and toned body with curves in all the right places, you could guess I was pretty good looking; or so I've been told. I'm the only daughter to the Alphas in my pack and a brother who is younger than me by two years named Matthew. So thankfully the next role for Alpha doesn't fall on my shoulders.
It was the end of summer when my father dropped that horrid bomb on me. But, luckily I wasn't the only one going and neither was my brother; basically every single wolf under the age of 18 not just in my pack but every other pack around the world were going. Why you may ask? While let me answer that for you...hunters and rogues were becoming a problem more quickly than they already are. There has been far to many attacks on packs across the nations and the adults were beginning to worry and go ballistic. The council had began the construction of two werewolf boarding schools a few years back just in case something like this were to ever happen. One on each end of the country. Me being from Hawaii will definitely end up going to the one on the west coast side. Personally I think this whole situation is absurd. We live in the middle of the pacific ocean. The thing about hunters and rogues are that they are a rarity in our parts. So I really don't think we had much to worry about.
Of course my protest had fallen into deaf ears. My parents being Alphas of our pack over ruled me--as usual. Definite downside in having Alphas as your parents. They didn't need to use their Alpha tone to get what they wanted when it came to their kids. I really did not want to leave my home in Hawaii. I love it here; everything I knew was here. How am I supposed to adjust to moving thousands of miles away from home? How am I supposed to move to a place far away from the ocean which if I may add is my playground?
After my semi-heated conversation with my parents about this arrangement I stormed off into my bedroom and grudgingly began packing up everything that I was gonna need. I was certainly not taking my surfboard much to my dismay. It took me less than an hour to pack everything that I needed. My parents told my brother and I that we didn't need to pack much of our clothes, just the clothes that would keep us warm. Since we're going to be in the middle of nowhere in Washington to a school called Full Moon West-- ha...how ironic.
I've read in books of how resistant to cold weather we werewolves are. Well, news flash this isn't twilight where nothing fazes us, in other words, yes, we do get cold. Surprised? Granted we don't get as cold as an average mere human gets cold in freezing weather; but cold nonetheless. Another thing, Silver? Myth. Yep, it's just a myth, it would suck if it were true, I really like silver; it's pretty and cool.
"Emma, honey are you ready?" My mom asked, standing at my doorway.
"Yeah, I don't have much of a choice but to be ready." I sighed.
"Sweetie, we've been through this already." She said, "It's for your own safety. For all of you."
"I know, I know." I said, rolling my eyes. "I get it mom, every pack around the world is doing this to protect the 'Next Generation.'"
"At least all of your friends will be there. It's not like we're shipping you and Matthew off to somewhere you won't know anyone." She offered as if that is ever going to help. We're literally going to be in the middle of nowhere.
Sure, it was great that everyone I've grown up with and have known my whole entire life will be going as well. But that just wasn't the point. The point is that I don't want to pack up and move just because of some messed up hunters and rogue wolves. Like I said, we've hardly come in contact with either of the two. I know for sure that I'm not being the easiest daughter in the world right at this very moment and I'm pretty damn sure other parents are going through the same problem as mine as we speak.
When my brother was finished and met us downstairs the three of us got into mom's car and drove off to the airport. Guess we weren't doing any shopping before we left. Matthew and I had asked our mom about that and she said we would do that once we land in Washington. She didn't want to pay extra for baggage which made absolutely zero sense at all as we got enough money to pay extra. As we drove the half an hour to the airport I was wondering if any of my friends were going to be on the same flight as me. Or at least some kids from the pack.
Once we parked the car in the parking lot we got out and made our way through the bustling airport. I silently thanked the moon goddess when I saw my friends Ava, Nolan, Kayden, Max, and Kylee huddling in one corner. I broke apart from my mom and brother and went over to them. I noticed Matthew doing the same when he spotted his friends. I love my friends to pieces and I don't know what I would have done if they were never going to be going on this hideous journey. Just kidding.
"Hey guys." I grinned while coming to a stop next to them.
"Oh thank God you're here." Ava sighed "Please tell me you're going to be on the next flight out?"
"Yup! I sure am." I said, popping the "P".
"I don't think Kylee and I would be able to handle these three monkeys alone on a seven hour flight."
"You do know one of these three monkeys is your mate, remember?" I pointed out.
"Yeah babe, I thought you loved me." Nolan pouted.
"I do, but the three of you alone in a very confined space is not a very good idea. I know for sure." She said, giving him an innocent grin.
"We aren't that bad." Max said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Actually, we kind of are." Kayden stated with a grin on his face.
"I'll be back, got to check in." I said looking over to my mom who just reached the check-in counter.
On my way to my mom I could hear my friends bickering. Mostly the girls in giving them a warning to behave themselves so they don't embarrass them too much. I snicker at that, it's going to be mighty hard trying to reign those boys in as it always was. Those three have a thing to do, something embarrassing or idiotic. Bunch of clowns they are, well hot clowns as Kayden would joke about it. Then again, my friends are damn hot either way you put it or see it. Kayden and Max would use their "hotness" to their advantage when it comes to girls. I swear they didn't need to utter a single word in order to get girls falling at their feet; humans and wolves alike. It's crazy. Super crazy. They aren't even womanisers' and they are proud of its outcome. Just so you know the keyword: were. I'd never understand that.
When we were done checking in I walked with my mom and brother through the security check and made it to our gate. Most of the parents weren't going within the flight as some of us are old enough to fly on our own. The younger kids had older siblings or family old enough to fly with them. I wasn't sure how this whole "boarding school" thing is going to work with babies though. But my mom cleared it up as soon as I voiced my thoughts out. My dad built some sort of panic room so to speak if any attacks were made on our pack for the families with children who were too young to fly alone with us. That's what he's been working on right now and why he couldn't make the trip with us.
A lot of the parents were glad that my mom would be flying out with us. They felt that their kids were in safe hands as they had the female Alpha on the plane with us. With how protective our mother is of Matthew and I; I wasn't surprised she tagged along. I'd actually be surprised if she didn't.
Even though I wasn't ready or happy to leave my home behind at least I wouldn't be sitting alone bored on the plane. I felt bad especially for the male wolves. My kind wasn't exactly small. All the guys were over 6ft tall and very well built so sitting in a tiny seated coach was going to be extremely hectic. One thing I noticed before we boarded was that the only humans on the plane were the pilot and stewardesses'. I honestly never took notice of how many under 18 year-old wolves we had in our pack until today.
