Chereads / Lord of Secret Sorcerers / Chapter 6 - Handling the Inheritance

Chapter 6 - Handling the Inheritance

When he re-opened the study door, everything was unchanged. The evil ritual on the ground, the burnt candles, the tied up corpse of Old Morgan, and the slightly open curtains were all kept as they were, waiting for Tang Qi to deal with.

Although he had completely controlled this body, he could not change some of the original owner's habits. Tang Qi subconsciously walked to the high-backed chair in front of the desk and sat down. His mind automatically started thinking about solutions.

His current situation was a young man in his teens with no relatives and no one to rely on. Although he was a rich second generation, according to his memory, he could not find anyone trustworthy. Apart from his dead parents, the original owner did not seem to have any other relatives.

The Tang Steel Company, which he inherited, was obviously not something a young man with no knowledge could manage well. In addition, there were other properties and chores, giving him a feeling of chaos.

The most urgent thing to solve was the corpse of Old Morgan in front of him. According to Old Morgan's diary, revenge from the Samra family could be delayed for some time.

"The corpse is easy to solve. Anyway, in order to facilitate the murder of the original owner and seize the body, Old Morgan had already thought of his own death and even prepared the relevant documents. Just sign them and cremate him according to accidental death."

"The company and properties are troublesome. Although most of the shares have been inherited by the original owner, a lot are still scattered in other people's hands. The current person in power of the company will obviously not accept the leadership of a little brat."

"However, at my current age, I don't seem to need to go to work. If it were a world like Earth in my previous life, it would be fine, but seeing is believing. This is a terrible world where extraordinary powers are dormant under the surface calmness."

"What I want to do now is to truly reach the extraordinary realm and gain those legendary powers. If possible, I also want to find a way back."

"I have to solve everything perfectly, gain time to grow up, and avoid alerting the enemy. It's a bit troublesome."

Tang Qi was a little headache. He rubbed his eyebrows and his eyes accidentally swept across the desk in front of him.

On the desktop were some books, pen holders and other decorations, exquisite lamps, and an old rotary dial telephone that Tang Qi thought was very old.

Next to the phone was a small notebook. According to memory, the small notebook was left by Tang Qi's parents and recorded some important phone numbers, mostly for partners and the like.

"Hmm!" Tang Qi seemed to have thought of something, and a flash of light flickered by.

He hesitated for a moment, then his face tightened as he made some kind of determination. He reached out and took the small notebook.

Flipping through it, following his memory, he quickly found a name.

"Kerry Ronald, the second largest shareholder of Tang Steel Co. and councilor of Messer City, shareholder of many companies, and has considerable influence in the city district. He has recently been pushing for the establishment of the Messer City Steel Association and competing for the position of chairman."

"Such a big shot should be able to handle all the trivial matters that waste my energy perfectly and satisfy one or two of my small requests."

As the thought flashed through his mind, Tang Qi had already moved the phone over. His slender white fingers pressed down on it one by one according to the numbers in the small notebook.

Ring! Ring ring!

Without waiting long, Tang Qi soon heard a "click" from the earpiece, and a voice came through: "Hello, this is Mr. Ronald's office. May I ask...?"

Hearing the answer, Tang Qi replied directly: "Hello, I'm Tang Qi. I have something to see Mr. Ronald."

After speaking, Tang Qi thought for a moment and added: "My parents and Mr. Ronald have been partners for many years. Please let me speak to Mr. Ronald for a moment."

"Okay, please wait a moment."

The other end was silent for a second, then came a standardized female voice reply, followed only by the sound of high heels clacking, as if walking away.

After a long while, Tang Qi heard the earpiece being picked up, and a steady voice came through: "Little guy, I'm very sorry for your experience. Your parents and I have been friends for many years. Feel free to tell me if there's any way I can help."

Hearing this voice, Tang Qi automatically pictured a middle-aged gentleman in neat attire who looked very steady, a dignified big shot who spoke and acted properly and could give many people a sense of trust, including the original owner.

Unfortunately, Tang Qi was not so easily fooled. According to some fragments of the original owner's memory about this person, Tang Qi could easily judge that this was a fierce character, with great skills in both business and politics. If he thought he could take advantage of his gentle attitude, he would surely pay a huge price.

The original owner's previous idea was to entrust the shares of Tang Steel Co. to Mr. Ronald and then lie down and collect dividends. It had to be said that the idea was beautiful, but reality could be cruel. If this were really done, in less than a few years, after the original owner received a few dividends, Tang Steel Co. would completely become Mr. Ronald's possession, and the original owner would be left with nothing.

