Jian moved those thoughts to the back of his mind and focused on the cultivation manual he had gained. He sat cross-legged on his small room provided by the monastery, locked it, and after checking if anything was put of place he finally sighed in relief. He had secrets after all, and he didn't wasn't any of them beeing known.
He firstly opened a small booklet bound by some rough twine, and stared at the flowing characters that read ' Scorching Fire ' first volume. He slowly opened it at the first page and with quietly begun to read the contents "Fire, the destroyer, the protector, the creator. Qi, the energy that flows through all of us, and the combination and culmination of these two things brings forth Fire Qi.The 'Scorching Fire' manual is based around the concept of destruction and heat manipulation, it's Qi techniques explosive and violent. " Jian quickly read through the spiritual and novice shit and went straight to the point. On the third page of the manual there was depicted several cross-legged positions, and several hand signs coupled with breathing exercises. All these together made for the basics of the Scorching Fire cultivation technique, and Jian started to emulate them....or tried to. He took several deep breaths as he sat cross-legged on the wooden floor and he started to chant some mantras as he did some hand signs emulating a flickering fire. With each breath he took his fingers opened and closed as if they were a living beeing with its own mind. The movement were uncoordinated and clumsy as he was doing this for the first time, but Jian had an ace up his sleeve.
Besides upgrading his camera with the slow motion function, he had also upgraded the charging function. Now, besides charging itself the phone could also reverse charge other things. At first Jian was confused as to what he could charge with the function as he didn't have any other gadgets, so he tried to gain that function out of curiosity, and he was presently surprised. When he activated that option, the phone started to discharge quickly and a feeling of fullness started to emerge.At first Jian didn't think about it to much, but after acquiring the Scorching Fire cultivation manual, he saw that the symptoms were those of absorbing the ambient Qi which was all around us. The Qi he gained though quickly dissipated into his cells and organs, and then into the air as he didn't will it through his meridians.
To truly cultivate was to absorb the Qi and then force it into predestined paths called meridians, and finally try to circulate it in a circle slowly adding more and more to it. This was the first stage of cultivation, the Meridian stage. It went from 1 to 12 meridians and if one finished opening all twelve of them, then he could advance to the next stage, but that was in the future. Right now Jian had willed his smartphone into existence and had activated the reverse charging function. As soon as he did that he begun to follow the instructions of the Scorching Fire cultivation manual.
" Haaaaaa..." he released his breath and it immediately distorted the air. He had unintentionally released some of the Qi he had absorbed from the phone, only a small amount being directed by him. Like a small but ferocious worm the strand of Fire Qi swam through his organs, and then slowly condensed into his abdomen, the most important place of a cultivator, the dantian , but it didn't enter it. Instead it came undone and stretched enough to enter the Life Gate Meridian, the primary Meridian. It connected to the stomach and the heart, making it a primary one.
'This, this is it...I can feel the Qi circulating, I can feel it..ahhhh shit..." suddenly the Qi went out of controll and it begun to disperse and expand, but Jian was fast enough to not let it cause any damage. Sweat crept up his hands and neck, his body temperature rising rapidly as the Fire Qi was being forced against its will. A normal person who started on the road of cultivation would be very cautious when he began the first steps of if, but he had justal made a blunder. Any other person would have suffered greatly from the backlash.

One hour passed and Jian finally opened his eyes feeling some change on his body " So, this is cultivation huh? I thought it would be more radical, but I guess it's still to early and I'm beeing greedy. Still, it's almost as good as what I slept with the mantras in the background." Jian got up, and when he did he felt something else, the temperature had seemed to have changed. When he started to cultivate he felt the cold from the floor, but now he barely noticed it.
'Has my body temperature gotten higher?Hmmmm.... ' thought Jian, but without a thermometer he couldn't know so he forgot about it. He thought didn't forget to take a bath, a somewhat strained one as he still had to focus on the strand of Fire Qi circulating in a circle in his first Meridian.
