Chapter 22 - Movement Technique

Conrad stood from his cultivation platform. He had barely rested since his Awakening. Not after what he found at the Awakening Coliseum. Not after he witnessed the momentum of Seina's Awakening. It had sent him into alert.

And it appeared his relentlessness had yielded fruitful results. The aura of a peak Nascent Realm cultivator suddenly radiated from him, sending the air turbulent for a moment before becoming still.

The truth was, Conrad's Talents had invoked a Perfect Awakening just like that of Seina, and in other words, meant, he had awakened Divine Grade Talents as well. However, even among the Divine Grade, there were still levels.

And without a shred of doubt, Seina's was of a more higher level than his. A realization that wasn't pleasant to his ears.

He reined his aura, before turning to look at the mirror in his room. What appeared was a young lad with the trademark obsidian black hair of the Fahren Clan. It shone as though pomaded by the finest gel in all of existence.

His eyes were a demonic crimson red, and for a moment, they appeared as though pervaded by a thick fog of blood before vanishing without a trace.

Despite the slight chubbiness that still graced his face, making his young age apparent, the faint outline of a mature handsomeness was beginning to make their presence known.

A smile broke out on Conrad's lips as he viewed himself. There was no doubt about it, he had become more handsome than when he was a Mortal.

"Let's see if you can resist this."

There was a secret far too little knew about Conrad. And it was the fact that he was an extreme narcissist. He took himself like he was the most precious lifeform in existence. And sometimes, he would even consume rare treasures just to heighten an handsomeness that was just budding.

On several occasions, he had almost commanded the death of several people who accidentally sullied his appearance. And then, he would spend several hours just to restore his gracious appearance.

Conrad chuckled silently before he moved away from the mirror. Suddenly, his gaze grew serious.

He had one other goal to achieve. And that was…

"Damned Osric. Always pivoting Seina's attention to himself. What does she even see in him? What does he have that I do not have? In abundance that is.

I will be sure to teach that bastard a lesson. But first…"

He needed to clean the sweat and grime he had accumulated after his cultivation. With that, he walked to his bathroom.

The Fahren Clan's Territory was huge, so huge even a Divine, the weakest of them, would spend hours trying to maneuver it, a shocking discovery if one were to think about it.

A Divine, from the weakest to the strongest, could go from hundreds of millions of miles per hour to quadrillions of miles per hour, respectively.

Although, this wasn't entirely true for those standing at the very peak of the Divine cultivation realm, as to those monsters, the idea of distance becomes obsolete.

They could get anywhere not because they put in effort, but funnily because, they didn't even need to put in any effort. The very concept of Space becomes child's play before them. To them, the fabrics of reality was no different from a wet paper that could be torn with the slightest poke.

That said, if even Divines, the weakest of them all, with their speed and strength which were countless times that of an Immortal would need to spend at the very least, an hour to completely survey every nooks and crannies of the Fahren Clan Territory, then what need was there to be said about an Immortal, or even more amusingly, a Mortal?

Perhaps, even a thousand years wouldn't be enough to completely run the whole Clan.

And yet, Osric was debating whether he would be able to do just that or not. In truth, he knew how ridiculous this was. Not only was he still a Mortal cultivator, he was also at the very summit of the weakest Mortal cultivation realm in existence. How was he going to walk the whole over a billion miles that was the Fahren Clan Territory?

'I'm getting ahead of myself… There's literally no way I can walk such a distance, at least not until I become an Immortal.'

Osric shook his head, then exhaled. He tried to remember the reason he had even had such a thought to begin with.

Hours ago, when he exited the Grand Hall, he had immediately began to prepare for his journey to the Mortal World. This had prompted him to one of the countless Halls in the Fahren Clan, the Techniques Hall.

The Techniques Hall, just as its name implied, was a Hall one could procure cultivation techniques, from the lowest Normal Grade to the highest Divine Grade, at no cost, at least, for those that took the name Fahren.

Fortunately, because of the Pact Osric had formed with the Fahren Clan, he was made an exception.

Osric could still remember his shock when he entered the Techniques Hall. It had five floors, each representing the five known grades of the Martial Verse.

The first floor houses Normal Grade cultivation techniques. The second houses Black Grade cultivation techniques. The third floor, Terrestrial Grade cultivation techniques, and so on.

Although Osric had been expecting it, he still couldn't help the shock he felt when he beheld the numbers of Normal Grade cultivation techniques on the first floor. They were simply uncountable.

But really, what would one expect from a Divine Clan on the level of the Fahren Clan? To them, Normal Grade cultivation techniques were simply waste materials. However, instead of dumping everything, they simply gathered the best of them for those of the newer generations. And yet, the numbers was still countless.

Osric had searched and researched, in hopes of luckily finding the cultivation techniques that best suited his Talents. However, he had just been hoping for the non-existent.

Of all the Talents that currently resided in his being, Osric had been able to comprehend the surface level of his Body and glean a tiny bit of information about his Bloodline. As for the rest, he knew nothing about them.

And ever since Osric had arrived in the Fahren Clan, he had never come across the Titanic Golden Body nor the Empyrean Human Bloodline. And this was considering the little over five years he had spent parading the Library Hall of the Fahren Clan, soaking in the countless information it held.

At that very point, Osric seemed to realize something. His Talents were one that had never appeared prior, or had simply appeared at a point in history none of the Powers of the Dark Edge Realm had knowledge of.

With that knowledge, Osric suddenly felt he was special. And he was in fact, right. Although, he wasn't aware of it, the Ancestors of the Fahren Clan had wisely chosen not to antagonize him because of this. Although, they hadn't seen Osric's Talents before, what they had indeed witnessed was the Golden Auspicious Clouds that came with his Awakening.

And the day they touched the invoker of such a cloud was the day they most regretted in their entire lives.

Osric had decided at that moment, since he couldn't find suitable cultivation techniques for his Talents, he went for a movement technique that wasn't limited to a specific Qi, a defensive technique that didn't need a unique Qi to be used, and an offensive technique that simply utilized Weapon Qi.

And surprisingly, each of these techniques went from the Normal Grade, to the Black Grade, the Terrestrial Grade, the Sky Grade, all the way to the Divine Grade. Meaning, he wouldn't need to abandon them just because he couldn't find their higher grade counterpart.

It was just such a pity that he couldn't find even a cultivation technique that was reminiscent of the Fahren Clan's aura. But that was to be expected, there was no way the Clan would place their core techniques in such a place. In fact, Osric wouldn't be surprised if their core techniques are being monitored by the Ancestors.

After carefully selecting the cultivation techniques, he had turned back to his home. Without reaching the Meridian Opening Realm first, there was no way he could use it. But, he could at least try to glean a few information from them.

He had taken the movement technique to be the first. It was named, Unfettered Windy Strides.

The Unfettered Windy Strides focused on one's use of the natural wind, not Wind Qi, to amplify one's movement. This way, one would only need a bit of one's Qi to interact with the world around you, and in extension, wind, to take great strides forward.

He even learnt that when one comprehended it to the Sky Grade, you could even outrun a Divine while still being an Immortal. This was where his crazy thought came in. He had actually thought perhaps he could run the whole Fahren Clan Territory while still being a Mortal, even when the technique had clearly stated it was only possible when one comprehended it to the Sky Grade, the equivalent of an Immortal.

'Really, a fanciful thought..'

Osric chuckled to himself before he dropped the movement technique to move to the defensive technique. However, he had barely moved a finger when the voice of one of the lifeforms he disliked in his entire life boomed.

"Osric, you damned bastard! Come out if you have the guts!"

Almost immediately, a bored expression appeared on Osric's face.