The business world was so cruel. Not to mention that the original owner's parents did not have a deep friendship with this person in the first place. Even if they did, after the original owner's parents died, such friendship might dissipate into smoke, and in the end, it still came down to interests.

Of course, seeing clearly did not mean that Tang Qi could contend with this person. Even with a little energy and strength, the two were not on the same level.

Fortunately, Tang Qi's purpose this time was not to take advantage, to be precise. He came to send money.

"Uncle Ronald, I do have two favors to ask of you."

"Oh, go ahead."

Tang Qi imagined that the middle-aged man on the other end of the phone was probably smiling a little while patiently dealing with this little brat.

He also smiled faintly, with no intention of courtesy, and directly told the earpiece his plan.

"I heard that you own an auction house. I want to entrust you to auction off all the properties I inherited, except for the villa I live in, including company shares, real estate, mines, all auctioned off."

"..."

After Tang Qi finished speaking, the other end was silent for a moment, then came a slightly fluctuating voice.

"Little guy, are you sure? These were left to you by your father. Although auctioning them off will temporarily give you a large sum of money, what you lose will be more. Do you want to consider it again?"

It was almost the perfect advice of an elder.

However, Tang Qi did not appreciate it. He simply replied, "Uncle Ronald, I understand your kindness, but my ambitions are not on these things, and I don't have the ability to deal with them. It's better to exchange them all for Eagle Gold coins for freedom. I'll leave everything to Uncle Ronald."

"By the way, apart from this, I have two small matters to trouble Uncle Ronald with..."

"Since you have considered it well, I won't advise you against it. You stay at home and wait a few minutes, I will handle everything for you."

...

After hanging up the phone, Tang Qi got up. He went straight to get some cleaning tools and quickly removed all traces of the soul transmigration ritual on the ground. He looked at Old Morgan on the ground again, smiled coldly, and untied the ropes on him.

After handling everything, Tang Qi washed his hands and returned to the hall. He made a pot of tea and waited quietly.

A few minutes? No, only one minute later, Tang Qi heard the doorbell ring outside the villa.

Putting down his teacup, Tang Qi went to the door and opened the big iron door. A black sedan that looked very low-key appeared, the door opened, a middle-aged man and two men in black got out. The middle-aged man was wearing a suit and had a shrewd and capable look.

Seeing Tang Qi, he walked over and bowed slightly, saying, "Young Master Tang, Mr. Ronald sent us."

Tang Qi glanced at the three men and nodded slightly, saying, "Old Morgan is in my study. Go move him out. According to the customs of his hometown, cremate him and scatter the ashes into the sea. The poor old man died so suddenly from illness. May he rest in peace."

"Yes!"

After agreeing, the two men in black moved very quickly. Knowing the location of the study, in less than a minute they moved Old Morgan's completely stiff corpse out and put it in the sedan.

By this time Tang Qi had come out again, holding a stack of documents. It seemed that they had all been signed. He handed them directly to the shrewd middle-aged man.

Without even looking at them, the middle-aged man put them away. He then bowed respectfully to Tang Qi with a smile and said, "Young Master Tang, the items you requested will be mailed to you in three days. Please pay attention to receiving them. We bid you farewell."

Hearing this, Tang Qi nodded slightly and said a word of goodbye. He then turned directly back into the villa.

After inspecting it, he returned to the study.

The room, which had originally been somewhat terrifying, was indeed much cleaner without Old Morgan's corpse.

Everything looked perfect.

Tang Qi walked to the windowsill and watched the few people leaving. He exhaled a breath.

From today on, he had lost all his "inheritance" except for the villa he was now inhabiting.

Just now, he had already entrusted all the property documents to Ronald's men. Nominally, he was having Ronald auction them off for him, but Tang Qi was very clear that this was actually him voluntarily selling Tang Steel Co. and some affiliated properties to Ronald.

For Tang Qi, this could directly generate a large sum of cash.

For Ronald, the significance was much greater. Although it could not complete his steel association plan, speeding it up a bit and increasing some bargaining chips was no problem.

For this, Ronald also helped Tang Qi with two small favors.

The first was to handle Old Morgan's corpse for him. Tang Qi could do it himself, but it was troublesome and might even face police questioning. However, for someone like Ronald, it was much simpler, especially since Old Morgan himself had prepared the "method of death."

As for the second, it would be revealed in three days.
