Chereads / Stuck With My Grumpy Boss / Chapter 36 - CHAPTER 36

Chapter 36 - CHAPTER 36

As soon as his office door closed, my lips were immediately on his, pulling every part of his body to mine. Effortlessly, he carried my hips up, and I wrapped my legs around his waist as our tongues battled for dominance. He proceeded to carry me toward one of his sofas, roughly throwing me down the luxurious furniture without letting his lips stay away from mine.

Eventually, his tongue overpowered me and invaded my mouth, earning a guttural moan from my throat. My mind was already blank. All I wanted was to feel all of him inside me until I lost myself again.

"So… eager," Ben cheekily commented as his lips began to trail downwards, starting from my chin. All the while, his hands were successfully unzipping and taking off my dress, revealing my top. His kisses started to leave marks on my neck once more, then he found my cleavage and did a couple of teasing swipes, making my back arch a little. Excruciatingly slowly, Ben began to unhook the clasp of my bra. Once he exposed my breasts, he teased me even more by letting out his hot breath against the most sensitive parts.

"Ben,"I drawled, feeling both the heat of his breath and the heat of the alcohol coming up to me. That might have been cheap alcohol, but that didn't mean it didn't hit hard.

"So sexy while you're begging," Ben whispered, and, without any warning, began to suck gently on my nipples. My back arched, wanting more of his skillful tongue to make my entire body tingle.

"Ben, please,"I begged once more as I began to grind against him, frustrated that I couldn't get more friction.

Ben chuckled once more, darkly and full of delicious promise. I felt his touch everywhere as his hands roamed my body, teasing my breasts, slipping beneath my underwear.

"What do you want, Olivia? Tell me."

"I want you to fucking ruin me, Ben."

In an instant, our clothes were off and he towered over me. He flipped me over as he nibbled at my neck and my back, pushing my hair to one side.

"Are you ready?" he growled. I nodded and murmured in anticipation. I felt him just outside my entrance, teasing me, making me wet. I moaned and writhed on the couch. His hands scoured my back from my bottom to my shoulder and back down again until he held tight around my hips. With one deep thrust he was inside me. It took me by surprise, and I arched my back and gasped. He covered my gasp with his mouth and we desperately kissed and nipped at each other as he thrusted in and out in a steady rhythm. He sped up, and all the friction in all the right places was going to make me explode.

"Fuck, Olivia. You're so wet." He suddenly pulled out and flipped me over so we could gaze into each other's eyes. He placed me on the couch again and hovered over me. We both had glazed eyes, being at the height of excitement but also realizing what had happened today and what it was like to conquer and do things together. It was a deep realization that I saw in his eyes.

I wrapped my legs around his waist, making myself totally open to him. He answered by pushing inside me, slower, more deliberate. He bent down and kissed me deeply, his tongue gently smoothing out any doubts I might have had.

"I love you, Olivia." I smiled.

"I love you too, Ben."

He continued rocking inside me, kissing me, until we both felt our orgasms start to take over our bodies. I shuddered, deeper than I ever have in my life, while Ben buried his head in my neck as he felt his full release.

Everything felt so perfect. I wanted to stay right here with Ben forever.

We laid there for several long moments, our breaths matching, Ben stroking my hair.

He kissed the top of my head gently and I gazed outside. For the first time, I could see stars in the New York City night sky.

Epilogue

Olivia

Thishasbeen…thelongest freakin' day of this job so far. I would easily think that the time we interviewed Jebediah Olson was the longest and most grueling day. But today, somehow, topped that. I actually couldn't believe that I actually dreamed of having this assignment. What was I thinking? Why was I wishing for hard work to come my way? I could have just ridden a thousand roller coasters and went viral every now and again.

"Hey, Olivia! Great job reporting on the ballot results," Lucy said to me with a smile as I passed her the newsroom.

"Thanks, Lucy. I'm super exhausted from it, though," I replied, stretching my back from standing for so long. "I never thought it would bethishard. How do you do this every election?"

Lucy laughed.

"Oh, you'll get used to it. At least Jebediah Olson is getting fewer and fewer votes with each state that comes in. He's bound to lose now."

Afterwards, Mark ran up to me before I could bolt out of the door.

"Olivia, we'll need you back here in an hour when the next round of polls close," he reminded me, still as nonchalant as ever.

"I'm going to have to change into more comfortable shoes then," I replied.

I walked toward my desk to get my shoes, when Eric stopped me in my tracks.

"Whoa, you look like crap," he bluntly said.

"Yes, thanks, it's a new fashion trend right now," I replied sarcastically, but not in a mean way. It was fun to banter with Eric, sometimes. He was like the glue of the newsroom. "Something you needed?" I asked.

Eric's eyes then widened upon remembering why he blocked my path in the first place. Damn, did I look that stressed out that he forgot what he was going to say?

"Oh yeah, Johnson DuPont had some notes for you."

I mean, of course he did. He was very good at commenting, that Johnson DuPont. I would never say it out loud, however, because it inflates his ego, but he did giveamazingnotes.

"Okay, sure, I'll talk to him about it tomorrow," I dismissed him, my feet still aching from wearing my heels all day. Finally, though, I made myself get out of the newsroom, and I took a detour to put on the flats I kept in my desk before going outside for a breath of fresh air.

