Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: A Ghost

Mr. Jinta: I think we have time until the next question. How about we take a break?

Both groups go to the canteen of the school for dinner.

Tanjiro: What kind of questions are these? Is it just me, or do you also find it to have some sort of dark, hidden meaning to it?

Sol: It does have some meaning. All the questions we answered gave hints.

Tanjiro: Why would you think that?

Sol: Because they all have a riddle-type answer. Just look at the last one we did. "Winter" was the answer. But what is so special about winter?

Tanjiro: Christmas!!

Sol: Oh, c'mon! This is not the time for jokes! The last question's answer waswinter," and the previous one was related to bullying. But how are Bully and Winter even connected?

Tanjiro: Well, since the students die one by one after each question, that probably means there must be some connection between Winter, bullying, and death.

Sol: Could it be that someone who was brutally bullied died in the winter?

Tanjiro: Mitsuha….

Sol: What?

Tanjiro: Mitsuha committed suicide two years ago in the winter. She was a bright student but was constantly bullied as she was from a poor family. All students were jealous of how she always managed to top the school. All the wanted to get a scholarship, but her ranking went low for the first time. The bullying became worse due to the sudden fall in her scores. The very next day, she was found dead on the school terrace.

Student: What if her ghost is haunting us and making us answer these questions?

Student: But why would she take revenge on us when we

Mr. Jinta: "Enough!" THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS GHOSTS, UNDERSTOOD! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR A SINGLE WORD ABOUT THIS ANYMORE!

Ms. Kayede: Sir, you scaring-

Mr. Jinta: DON'T INTERRUPT ME WHILE I AM SPEAKING!

Mysterious voice: It's time for the next question. It will be found in the 12th grade science lab. Good Luck!

Mr. Jinta: Ok, I have had enough of this nonsense." –

Ms. Kayede: Please don't; he will

Mr. Jinta: I know. But I don't care!

With that said, Mr. Jinta storms off to find the one behind all the killings. Meanwhile, Ms. Kayede and the rest of the students decide to do the next question.
