Chapter 7 - Saint Thorn High School

Three days passed quickly.

This time in the bedroom, Tang Qi put the last piece of clothing into the wooden box in front of him, closed and locked it. He then picked up an exquisite envelope on the bedside table which contained an admission notice. This was what Tang Qi had been waiting for three days.

The notice was made of some kind of icy smooth paper with intricate patterns around the edges. At the top was a badge with a holy sword entwined with thorns, exuding a noble and holy aura.

In the center, it read:

Dear Tang Qi, after review, we believe that you are an upright and kind young man who fully meets our requirements for Thorn apprentices. You have been admitted to Saint Thorn High School. Please report to Saint Thorn High School between May 3rd and 9th of the 102nd year of the Divine Eagle calendar.

The last line was the school motto:

May you wear the thorns, and may you finally cut through the thorns.

If you just look at this motto, you might think this is a church high school.

In fact, Saint Thorn High School was indeed a church school a hundred years ago. But as the power of the church declined, today's Saint Thorn High School is more like an aristocratic high school, known for its high teaching quality and good school spirit throughout Phoenix Province, and is also one of the name cards of Messer City.

The second small favor Tang Qi asked of Ronald was this.

The original body was exactly fifteen years old, which was the right age for high school.

If Tang Qi's original parents had not died unexpectedly, the Tang family's wealth and connections would have been enough to send Tang Qi to Saint Thorn.

Unfortunately, now alone, even if Tang Qi wanted to find connections, others would probably ignore him.

With Ronald's help, everything was different.

The reason why Tang Qi must enter Saint Thorn High School was of course coveting the title of an aristocratic student. In addition to finding a good place to study and learn about the new world, it was more to avoid the vengeance of the Zamra family.

According to Old Morgan's diary, as long as members of their family got close to Saint Thorn High School, their power would quickly weaken, even becoming weaker than ordinary people.

Even Zamra could not be exempt from this. The old witch guessed that this was because the power of the church still remained within Saint Thorn High School, and it was not trivial. Even without a fight, the aura it emitted could suppress the evil of black magic.

With this information, Tang Qi would be foolish not to take advantage of it.

Putting the notice into his arms and picking up the wooden box, Tang Qi locked all the rooms in the villa and finally locked the big iron gate. He took a last look at the completely deserted "home" with a calm face, turned around without regret and left.

The life of a rich second generation with a large fortune and no restraint seemed to be wonderful.

Unfortunately, this was not what Tang Qi wanted.

If he had not witnessed extraordinary power, Tang Qi might have enjoyed it calmly.

But now, everything was different.

Tang Qi carried the wooden box and strolled out of the forest path outside the villa. At this time, his appearance was a little different from when he was reborn. Comfortable black trousers, light blue linen shirt, a slightly formal short windbreaker, black hair and black eyes, he looked delicate and tender.

It had to be sighed that the original owner's appearance conditions were not bad and had a high affinity.

Therefore, in order to conceal it, Tang Qi searched for a pair of black-framed glasses in the villa and put them on, finally making himself less conspicuous.

The area where the Tang family was located was called "Logi", an environmentally friendly community where wealthy people lived, and most had their own means of transportation.

However, there were obviously many children, so there was public transportation running through the central forest path of the villa area.

At this time, a yellow bus came in front of Tang Qi.

On the bus, Tang Qi did not communicate with anyone and walked directly to an empty seat.

The buses here were free, probably because the costs were included in the villa management fees, so there was no conductor, and the stops did not require Tang Qi to say where he wanted to go. Obviously, his destination must be a stop.

In fact, as soon as he sat down, Tang Qi found that the destination of the people on the bus seemed to be the same as his.

Most of them were students.

Around the same age as Tang Qi, there were also one or two who looked a little older. Different from Tang Qi, they were all dressed in uniform-like clothes, similar to the aristocratic school uniforms he had imagined, but with the same badge over their heart.

The holy sword thorn emblem on that notice.

Probably because Tang Qi was not wearing a school uniform, the students on the bus glanced at him and turned away indifferently. The friendly ones just smiled. There were no inexplicable bullies coming out to bully him.

Tang Qi smiled back, perfectly portraying a shy and ordinary black-haired little boy.

He sat in a corner of the bus and had an uneventful trip. Soon the school bus arrived at the only stop - Thorn Street.