Outside the main doors of the OVT Broadcasting Network building was a classy and impeccably sleek Rolls-Royce. I would stand there and marvel at the absolute beauty of a car, but my feet werekilling me, so instead, I got in the car as quickly as I could. As soon as my butt hit the chair and my feet weren't standing in heels anymore, I quickly shook the footwear off, immediately feeling a rush of relief run through them.

Ben cleared his throat at the driver's side. "I like how you've gotten comfortable in my car in just two weeks," he commented cheekily, leaning down to fix where I threw my heels for me.

"I'm sorry, but you could never understand this pain," I explained as I started to massage my foot. "I don't have long before I have to be back."

It had been an eventful time ever since the interview with Jebediah Olson. Of course, work didn't slow down even when we resolved our crisis with him. It was still election season, and we were all still busy as bees. It probably would have been better to not throw that party in retrospect because we all came to work the next day with a massive hangover, and that was pretty much the energy we had in the newsroom for the past two weeks. The only significant difference was that everyone was genuinely happy, even when we still had several problems to address and fires to fight.

He chuckled and drove off, taking me to a drive-through. We parked on the street and ate our burgers and fries. Ben could introduce me to a million Michelin-star restaurants, but I would always still go back to my trusty burger and fries combo.

"Well, it just so happened, Olivia Taylor, that you spearheaded OVT into popularity once more," Ben declared, but I only looked at him deadpan, not believing him whatsoever. "I'm not lying. Do you have any idea how many views your stories have gotten? Now, everyone's watching our election coverage because you're doing it," he informed me, then started eating his food as well. It might be my fault that I was introducing Ben to a lot of unhealthy fast food. If I kept this up, he would lose his abs.

Ah, but I wouldn't really care what he looked like anyway.

I gave him a once-over again, and he didn't seem to be lying or teasing me. Taking the information in, I took a bite of my scrumptious burger.

"I told you, you should have assigned me the election stories all along," I teasingly stated, earning an eye roll from him. "So, what does this mean for the company?" I followed-up, hoping for the best.

"Well, if this keeps up, we'll be back on the green again, and it's only up from there," Ben answered with a mouth full of fries. I might also be teaching him a couple of bad manners. Oops.

But I relaxed into the car seat, relieved to hear that OVT was seemingly back on-track. That only meant that the company we worked so hard to protect would get to see another day.

"I'm glad," I admitted tiredly, looking at Ben with admiration. Though there was ketchup on the side of his lip, I still found myself smiling because I was so in love with this man. This man, who was both serious and goofy at the same time. This man, who made me pull my hair out in frustration but also made me melt into pure bliss. This man, who I witnessed as a renowned billionaire President and as just a man that knew how to make me laugh.

"We've certainly come a long way," I said as I wiped the ketchup off his face.

Ben looked at me as he heard the softness in my voice, and his expression softened as well as he saw me staring at him.

"Yeah. Remember when you were trying to hide from me in the newsroom?" he reminded me, making me blush and playfully smack his arm. "What? That's what you did!"

I laughed out loud, shaking my head at how comfortable we were with each other. "You were so grumpy then," I pointed out. "Now, we're getting fast food and eating in fancy cars on the street. We're living the good life."

A comfortable silence fell between us, and I knew he was thinking of something, but I was just waiting for him to bring it up himself.

"So, I've been thinking..."

There it was.

"I established OVT with the tagline the harbingers of unequivocal truth.'"

My lips began to tug up, knowing exactly where he was going with this.

"And I just… I feel bad that I'm not doing that about you…about us."

"What are you saying?" I asked. I knew. I knew what he wanted. I just wanted to hear him say it out loud.

Ben smiled, finally realizing that I was playing along the whole time. "I would love nothing more than to let the whole world know how much I love you, Olivia," he finally declared, sending infinite butterflies to flutter in my stomach.

The widest possible smile spread on my lips.

"You know what that would entail, right?" I asked as I held his hand tightly. "No more hiding."

"Well," he continued as he rifled in his side pocket, "I don't know how you're going to hide this baby."

He pulled out a blue velvet square box and opened it. Inside was the most beautiful solitaire diamond set in a platinum band of baguette-cut diamonds. The solitaire was big, but not too big. Tastefully and wonderfully just the perfect size. I looked into his eyes, with my own eyes tearing up.

"Ben…what? Now?"

"Olivia, will you marry me?"

I shook my head in disbelief, shaking my tears out of my eyes. I put on the ring and lifted my face towards his. My newly decorated hand cupped his cheek as I kissed him, deeply and sincerely.

"Yes, Ben. Yes. I can't wait to marry you."

I looked down again at the ring, watching it sparkle from the streetlights up above. "It's not going to be easy, you know, and there's so much to think about, and I don't want people to treat either of us differently…" I rambled, just caught up in all the unbelievable emotion I was feeling.

"Then, like what I said in my father's office…" Ben took my hand and kissed it gently, his forest green eyes staring directly into my soul. "We'll weather that together, too."

Unable to stop myself, I pulled him in for another deep and passionate kiss. The world always began to unravel and fix itself each time our lips met. Fireworks went off, waves hit the shore, lightning cracks in the sky, raindrops hit the ground. Every time we kissed, I felt every magical thing surging through my body all at once. Once we pulled away, we shared one last smile together, knowing that after this day, we wouldn't have to hide anymore.

"I'm sad that I have to go back," I said, wishing I could run away with him.

"I'll be waiting for you to finish, and then we'll go home."

I laid my head on his shoulder and realized I wasn't afraid that our destination was unknown.

We'd weather it together.

THE END.
