"Lilly, calm down." I try to talk to her. I want to get the dagger out of her hand but I'm scared she will only plunge it into Dera's throat in anger.
"What do you mean calm down? She clearly saw the beast coming for you, I saw her!"
"L_Lilly she was probably just too scared out of her mind to say anything at that point." I shift my gaze between Dera who is visibly shaking with the dagger at her throat.
Of course Dera would not see me in danger and let me perish. She even risked her life by coming to my rescue at the wedding earlier. And she's also been my closest maid so Lilly is probably mistaken or Dera was just too scared to say anything.
"Right Dera?" I ask.
"M_my Lady, I_ I am so sorry. I don't know how I froze—"
"LIAR!" Lilly pressed the dagger closer into her throat. At this rate Dera will lose her neck. "You are only saying that because she said it." Lilly accuses.