Following a group of students off the bus, the flow of people surged toward the building complex at the end of the street.

Ahead was a white brick and stone square. In the center was a low church that looked very old but without a trace of luxury, which was in line with the definition of the Church of Thorns, advocating suffering and hardship without pursuing gorgeousness.

The crowd diverged on the square. The students walked to the other end of the building complex, while the adults who looked like teachers or staff walked to the opposite end.

Tang Qi observed for a while and chose to go in the opposite direction of the students.

Passing through the square was a chaotic building complex with teachers and staff coming and going.

Just as Tang Qi was about to stop someone at random and ask where the "student reception" was, a middle-aged priest in a cassock chased him from behind. Seeing Tang Qi turn around, he asked directly, "Child, is your name Tang Qi?"

"It's me!"

Tang Qi replied in confusion.

Hearing the affirmative answer, the middle-aged priest breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I thought I missed it, luckily."

"Child, I was entrusted by Mr. Ronald to help you with admission procedures. You can call me Xinbani. Come with me."

After speaking, the middle-aged priest turned around and led Tang Qi to a red squat building in the building complex.

As soon as he got close, he saw that the third office on the first floor of the squat building had a sign hanging on the wooden door that read "Student Reception".

...

"Pastor Xinbani, thank you for your help."

When the two came out of the reception, Tang Qi turned to the pastor and bowed slightly, very politely.

Before the pastor could respond, Tang Qi seemed to have thought of something else and asked, "Pastor Xinbani, may I ask if there are places for rent in this school area? I plan to choose to live in school for my three years of Thorn trials. Due to my personality, I prefer a quiet single room as much as possible. Do you have any recommendations?"

When Tang Qi mentioned the so-called "trials" in his mouth, he naturally meant learning.

However, here, everyone calls it the Thorn Trials. At least the stern, blonde old woman who was in charge of receiving new students just now said so.

I don't know if it was his original personality or because Ronald entrusted him, but Pastor Xinbani's attitude towards Tang Qi was very kind. Hearing this question, he smiled faintly and said, "So, what a brave child. Let me think, are there any rooms for rent in that area?"

"At this point in time, there are really not many choices left."

"But you asked the right person. I remember there are still a few places where you can find rooms that meet your requirements."

...

"Pastor, are there any other options? Although this place is very good, if there is a better one, I can afford a higher rent."

Tang Qi walked down the steps of a detached small building, apologizing to Pastor Xinbani.

There were rooms for rent in this small building, although he didn't have to share with others, but the owner of the small building lived on the first floor himself. Although compared with the rooms he had seen before, it already met Tang Qi's requirements very well, Tang Qi still tried his best to see if he could find the most suitable one.

Because of Ronald's instructions, Pastor Xinbani was indeed very responsible. Hearing Tang Qi's request, he was not annoyed. He just rubbed his face, frowned and thought for a while, then said with some embarrassment, "There is a place that meets your requirements, but it is a bit special. Because it is too close to the Ascetic Club, it is usually very quiet, but every morning at dawn is their practice time, so it may be a little strange. If you can accept..."

"Hum!"

Before Xinbani had finished speaking, Tang Qi's eyes had already lit up.

Soon after, in a secluded corner of Saint Thorn School District.

Tang Qi was smiling and saying goodbye to two people, one was naturally Pastor Xinbani who had completed the reception task, and the other was a white old man with a drunkard's nose. Tang Qi had just reached a lease agreement with the old man at a very expensive price for routine. Rent a two-story small building owned by the old man.

After politely saying goodbye, Tang Qi did not look at the small building behind him covered with climbing ivy that looked very delicate, but at the end of the forest path across a grove of small trees, a bell tower, several small buildings clustered together, and a small square like a training ground.

"Ascetic Club!"

After looking at it for a while without finding anything special, Tang Qi shook his head and murmured, then turned to the small building.

Pushing open the slightly ajar door, the layout inside the small building was clear at a glance, a small and exquisite living room, a lounge, a bathroom, and upstairs were bedrooms and guest rooms, with furniture and all appliances, Tang Qi did not need to prepare anything else.

The landlord also provided a bookshelf of books, all in the bedroom, not moved away.

Although the rent Tang Qi paid was a bit expensive relative to these, it was obviously nothing to Tang Qi, who had some special needs.

And, he had just gotten a huge fortune.
