The island wasn't at all big so they didn't need a carriage to get to the other side, and for a rocky island, the weather was surprisingly pleasant. Although there was little foliage, white voluminous clouds filled the blue sky, shielding the town from the sun.
The barkeep hadn't been at all vague with his descriptions about where to find the hot springs. Half of the island had actually been converted to a tourist paradise, low rock walls separating it from the other half.
There was a tall metal wrought gate up ahead and if they walked for miles on the other sides of the rock wall, they would come across more gates. The island inhabitants had made sure that the hot springs were very accessible to visitors.
