Chapter 26 - Fight! (1)

Tribulations were an integral part of the Heavens. With Tribulations, the Heavens tested a Mortal's worthiness and aptitude for the Immortal Realm. With Tribulations, the Heavens punished those that reneged on the Oath they had taken and weeded out those they considered a menace.

Tribulations, depending on how one was seen from the perspective of the Heavens, could be in form of the volatile lightning or the destructive fire. This was where the two Natural Treasures earned their moniker.

As is the case with every Natural Treasures, little is known about the creation process of the Tribulation Lightning and Tribulation Flame, except the fact that they are formed in the very eye of a Tribulation. However, although the process of their creation is unknown, the same couldn't be said about their abilities.

Known as the weapons of the Heavens, individually, they already possess destructive prowess the likes of which only a few unique existence could match. But when together, their destructiveness increases by several tiers, making it so that the wielder of these Natural Treasures could summon calamitous heavenly lightning with one hand, and a storm of pernicious heavenly flames with the other.

In addition, just by their unique existence as the arbitrary weapons of the Heavens, they embodied a miniscule aspect of absolute sovereignty over existences of their kind!

Before them, all types of flame and lightning, including even the Destruction Flame of the mythical Fire Dragons and the Divine Lightning of the mythical Lightning Qilins, would cower!

In simpler terms, Tribulation Lightning and Tribulation Flame are Natural Treasures with the most offensive capabilities in existence, while also possessing the uniqueness to force any other type of lightning or fire to submission!

Osric felt his heart beating a little erratically. Although, he had lived over five years in the Fahren Clan, he had never even seen a Divine Grade Synthetic Treasure, let alone a Natural Treasure on the caliber of these two.

One was considered the eyes of the Heavens, with it, one could peer through the secrets of all things, while the other two, called the weapons of the Heavens, boast of the highest offensive capabilities in existence.

With one, Osric would be able to see through the secrets of his Talents, and with the other, they would be perfect resources to comprehend, because of his high affinity for lightning and fire bestowed upon him by his Body!

While Osric was still reeling from his own shock, a certain Immortal, seated on the highest seat of the Mortal Section of the Battle Hall, felt tumultuous waves bowelling through his mind. This was none other than Immortal that overlooked the recent Awakening Ceremonies, his eyes shining with greed as it concentrated on the two rings in the possession of Conrad and Seina.

Although, he was a member of the Fahren Clan and had even awakened decent Talents, what did that amount to before the absolute geniuses like Conrad and Seina?

As a result of his below average Talents, he hadn't been worthy of resources on the level of the Natural Treasures he was currently seeing. In fact, the best Treasures he could call his own were of the Sky Grade.

Although he had felt a little pained, there was nothing he could do about it. This was just the way of the Martial Verse.

However, the more he looked at the rings, the higher he felt his greed increase. With him as the Master of those Natural Treasures, wouldn't he rise above the whole Realm? Wouldn't he rise to be the single most powerful existence in the Martial Verse? Wouldn't he–

Abruptly, he snapped out of his delusions, a subtle fear taking root in his heart. He had almost lost himself there.

Casting aside the fact that it would be impossible to snatch the rings with the presence of a Divine, even if he did manage to get his hands on it, he wouldn't even take two steps before he would be surrounded by Elders, and then his life would be forfeit.

He immediately suppressed his greed. He didn't dare allow it fester, or else, he wouldn't know how he died.

While the crowd had begun clamoring over the presence of two Natural Treasures, Conrad, however, was frowning.

Although he was a kid, his superior Bloodline made him smarter than kids his age. Seina was never one to do things foolishly, he knew that. And the fact that she had even dared to wager a Tribulation Flame and Lightning on behalf of Osric meant she was extremely confident.

But why was she so confident?

'Could it be Osric secretly possessed a Treasure? No, that's impossible. I exclusively requested for the Divine for cases like this. And with the senses of a Divine, he would have been found out.

'The only other possibility is that he awakened Divine Grade Talents. But…how could that be possible? Wasn't he picked from the streets of the Immortal World?'

Conrad wasn't wrong with his train of thought, in fact, if anything, he was on the right track.

Although the Talents a cultivator awakened depended on luck, it was also heavily reliant on the background of said cultivator. With the Fortune backing a Sect or Clan, the chances that they would birth geniuses with Talents equivalent to their standing increases.

It was for this reason Conrad's own thoughts shocked himself. How could a creature with no background to speak of awaken Talents on the level of those with the backing of a Divine Clan?

But, if he had known Osric didn't only awaken decent Talents, he awakened ones decent enough to trump even the Divine Grade, he would have been shocked to death.

That said, although he ridiculed Osric on the outside, the truth was, he had never underestimated him. After all, anyone worthy enough to walk the grounds of the Fahren Clan definitely wasn't trash.

He took a deep breath, before handling the ring over to Seina. Although, it should have been safer in the hands of the Divine floating a few meters above them, he still trusted Seina more than anyone in the Battle Hall. Hence, she would be the one to keep it.

Seina palmed the rings in her hand tightly, before turning to look towards Osric, nodding and smiling faintly as she relished in the helplessness that framed his expression.

Osric shook his head, feeling a little powerless at Seina's tactics. The next moment, however, his gaze grew sharp. The matters of Seina would have to wait for later, because in moments, he would be fighting his first ever fight since he was born into the Martial Verse.

He nodded to the Divine overlooking their little battle, whilst seeing Conrad do the same, and then, the voice of the Divine fell.

"Fight!"
